Well it is time, Jimmer will be level headed and taken it all one game at a
time, one opponent, one half, one finish away smooth Jimmerkeepin his head out
of the clouds and on the prize baby !!
Jimmer's greatness = expectations.1st round loss - All time BYU choke2nd round loss - Major chokeSweet Sixteen loss - Under achievedBYU
has not had a #3 seed since Ainge. If they can not get to the elite eight or
final four with the best player in their programs history when will they?
Dick, thanks for the great article. This kid (Jimmer Fredette) is a refreshing
entity in athletics today. Many are enthralled with Jimmer (and his family)
because of who they are.The statement above does not mean that the
Fredette's have a corner on this way of life - they don't. There are good
people "everywhere" and in every program. We must seek out and
highlight those that do display forms of true humanity, ethics, and abilities,
with great appreciation. My mother always encouraged me to "do
the right thing" and remember that sports should prepare one for life.
One's attitude is important beyond athletics. Please find a portion
of a poem my mother once gave to me. (The Victor)If you think you
are beaten, you are.If you think you dare not, you don't.If you'd
like to win, but you think you can'tIt's almost certain you won't.(2 verses, not included here due to limited space).Life's
battles won't always go To the strongest or fastest man,But, soon or
late, the man who winsIs the man who thinks he can. Thanks to
all the examples!
No matter how the next few weeks pan out, a big THANK YOU to the whole BYU
basketball team for one exciting year. We all learned a lot this season. True
champions are true champions. They shine on and off the court. We (all BYU dom)
have been through a lot and have come out shining. You can't take away all the
wins, you can't take away all the hype that has happened and thank goodness you
can't take away the admiration of the world for doing all they have done with
class and honesty. No matter what happens, BYU will be looked at with memories
of a school who does things the right way.
and end...Enjoy your last day of it cougars. I know I will.
"No matter how the next few weeks pan out"Eddie,I think you meant to say the next few "days".
Congratulations to Jimmer and the team for making it to the NCAA Tournament.
Regardless to what happens it has been a great season. A BIG thank
you to Jimmer in deciding to play one more year for the Cougars. It will always
be a season to remember. Just to see this kid score 52 points was something to
behold.Good luck today against Wofford!
Jimmer has a huge heart and a tremendous talent that his critics and detractors
just don't possess or understand and probably never will! Greatness in others
angers them somehow or makes them very jealous!Anyone ever notice that it is
always the lesser person who does do? A truly superior personality can easily
recognize real greatness in others while a lesser person is flumaxed, confused
and irritatated by it! Go Cougars!
How funny, Kay (mom) got Jimmered and she is loving it. Just enjoy having one
happy family Fredette's.
I wonder which eastern European powerhouse Jimbob will be playing for next year?
I can honestly say that a first or second round exit will be a disappointment.
Having said that, even if the Cougs lose in the first weekend it
will be a season that will go down in history, especially in my family. My mother-in-law has been battling cancer since last summer and will more than
likey not survive. This BYU team has given her and I something to look forward
too. Something to take our minds off of the reality of her situation. Something
we can take pride in together and something we can truly enjoy together during
this horrible time in her life and the lives of her children and grandchildren.
She has been a life long Cougar fan and it was something that connected us
immediately the day she and I met 3 years ago. Here's to a long run
in the tourney. Thank you, Jimmer. Thank you, Jackson. Thank you, Coach Rose.
You have been putting a smile on the face of my mother-in-law all season long.
BrakForm a club with the other Utah trolls and you can all wonder
@sports-junkie - Bless your heart both of you and enjoy while they last. Oh,
Jimmer will be around longer no matter where he ends up in NBA. I followed Danny
Ainge for a long time and hope she can do the same with Jimme and as well with
Jax and Dave Rose.
Thank you Coach Rose, Jimmer, Jackson and the rest of the Cougar team for a
tremendously fun Winter!Good luck today and in the rest of the
tournament. Go have fun!
Brak | 8:47 a.m. March 17, 2011 Fruit Heights, UT I wonder which
eastern European powerhouse Jimbob will be playing for next year? ===I'm guessing that with the money he makes he can travel, and play
basketball, para-sail, waterski anywhere he chooses.Utes are now so
obsessed they are worried where Jimmer will vacation? What's your
Finally - BYU and the Jimmer Show on primetime, national network television. It's been a memorable season for BYU fans.Good luck in the
Big Dance Cougars!It's Jimmertime!
@hedgehog"I think you meant to say the next few
"days"."That is the real problem now isn't it! You
were "thinking".We BYU fans think of the future, as in
more than just a day or two. You can only handle one little thing at a time. Try
planning and living for the future. If your team plays a game and comes up
short, all is lost and you spend the next few months in a deep depression and
you don't come out of your parents basement for the rest of the season. When BYU loses, we look for the next conference championship. I know that is
hard for some teams, but we at BYU are used to winning and expect a wonderful
It is going to be sweet to see what happens after the Jimmer graduates. I think
that Jimmer will make more money with indorsements the first year than all of
the utes will make the rest of their lives. Companies are lining up to sign him
to very large sums of $$$ to get him to endorse their products. A good, clean
living kid will laugh all the way to the bank with that along with a nice NBA
Troll 1 and Troll 2. have you gotten your daily allowance of attention yet!you sound more desperate with each post. Rollin with the trollin, zealous with
the jealous, unconfessed but still obsessed and transparent as glass with lack
of class. It is not that amusing anymore. Just sad and boring.
Laughing out loud at the jealous temper tantrums being thrown by the trolls!Never in their wildest dreams have they ever conceived of anything close
to Jimmermania up on the hill, but somehow they're "experts" on what
constitutes a great season.Laughable.BYU has already had
a GREAT season. Jimmer and company are just adding icing to the cake
in the Big Dance.
TJ? TJ Fredette is that you?
"BYU has already had a GREAT season."Riddles in the dark (
is this a '80's new wave band?),I wonder if Duke, NC, KU, UCLA would
say the same thing?Somehow I think their definition of
"great" is a little different.
It's done.First game over. . . by 8.And if you think,
"Well, BYU isn't that good to only win by 8 agains Wofford." Well,
think again. Bellmont was that close to Wisconsin (similar seeings). And ask
Kentucky about their close one. And ask Louisville in Denver! They
played good against a good team that could have beaten some others.
why is utah involved in this? next year jimmer out- a bunch of average guys
