I was at the game against Dallas. Almost single handledly brought us back with 3 three's like in the last 10 seconds or something like that.

Brad, thanks for the reference to the 2008 sec tournament

This kid was incredible, I remember him. The year Georgia was like 7-20 and coming in to the tournament. A hurricane just missed the arena by minutes after they won like a semifinal game in the tournament

A game that could have been affected I think was ot and if Georgia not pulled that out, the arena safety and spectators could have been in danger, but they all got out in time.

The story is not fully clear but something along those lines

The point is "toughness and fortitude" he had it

MY question how could he not be drafted?

My critics who rip me because i wanted Maynor--

My hope was DWIL and Maynor could have played together because I thought Eric would be a better off guard than point.

    I like versatile "COmbo types"

The fact Sundiata can do both is attractive and yes Kevin does "a good job finding undrafting free agents"

If he was as clever in handling contracts and making timely trades that could help the club, then I would rate him far better as GM

I wish Gaines well great story

I wish I would've seen this one. I saw the comeback from 32 down v Denver, I watched Stock hit a long three to put the Bulls into ot and then Jordan gag on two free throws that put the ball back in Stock's hands for the dagger and then MJ melted down with .05 on the clock, got run, and little Malone nailed the ft's to put it away. I watched USU come back down 6 with :20 left at the Spectrum to beat a ranked Long Beach team with Bryon Russell, but last night could've been a topper to them all.

Gaines: I looked it up, somewhat accurate. Georgia was 13-16 for the season and last 4-12 in the SEC division they were in.

The SEC tournament was to take place at The Georgia Dome. After a quarterfinal game ended, a tornado centered over another part of Atlanta just missing the arena. That night Georgia was to play Kentucky,

The game was moved to the following day on short notice to noon. The game was moved to Georgia tech where the damage was not as severe.

    Gaines won a "doubleheader"

His team won the Noon game. Came back at night to win the "second game semifinal"

His team the following afternoon won the tournament to go on and play but lose to Xavier in NCAA tournament.

Gaines played 3 games in "30 hours"

He scored 69 points in the 4 games and won "tournament MVP"

lets name him MVP, omg get over this already!

Gaines made a great shot and is a wonderful story, no doubt. However, much more should be said about Korver's off-balance over-the-backboard shot just prior to that. That was more amazing!

KOC and Sloan have gotten their fair share of criticism in the past. I, for one, give them both credit where credit is due for making the call to get this kid instead of another "known" commodity.

I agree, lets get this other game goin already and move on. this story is being way over saturated. yes it was a good game from a rookie, good for him, but its 2 days over now. this is old news, there's nothing new to report on it anymore, move on!

This IS the NBA. It's all about the show - Stearn has left an irrevocable mark on the professional game. It's nice to see the Jazz on a winning side of the story for a change. If I saw the shot right, it's too bad for Yada - two years ago Larry would have been sitting right there - and signed him to a long term deal before the confetti hit the floor!

I guess the Jazz did the right thing bringing in Gaines instead of me.

you have got to be kidding me. Korver deserves all the paper. Everyone remembers that one shot by gaines but did you remember why the cavs were coming back in the first place. it was gaines trying to out dribble mo williams on every play and mo williams shutting him down. 2 turnovers and many long shot clocks with no good shots. jazz fans?

    Nice kid.

    SEC Tournament MVP.

Hope he gets a contract. He fits the Jazz mold. Tough minded and a performer...

nice to see someone take advantage of an opportunity.

I think that KOC is getting better at his job as is Sloan. Wes Mathews wouldn't be playing as a rookie , nor Gaines for that matter in crunch time. Where did KOC find Mathews ? And then there is Gaines, who is doing very well with minutes he's given.
What did Santa stuff in their stockings on Christmas? Did they watch several of the re-runs of The Wizard of Oz? Suddenly the two seem to have courage, brains, and heart, right out of the Tin man, The Scare Crow, and the Lion.
I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore Toto.

I do wish though Sloan could play the big boys off the bench a lot more when we are up by 20 with little time on the clock.
