No, thanks, Mitt -- don't need you, don't want you.
Great Man. It won't happen, because who needs a great business anyways. It's
not like we're in any sort of financial troubles.Barack will
continue to spend like crazy, and we'll be ok with it because he's promised it
will work. "I will cut the deficit in half in four
year"barack obamaThe joke hasn't even been close
Vote for Romney so he can send more jobs overseas. In addition, he will
legalize gay marriage nationwide and insure we keep our new National Health Care
Chris B, I genuinely like your comment.
As a candidate, Mitt has flaws. However, I will vote for him unless a better
candidate surfaces. Obama is a disaster and needs to be a one-term president.
These egotistical maniacs will never be able to accept the truth, so........They have to "explore" because they did not like the answer they
received the first time. They will continue to "explore and study",
"explore and study", until the money is gone(and who's money are they
using, anyway?). Their brains do not appear to work like the rest of the
human race. Some of these guys, Mr. Romney and Mr. Gingrich, for instance,
just cannot understand, "NO, WE ARE NOT INTERESTED", for an answer.
Mr. Romney is admirable and would make a great president; he should be
congratulated for having worked in the "private sector" all his
life." I wish Utah's Senators and Congressmen (excluding Matheson of
course) had the same passion and experience and resume in the private sector.
'SALT LAKE CITY Mitt Romney announced Monday he is forming an exploratory
committee for a 2012 presidential run, a key step in what would be his second
White House bid.' - Article Who is ACTUALLY running? Not
just saying they are, to get your money.
Enough with career politicians in Washington. Let's elect someone who
understands fiscal responsibility--someone who knows what it means to run a
business and manage a budget. Bush Jr. was a fiscal socialist, and Obama is far,
far worse. The spending must stop if we are to maintain the fantastic standard
of living we enjoy in the US.
I thought he already did this. Or am I mixing this up with last time? What
exactly would an exploratory committee do that hasn't already been done? We've
been seeing polls and speculative opinion pieces for months now.
As long as the winner of the 2012 election is not Obama or Pelosi, we as a
nation will be better off that we are now. If Romney wins, all the better. He
has the knowledge and experience to set this country on the right track. If he
doens't win, then it shows that America's priorities are messed up big time. I
Romney runs and doesn't win, I will ignore all complaints by democrats about the
economy being in poor shape. For all the success Obama has had, we
might as well have elected Steve Young. Young would have probably done the job
let me help out Romneys committe I will not vote for Mitt Romney -- and his
religion has nothing to do with it I would rather go through another 4 yrs of
This is so interesting the way all the crabs (who like to pull others down)come
out in force whenever there's an article about Mitt. Mitt is the
candidate most qualified with both private sector success and executive public
sector experience. He's been making all the right moves in preparing himself
for this new run. I hope he makes it. Ronald Reagan didn't make it the first
time either. He came back after four years of Carter and won in a landslide. I
think Obama is even more of a dismal failure than Carter and we can't afford
four more years of destructive incompetence. We REALLY need Mitt's
ability. And.....he doesn't have a messy personal life as some other candidates
If Mitt runs, I will definitely vote for him. I believe he has the financial
experience and savvy to lead us out of the quagmire we are in. Of course, it
would not happen overnight, since we didn't get here overnight. But he has a
great track record when it comes to rescuing corporations in distress, or the
Utah Olympics, for example, and corporate America...and that includes all of us,
since we all deal with multiple corporations...definitely needs rescuing. No
candidate is perfect, but I like Mitt, and although I don't have any money
thanks to reduced working hours and increased expenses, so therefore I can't
donate, I will get to the polls and vote.
Last time MItt(Is he some famous baseball player?), wanted to run for
President, he told the public " The really great thing is" MITT IS
VERY WEALTHY AND CAN PAY FOR MOST OF HIS PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN".Just
now checked out his Internet campaign site......Mitt is asking for
donations of $10-$2,500. Credit card and payments ok(Oh, boy!). He wants all of
our personal information, as well.Ok, now were not we all impressed with
him in the last campaign because of what is written in the very first
sentence!!!!! What kind of money is he making nowadays? How are his
businesses doing now? Has he closed any? Sent any overseas? Laid off workers?
Read he recently sold a fabulous home he owned in the Park City area.Sounds like Mitt may be experiencing something "different" with his
finances. How can he be "THE ONE " we need as our President?
Out of all the Presidential candidates to date, including the 'anointed one'
Mitt Romney is the most qualified to lead our country out of the disaster of
Bush/Obama. Please run and please run over the oppostion.
