Melanie's great! While there are some bad apples out there, there are more high
functioning normal people out there online. Can't wait to hear her speak at the
upcoming Orange County CA Singles Conference this August about this very topic.
Great article! I have several older LDS family and friends who are single and
have had or are having a lot of fun and success online. I think the most
valuable aspect of internet dating is efficiency. In one evening you can see
pictures of and at least get a general sense of literally hundreds of people
also looking to date. How long would that take getting set up? I
agree with the honesty part. I have a friend who is not exactly going to be the
next Bishop or Elders Quorum President (which is probably why he is my friend).
He is active but a very liberal Mormon. He felt pressured to make his profile
appear like he was the reincarnation of President Monson. His first few dates
proved to be a mismatch because he was describing himself differently than he
really was or ever wanted to be. Since being more honest he has connected with
women who are more like him in personality and views toward the church.
