Austin is a great kid and is going to make every Y fan very happy. Good luck
Alot of depth at the MLB position will make for some good healthy competition at
the position this fall.
"BYU has a tradition of standout middle linebackers. Players such as Shay
Muirbrook, Rob Morris, Cameron Jensen and Kelly Poppinga, among others, have
helped build a strong middle linebacker tradition for the Cougar football
program through the years."Add Heimuli and Kyle Whittingham
Can you imagine a kid saying "utah is the only place I would play. If utah
hadn't offered me and others did I probably wouldn't be playing college football
at all."No kid feels that way. That could only happen at
Looking forward to seeing this kid play. BYU LB's are always excellent.
The future continues to look bright as we attract outstanding talent.
When I saw the title of this article I thought it was about baseball (MLB). I'm
glad, though, that it was about football.I love the depth we have at
LB this year. Did anyone else see that Uona Kaveinga was named to the Rivals
All-Spring Practice team? He along with Heder and others will make for one of
the best LB corps in the country. In regards to Kaveinga:USC talent
+ Bronco coaching = Utesies shivering in their boots
We love the BYU linebacker tradition. They tear your head off and then come
visit you in the hospital!
Hondo,Utah will have one of the best linebacker groups in the entire
nation, with 3 players that will be playing in the NFL.
@kenI'm not sure if you are a utah "fan" that is making
serious comments or else a BYU fan making utah fans look foolish but either
laugh it up ducky, looking forward to another 1-4 start?
Ken"looking forward to another 1-4 start?"A
1-4 start would not be a shocker and 1-6 isn't out of the realm of possibility,
when you considerat USCat BYUWashingtonArizona
Stateat Pittsburghat Californiaare all very loseable
games for the Utes, especially if Wynn plays like he did at the end of last
season.Just be glad U have Montana State at home to start the
@Hondo - From what I've read Kaveinga is going to be a strong asset to your
Cougars, but I don't know if you should be bragging about his nomination to the
Rivals All-Spring practice team. Do you think Kaveinga ran home to add that to
@kenOh I am laughing it up. Thanks for being there. LOL
@ KenIf your talking about LB's like Chaz Walker, Boo Anderson and
JJ Williams...That's laughable, the won't be even crack the 2nd or 3rd all
conference defensive team in the 12 PAC this year, let alone be one of the best
LBing corp in the nation.
@Troll Hunter - Ken is not a Utah fan. He's a BYU fan pretending to be a Utah
fan and you fell for it.
DevilishUte, You may be right. Just as you fell for Hondo.
@Ted H. - You may be right about Hondo. If so, touche'.In any event
Hondo mentioned a real nomination. Kaveinga was selected to the Rivals
All-Spring practice squad. He seems like a nice add for the Cougars (as much as
I wish that weren't the case).
Pass rushers- checkRun stoppers- double checkInterceptors- checkQB- double checkWR's- double checkRB's- checkTE's-checkO-line- double checkThis is going to be a great year for BYU - and
I'll be able to watch ALL the games!
Don't ever use the words USC football and BYU football in the same
BYU & USC! BYU & USC! BYU & USC! BYU all over
national TV. Recruits getting bigger faster better. Utah losing in Provo. Maybe,
just maybe, even the cougars turn in a BCS bowl game. I can see this
will be a tough transition for some of our smaller brethren to the north. You
will, however, do just fine in the PAC. Once you learn to let BYU and it's
@clowntownHey I agree with you. I don't want to see BYU mentioned in
the same breath with a school who has one heisman winner that murdered his wife
and her freind, another heisman winner that had to give it back because he was
dishonest and a program currently on probation for cheating. I really couldn't
agree with you more.
crowntown1 | 7:38 p.m. May 11, 2011 Corona, CA Don't ever use the
words USC football and BYU football in the same sentence..ever! ===You just did...
With Lane Kiffin at the helm, I imagine Florida International will not want
their name mentioned in the same sentence as USC as well. USC:
Great talent+poor coaching+unethical behavior+no drive to win= dead programMaybe Utah can beat them this year.
@ In My Humble OpinionI don't recall any Heimuli's playing
linebacker at BYU. It seems they were running backs. Coach Whit was great in his
day at the Y. If your intent was to reference back to the U...you might be
mistaking Coach Sitake for "Heimuli." And if memory serves me well,
Sitake was also a running back.
@Ken ...Here chickie chickie chickie!!! Wow...3 utey NFL chickee's and the
eggs aren't even laid yet...let alone the Sept 10th Crunch and wake up call at
Memorial Colliseum. Good luck...
That was directed to BYU and fans who are delusional to think that BYU football
is a consistent top 10 program. You guys talk a big game but when it comes down
to it you lose to Utah St.
At FlynnUSC has more talent.....10 players drafted and BYU none.
USC #5 recruiting class and BYU....where? All of tis from a UCLA alum...just
sayin'PAC 10 37 players drafted and MWC 11...good thing Wyo had one
player drafted (BYU zero)....don't put BYU and Wyoming in the same