Looking at Mitt and judging him as an economic leader I feel like Mitt is the
best of the bunch - on either side. I think Mitt has the experience, and the
record as both a governor and CEO to make a pretty strong case. I really don't
see anyone out there that is better.. or even close. You migth argue that Mitt
has a problem with RomneyCare and other issues but I think the BIGGEST issue for
most Americans is the economy. It's not just jobs its also lower taxes and
dumping Obama regulations on business that is destroying everyones wealth. I
trust Mitt. Will he get elected? Probably not but he is the best candidate.
Actually, I would have to say the most qualified person eligible to run for
President would be George H.W. Bush. I wish he would run with Bill Clinton as
his running mate. If you're really interested in experience, it doesn't get any
better than that.
Enough with career politicians?Romney is the son of George W. Romney (the
former Governor of Michigan) and Lenore Romney. He ran as the Republican
candidate in the 1994 U.S. Senate election in Massachusetts but lost to
incumbent Edward M. Kennedy. Romney won the election for Governor of
Massachusetts in 2002, but did not seek reelection in 2006. He signed into
law the landmark Massachusetts health care reform legislation, which provided
near-universal health insurance access via subsidies and state-level mandates.
During the course of his political career, his positions or
rhetorical emphasis shifted more towards American conservatism in several areas,
though his stances on many other issues have been inconsistentCandidate
for the Republican nomination in the 2008 U.S. presidential election.Another Career politician.
they have this same news story over on Fox News. you should take a moment to
view some of the comments being posted there to get an idea how the conservative
crowd outside of Utah feels about Mitt. be forewarned though, it isn't pretty.
Nice try Dixie Dan.Mitt is creating jobs in AMERICA.Mitt is
PRO traditional marriage.Mitt is has said, REPEAL OBAMA CARE.
Shocked!! Shocked at the news!!! Glad I was sitting down when I heard it.He can't get to the nomination for various reasons. Shall we go through
them again class? Too liberal (middle of the road really) in Mass.Made
too much money wiping out businesses. None of the sons have any military
experience or record (but then again sons like father, no?). Hair is actually
plastic. Too stiff by half. Walks like a very rich man and talks like a robot.
Is Mormon and still can't explain how SLC will not control him when crunch time
comes. GOP right wing is filled with southern baptists, or catholics, or...
evangelicals from tiny tiny churches to megachurches.Obama must be
giggling, laughing, and enjoying the evening. Mitt could win if he
was........... wait for it.......... wait.... wait... a registered Democrat.
I would like to vote for Mitt.Which Mitt would it be?I
better form an exploratory committee...
There is much more to Romney than the very short interviews on news programs. His book "No Apology" portrays a balanced candidate.
(Snickers are permitted). However, I am not sure he is the best one.
I do also like Paul Ryan, Marco Rubio, Chris Cristie, and (yes) even Jeb Bush.
Too bad these guys state that they are not running (at least in 2012). And I
learn to know more about them. What I am fed up with is the
arrogance/pride/ego, the half-truths, and the unstated deception/guile of most
politicians. I want a candidate that is honest, has integrety, is open,
explains things clearly (will refer me to website "xyz" for more
details).I will vote for the one that is the most humble, meek,
candid, experienced, and teaches/instructs when (s)he does speak. The one that
sets a proper example for kids/adults/citizens, and is a straight shooter.Maybe it's Mitt. Maybe not.
Ooh, I like Romney. Wait which Romney is running, liberal romney or conservative
@Cats"This is so interesting the way all the crabs (who like to
pull others down)..."" I think Obama is even more of a

the current WH occupant, Obama. Keep that in mind.@Happy Valley
Heretic:"...his stances on many other issues have been

occupant. His is legion."Another Career politician."Four years as Massachusetts governor does not a career politician make.
If you think Romney flip-flops, Obama's flip-flops would fill several pages of
single space type-written lines. If you think Romney's Massachusetts
government health care is tantamount to Obamacare, think again. If there is to
be government run health care, that decision should be at the state level...
like Massachusetts... not at the federal level.
I have to say my research on Pawlenty, despite the lack of name recognition,
would give him the edge. A two-term governor who stood up to
Democratic-controlled legislature, winning some major battles, and in a state
that brings more electoral votes and weight to the national discourse than does
Utah.He has been much more forthright about his own flip-flop,
related to his early support for cap and trade programs, which he now says is
just plain stupid.Still, one has to welcome Romney's contributions,
if he plans any, regarding policies that would influence job growth and sanity
as regards the budget.
This is not what folks in Utah want to hear, but....Mitt is Just
another politician who had not the courage, when the present administration was
championing a version of health care reform that was just like the one he backed
while governor, to speak up for what is right. For Mitt it is politics over the
needs and wants of the people.Mitt will always be a fringe candidate
because he will never ever have the backing of the rank and file conservative
Republican, especially in the south and midwest bible belt areas. This country doesn't Governor Flip Flop, we need a man of courage and vision.
