Nice to see Utah getting some respect from outside media. Why haven't
the Jazz ever gone after Andre Miller?
I look for BYU to have a lot more big plays this year than the Ewetes. Heaps
will be able to throw it downfield and we've got a stable of RBs where as Utah
has nothing. On top of that, they'll now be playing in the
"invincible" PAC-12 and will find long plays much harder to come by.
I look for utah to have fewer next year..."UCLA and new Ute
offensive coordinator Norm Chow ranked 116th with 31 explosive plays last
I look for the U to have a balanced offensive attack and control the time of
possession. I look for the Y and its opponents to have lots of
TECMO Bowl scores.
Hondo,I didn't see BYU mentioned in this article. Oh, that's right,
it wasn't about BYU.
hondo,Try to keep your "comparisons" to other mid major
"in DEPENDENT" schools like Army and Navy.Going foward BYU
means nothing to the "conference of champion" Utes.I know
it hurts but life will go on.
Mormon UteIs he one of ours? I've read a couple of his posts and I
thought he was being sarcastic. Either way, it's annoying.
Does anyone know if Jimmer practiced today?
Mormon Ute,I thought I'd fill in the details for you guyssince
you guys have nothing to talk about and we've got an exciting season to look
forward to. It's going to be miserable to have a QB with the name Wynn (Win)
when you'll be doing a lot of losing, especially when you visit LES this
I am afraid the Utes never measure up to any competition. What a shame. Utes the
future bottom feeder of the PAC.
HondoPlease stop trying to stir up contention.Go
I love hearing about the "Ute Trolls" or "there is no such thing
as a Utah fan, just a BYU hater". Clearly there are those who fall into the
troll category on both sides. Thanks for keeping it classy fresnogirl. That said, I believe (and hope) that the Ute offense won't change too
drastically under Chow. I see him as being more of an adviser to guide us
through the first year or two of the PAC-12 before he retires.
Thiller,I tend to agree with you about Chow. I think he's here only
a couple of years to advise. I don't thin Roddrick would have stuck around if he
felt that was not the case.
With Chow mentoring our young offensive coaches I see our QB, WR and TE play
improving next year and making us very competitive in our division of the
PAC-12. I'm excited to see the improvement in the QB play in particular.
Hey hedge, how are the BYU cougs doing tonight against CSU, your riveted on the
game I know. These Utesies are cellar dwellers next year in the Pac-
whoza muh whats its anyways. Wynnie can't throw, can't run. Who they got
to back him up when he goes down agai?. Mark it down.
I'm excited for next year for sure! It's going to be fun seeing how things pan
out for the Utes! I love Wynn at quarterback. When he is healthy, he has shown
that he can certainly make throws. And I'm not concerned about our backfield,
we seem to have quite a bit of talent coming in, so hopefully they can overcome
any experience issues and be real strong for us!Go Utes!
Wow!!!! Nice to see all the zoobies quit their idol (Jimmer) worship long enough
to come on a Utah topic board long enough to start talking about how much better
they are, followed by my fellow Ute fans retorting said claims of greatnesses,
followed by said zoobies talking about how obsessed we are with them..... on a
Utes topic board..... will this pattern ever get old???
the trolling problem can be taken care of with an "ignore user"
button. Also, some users need to be marked by comment screeners to make sure
that their posts are acceptable. Finally people just need to not respond to
people who troll.
Spring ball is just around the corner. Not sure there has ever been a more
important off-season/spring practice season for the Utes or the Cougars. Lots of
new coaches, new schemes, new faces, new schedules to prepare for.It
will be great to watch Chow put the offense in - to the extent Kyle gives some
access to the fans for scrimmages. Also will be fun to see how Harvey stacks up
as an early enrollee freshman. A lot to ask of a youngster. Big adjustment. He
is an amazing talent though. Will be an awfully important spring for
Heaps down in Provo. He built a lot of momentum up over the last half of the
2010 season and he needs to establish himself as the veteran leader. Has anyone
heard how the winter workouts are going? I imagine the receivers will come into
spring ball having caught a million passes from Heaps and the drops will be less
this year. Big spring for Heaps.Would have also been very important
for Wynn, but his injury is huge. Quite a set-back. Maybe Rhobles will step up?
Hondo Bro. Note the following statement from another Utah County clone
: AribaD | 9:06 p.m. Feb. 23, 2011Spanish Fork, UTAgain, BYU fans, a reminder. Please ignore the Ute trolls. It is hard to call
them Ute fans for they are not. They are BYU haters. They are pathetic. Ignore
them.Hondo, Please take note of one of your blue bloods and
their postings. What does your comment have to do with the article ? Kindly save your wind for the hot soup and enjoy this years Cougar
basketball success. Let us enjoy the Pac 12. Your team should have a good year
in football with 7 home games and the likes of New Mexico State and Louisiana
Tech to name a few powerhouses that will be in your house. Whittingham has
assembled a good staff with some promising young players. A year or two in the
new conference should bring even better players. I am waiting for the NFL draft
to see how many Utes are taken this year. Last year there were 6 out of the 22
starters(27%). That's always a good reflection of where the program is headed.
For crying out loud, what an idiotic statistic, and how it applies to Utah going
to the PAC-10.2 is just a bunch of bologna. All of Utah's big
'explosive' plays were against 'cupcakes'! Everyone knows it and how this is
indicative of future Ute play in the PAC-10.2 is purely speculative. Now if some of those plays were against TCU, ND or BSU this story might have
some merit. Totally worthless statistic and story for the Utes going to the
Utah should of stayed in the MWC, where they could be the BCS buster once every
four years. They will have no shot at winning the PAC. The PAC really messed up
big time letting the basement of the Big 12, and little sisters of the poor in
the conference. What's even worse is they put them in the same division as USC
and UCLA! Why do the newbies who don't add much to the conference get special
treatment. Larry Scott's plan to get Texas would of been sweet if he pulled it
off, but he didn't so he went for plan E. Utah is going to find out what it's
like to have to play USC, Stanford, Oregon, Oregon State, even Washington is
getting better under Sark, week in and week out. It's much tougher than UNLV,
Wyoming, New Mexico, and Air Force. Depending on the Utes out of conference
schedule they may make it to the Las Vegas Bowl(5th place in the PAC). Weather
permitting I'll be at the OSU-Utah game watching the Beavers rout the Utes.
