Wow... you mean we're actually going to hold businesses accountable to obey the
law? Who woulda thunk it?
I hope the bill includes hiring "Day Workers" and the ever present
"Independent Contractor." These two titles are one of the employers
favorite tricks in not having to pay taxes on illegals that they hire. It also
reduces their Workers Compensation premium as they have less employees.
Comments like "penalties are too harsh" and "a burden on
employers" are simply a ruse and are not at all true. As a
multiple business owner it is neither difficult nor a burden to follow the rules
that this bill would require. I gladly allow employees time off to take care of
important and critical needs. I9's and e-verify are tools to make it
easy to avoid hiring illegal individuals. UNLESS you want to hire them, which is
A great day in utah!
It looks like La Migra is finally coming for the Illegals!
Before handing out 'guest worker" permits lets put the AMERICAN/English
speaking people to work first. If they speak another language that is secondary
that they are fluent in such as french, german, spanish, greek, etc - great but
lets get the citizens of this country to work first.
Making it 15 employee's or more is a compromise that should not of happened.
Federal law says any business can be fined. And changing shall to may puts the
decision into the hands of our Attorney General, who promised he would not
enforce immigration related laws. When are we going to take American
jobs back for Americans, and stop pandering to those here for jobs?
Why limit the application of the law to companies of 15 or more employees?? If
it is the law it should apply to every employer of any size company. Of course
most illegals will escape through the cracks because most small compsnies employ
less than 15 people.
re: JBRADY - I agree with you 100%leaving it up to 15 employees leave a
back door open for them to still get a job without haveing to prove anything..
this is nuts..And if that Attorney General still wants their job they
better have a change of heart about not enforcing the immigration laws.
It's a start if enforced. That's my fear, it won't be enforced.
Why just emloyers? Why not anyone who does business with an illegal? Blatant
15 is too many, 1 should be the standard
Just wait and see...One (or more) big businesses are going to give
Herbie a big bribe and he will VETO this bill if it comes across his desk.
