wow! have to go back to 1984, isn't that coincidental.
...wake up call. Just because its the U doesn't mean they can just sit on (or
fall in this case) their laurels. Time to wake up and step it up!
They better work harder if they are going to win the National Championship this
year like they said they would last year.
I have been a season ticket holder for 15 years and I have watched the UTES
gradually get weaker and weaker as a team. Their recruits aren't the top notch
athletes they have had in the past. (Their lastest add on from Brighton High is
a prime example!) I think Greg is a great coach, but he seems to have lost his
motivation. He says in the article he has done the same exact thing for
years...well, maybe it is time to chance his approach? I will be there again
this season, and I will patiently listen to the announcer tell us how many
championships we have won, but I won't hold my breath this year!
It's time to bring back Coach Majerus!
2nd in the nation 3 of the last 4 years, that's really poor performance...
PS This years senior class was considered the best recruiting class in the
nation that year.
Utah has placed in the top five for many years and something that fans have to
keep in mind is that through the years the disparity between teams is shrinking.
Utah, Georgia, UCLA, and Alabama will probably continue to be in the top when
it comes to rankings and standing at nationals, but many other schools are
becoming more competitive and recruits are choosing to go to other school rather
than go to the big four. So while we have not won a championship for a while it
is getting harder and harder to not only win a national championship, but also
to remain at the top at the end of the season. Each year Utah has found a way
to remain competitive and that is very respectable.