Mitt possesses neither.
OK, ok. No one wants to talk about the girl that Mitt is brining to the dance.
Mormonism. Mitt cannot get elected outside of Utah, Idaho, and maybe, maybe
Nevada because of his out-of-the-mainstream faith: Mormonism. You
can talk 'til you drop. Christians will not support him. The previous
primaries were a peace rally compared to what will come in the 2012 race if Mitt
is the GOP candidate. The wing nuts of the GOP are hard core believers in what
they perceived, right or wrong, as "Christianity." They will tunnel
underneath the feet of Mitt, both in a primary and a general election. In a general election, Mitt has to have a vp candidate. That has to be
a conservative, and that isn't gonna happen. Can Mitt be a vp candidate
then?NO. In one word, NO. Who would risk their election by adding a
Mormon? I just don't see the candidate, unless you are talking Trump. And that
combination is beyond humerous. Way beyond Mars actually. But
dreaming is good for the soul. So... dream on. But Mitt's date to the dance is
really a leg iron.
Thanks Mitt!signed:All Democrats
I really don't understand why so many people have such an inflated and
unrealistic opinion of Mitt. He's not admirable, he's not qualified, he's not
eithical and he's not good for most of the people in the country (with the
exception of the "haves" and "have mores", to use George
Walker Bush's terminology). He is He's a politician, nothint more nothing
less, and will say and promise anything he has to in order to be elected. We
I hear alot of people for and aganist Romney for President, but I hear nothing
in regards to which potential canadit they would choose over him. We have seen
what Obama's politics has gotten this country, it doesn't work and it's bad for
this country. Personally, from all the individuals that are considering running
for office, Romney seems to be the best choice.
I would take the man serious if only he actually present a plan. But to this
date, all he has stated is talking points and rants against Obama. Anyone can
do that.Where is the plan? Where is the detail? What is he
actually going to do differently than anyone else over the last 30 years? He
surely isn't trying to unify the country. I will wait for him to actually
propose something that is actionable. Until then, this is just another ego trip
for a wealthy American who wants to be voted the Classes Most Popular.
To whatnext | 8:00 a.m. April 12, 2011 "I hear alot of people
for and aganist Romney for President, but I hear nothing in regards to which
potential canadit they would choose over him."---------------------------That's easy. Jon Huntsman, Jr. who is
a TRUE conservative, and willing to take (and hold to) difficult positions when
that is the right thing to do. He has far more political (and ethical) guts,
and far more qualifications, than Mitt could dream of having.
Mitt has been told "no" but he has not heard.Fortunately
people outside of Utah can see through him and even though he has been promoting
himself non-stop over the past 4 years that alone does not make him presidential
material.Huckaby figured out how to unseat him last time, does
anyone think he has forgot how to do that? Only Mitt.
The only thing that matters for our country is budget and deficit. Regardless
of what you like whether it is the environment, budget, gay marriage, abortion,
national parks, medicare, social security etc. it takes money for all of those
things. The country is out of money. To survive, cuts must be made and Obama
is not the person to do that.
Mitts detractors focus on the companies he failed to save. Most companies that
approached Bain Capital were dying and needed expert assistance to stay alive.
Even the best cancer doctors lose patients. The amazing and admirable part of
Mitts business career is that he managed to help such a high percentage of
companies that otherwise would have died. Liberals and socialists who have no
idea how business works have a hard time comprehending Mitts success.
As a Mormon, Mitt Romney should be leading the charge toward the restoration of
constitutional principles to our government. I hope that Mormon voters will
acquaint themselves with their responsibility to the principles of the original
US Constitution and their preservation, and then compare them with Mitt Romney's
track record in the political arena.
@JeanPierreAs a Mormon, I don't need you or anyone else haning my
religion over my head and telling me how to vote.
The Republican Party needs a well balanced candidate, one that is true to the
core values of the party. So far none of the "potential" candidates
show those core values. Until the Republican Party can shed it's self of the
likes of the Tea Party, Fox news and conservative commentators that keep the pot
boiling so they don't lose their ratings it is not doing it's self any good.
There is far more to being President than being a financial advisor. Romney and
Huckabee have already run their race, we didn't want them before why would we
want them now? Find some one with the core values that is a true Republican.
And please don't vote for anyone just because of their religion.
The next politician to skip the exploratory comitte is going to get a big bump
in guts credibility. Someone just come out punching for once.
What is Mitt's "economic experience" really? He takes over
and sells off failing companies. So? Obama did that with several US
automotive companies, and a number of large banks.Mitt has nothing
on Obama in that department.
