It's so sad that those of us in the workplace and at home are trying to be less
of a liaability on heatlth care by eating right and exercising. Then you look
outside and there are so many poisons in our air that our government officials
have allowed that exercising seems a bit useless.
make a bicycle model and I am there
Wow, what a great idea! Please keep reporting on the progress of this -- I would
love my workplace to go for it.
After exercising, you feel energized. After sitting for hours, you actually
feel tired. A body at rest tends to stay at rest. A body in motion tends to
stay in motion. I sit for 7 hours a day at a desk -- I would love to be able to
walk (or bike) instead. At this slow pace -- 1.2 miles per hour -- you wouldn't
be out of breath to answer the phone and you wouldn't be sweating (and therefore
unpleasant to be around in the office).
Who is the manufacture of the desk that she is using?
The manufacturer is TrekDesk. As a work-from-home parent, I just got one from
Amazon and have been using it for almost 2 weeks. I hop on and off as I do
other household tasks and work; sometimes I forget to restart the treadmill but
I'm sure that will improve as I get used to my new system. Overall, it isn't
too hard to work and walk but I have had to stop a few times for some work that
required more concentration. The surface area accommodates my monitor and it has
lots of desk space, but no place to secure a CPU. The cost is $479 (yikes!) so I
debated a while but eventually decided my health was worth it.
I'm not sure this was a part of the future anyone envisioned-walking into an
office building to be greeted by a secretary on a treadmill, then being directed
to the meeting racetrack followed by a discussion with the CEO on his stationary
bike. Maybe "Wall-E" won't be the future after all...
This is awesome!! I like what the other poster said, if they have a cycle one,
sign me up as well!!! I wish my work had stuff like this.
i have a bike desk, built for me by a friend. it's basically a tall-boy table,
wood, high-enough to fit over the handlebars. used it in college, when i was
enrolled in beyond maximum-permitted course hours. saved my sanity. try it.
you'll love it!
This story was all over the local media months ago and you are just getting to
it? Great Job!
This project should get FULL funding!!!!!
