The Mayor has a platform, it is the Office of the Mayor with it's own outlets
for dispensing news. The Deseret News should not let news makers be the news
tellers. Whoever thought this was a good idea needs some journalism training.
There are no checks and balances.
Dear Mayor, Stick to trying to do the one job you have (which is
admittedly tough enough - let alone a crime ridden place like WVC).I
wholeheartedly expect politicians to solicit my vote but writing for a newspaper
doesn't necessarily endear oneself to his constituents. When my
home in WVC was burglarized, I noticed the WVC PD was much less efficient than
my friend in Sandy who had his home robbed. Moreover, when I complained about
the snow being piled up in front of my home (it sits at the end of a dead end
street), I would rather have results from the Mayor than a news story! And when
the Gestapo Code Enforcement Agents came around with their numerous demands and
threats, I would have rather been able to get through to the Mayor than to hear
he was busy typing up his next article for the DesNews.Bottom line
Mayor, you have more than enough to keep you occupationally engaged - more than
full time - you shouldn't be seeking outside responsibilities until you have
more than a 100% efficiency.
Dear Mayor,Thanks for giving it a shot!
Perhaps Mayor Winder should resign his governmental post and become a fulltime
writer for the DN. Let's help him make the decision and vote him out. He
really doesn't do much for West Valley City. Perhaps he can do something for
