For the life of me I can't see why growing a beard would be against BYU's honor
code. What an inane policy.
Actaully it is only an honor code violation if you do not have a medical release
and anyone that has gone to BYU knows how easy it is to get one of those
Somewhere in here Jeff someone is confused about Dress code verses Honor code.
There's a huge difference...but not enough to really make a story out
of...Yawn... who cares!!!Scoobie
Just keep on winning and time will tell where BYU belong in the seeding. Nothing
wrong with the honor code and yes if you get the medical thing will pass it.
After losing to SDSU in San Diego, BYU will be a #2 seed only if it wins the MWC
tournament, which I doubt will happen due to fatigue that seems to be dragging
on certain players. Haven't seen much offense lately from Collingsworth,
Hartsock, or Emery. Davies needs to play at his best ALL game, not just for one
half. Jimmer can only carry the team on his back for so long. It is TRULY
AMAZING what he has done while being double teamed and physically guarded by
rotating shifts of the other teams' best defenders. Still don't know if he is
the best player in BYU history (vs. Ainge), but Jimmer is definitely having the
best single year of any BYU player EVER and probably the best two consecutive
years EVER. He should have been allowed to start half way through his freshman
year. Very surprised Rose didn't do that.
BobP: BYU's beard policy is an archaich remnant left over from the 60's when a
beard actually was symbolic of rebellion against all that is good and
If you are encumbered by either the dress code or the honor code at BYU, don't
apply for admission! There are hundreds of other men who would love to take your
place on campus but were denied for whatever reason(usually academics). Simple,
#2 seed is really, really optimistic. I think they would have to win out
(highly unlikely), and win the tournament (also unlikely at Las Vegas), then
maybe a #3 or #4 seed. Historically they just don't get much respect from the
NCAA when it come to seeding for the tourney. They always end up getting seeded
about 2 places lower then what most sports analysts predict. That is just the
way it is. When all is said and done I predict a #6 seed. I hope I'm wrong.
