no! no! no! BOOOO!!!! Fire KOC!! Lazy, terrible! BOOOO!!!!
KOC listened to you. He took your man. Now can you tell him to tank the season
so we can get JOHN WALL.
Boring. Way to delay the inevitable. We don't need the Knick's pick. We will go
get it ourselves.
Maybe a good move who knows. Better than the old guard, good Kevin for
once....But let us see now if he can or will be given "chance to play"He was on that Georgia team that went like 7-20 and won the Southeastern
Conference Tournament, when that tornado nearly blew the building the tournament
Has anyone else noticed that since trading Maynor the Jazz are 1-4 and the bench
has been terrible?
Who's this guy? Should've signed Jefferson. The Jazz better make a trade soon or
it's over this season for the franchise.
Who knows, maybe this Gaines kid ends up being a better player then Price. His
stats are definitely impressive. He might be thrown to the fire right away if
D-Will can't play. I still think a trade(s) is in the works however
before the deadline.
This is too funny. The Jazz have officially hit rock bottom. Hahaha, I love it,
Hahaha, I'm laighing so hard,I cannot breathe!!! Before you know it,
the Jazz will be a D-Laegue team as well. The West Valley Blues, baby!!!
wow,our season is saved!!!!!
This kid better be ready to come out and play!! not only play but play hard!!
Bring some energy to the team!! good luck Gaines
6'1'' ?? Don't know who this guy is, so not going to comment on him ...but is he
really better than the other guy from the flash that had some size? Looks like
they just went out and got a guy who will fill the 13th player spot rather than
someone that can actually help this team.
that's great! We get another player that Sloan won't play. I would bench all
the starters and play the younger players. What have we got to loose. We are
loosing anyway. We ought to see what they can do so we can determine if we want
to keep them of get some one else. We seem to just fill up roster spots with
players that won't get to play. This year is a joke. The joke will be on the
Miller family when the season tickets don't sell next year. I'm not sure what
needs to happen but when you do what you always do you will get the same results
that you always get. Good luck Jazz. I hope you at least get the lottery pick.
Good move KOC. a ten day contract to a bench player. It buys him time to try
and find something better or to do a trade later and not be locked to a
season-long contract. As far as I am concerned, it didn't matter who he signed,
they are not playing. For those who don't like this move, too bad.
what the? jazz you need some help.... maynor was great!!!! good luck new
This is an audition. There may be more. The Jazz know exactly what
they have in Jefferson. There is no need to audition Jefferson for 10 days. Gaines can shoot. He is tough. Can he play on the NBA level? He looks like a cheap version of Price with maybe a better shot. He might
solve some of the shooting problem in the short run. All it takes is 2 or 3
outside shots to open up the middle. He buys time for Korver to
heal. He has potential. If he does not work get another audition. IF
DWill can't go he is insurance at PG. The Jazz do not need to panic
into a bad trade. This kid is either a long term replacement for Price or a 10
insurance policy. He is not the solution to the Jazz offensive problems. He may
be as good as Maynor in the long run. Wait 10 days and see what you
have. In the mean time Sloan has to figure out how to win with the
current players and what is left of his system.
Bandaids on a severed limb? Make the trade, And as much as I thought I
would never say it throw in AK if thats what it takes? I can't believe I really
just said that???Bottom line, Deron and Jerry deserve it so quit screwing
around and do something!!
Too bad we can not "Pick up" a GM like you can a player.I would not
wish KOC on a D-League team..KOC has done the worse job in NBA
history. He has sunk the Jazz season. What happen Greg Miller to the
"I will pay the price" for the Championship"?
The Jazz can release this kid at the end of his 10 day contract and then wait
another 2 or 3 weeks before signing another player thus saving them even more
cash!! Wait some breaking news, this player is 3-13 on the three point line the
last 3 games, looks like more of the same Jazz fans. He has also averaged 7 TO's
the last three games as well. Looks like he will fit right in with what we got,
another player that can't stroke it!! Is he athletic, cause you know that's
going to count against him!!
I for one, would like to see the Jazz make a huge trade, gut the team. AK and
Boozer have huge contracts, so nobody wants them. Sweeten the deal. Give them
anybody else they want to get rid of the dead weight. I don't care if you have
to sign 12 more players from the D- League. It is time to move the dead weight
and start over! Start over please! The 8th spot in the playoffs is not worth
fighting for. You probably won't get it anyway. I don't care if we have to
resign Greg Ostertag and go get Travis Hansen and Jaycee Carroll. I think we
should have signed Jaycee Carroll. Players I would prefer getting rid of along
with AK & Boozer who absolutley should go.1. Korver- he is done
anyway. Jazz brought him in to shoot the ball. Which he is not doing.2. Fes- a project not worth doing.3. Okur- we know what he can do,
he just doesn't do it enough4. Miles- Highlights yes, defense no.5. Brewer- Highlights yes, shooting no.6. Price- he will go
for 30 against us.Milsap, Williams, and new guys.
What the!!!! I hope a big trade in the future or im done with the Jazz!
Please, for the love of your fans, make some changes to this team! I'm so tired
of watching 4-5 minutes of defense per game. The Jazz come out and go through
the motions until the very last part of the game. Then they finally play like
they want to win. The Jazz win games against teams that are also just going
through the motions. Then they lose to any team that plays hard. Pathetic!!!!
This move will have zero affect on the Jazz. This Gaines kid will only play for
the last minutes of blow outs. No need to waste any other space on covering
This is the move? Why haven't we traded our soft euros? Why do we have players
on our roster that fail to get better? They should do a complete overhaul and
start from scratch, even if that means trading D-will. This current roster
can't compete for the playoffs. I say trade whatever we can for the 1st pick so
we can get Mr. Wall. Then build around him and get some defensive minded
players in here.
why didnt we pick up mikki moore! a hard-playing veteran back up center that we
NEED! we dont need a 3rd point guard. AK, brewer, and miles can all run the
point if we absolutely needed something there temporarily. we need defense in
the paint. wow, cant believe this. what a lazy move.
Hooray! He's the missing piece to the puzzle! Utah Jazz 2010 NBA
athelete and player. If given a chance he would stick! But that must
only be the beginning for these Jazz changes!
Well this should save the season. I bet he can get all the lazy overpaid bums to
gel and start earning their paychecks. I know he'll at least get them to play
some defense. The season is saved!!! Go ahead and pencil us in as the 2010 NBA
Whew! Now I don't have to make a trade.
What the heck are you thinking KOC? I make a vote: for every day that is wasted
with the same core of this worthless team, KOC has to reimburse the fans tickets
from his own wallet. That will get his butt up off the couch and moving.
D-league is just the D-league. It's like double A ball because any decent talent
is actually overseas. You say his stats are impressive? Look at Morris Almond.
He is ripping it up down there in the D-league, 28.9 pts and 5.5 rebs a game,
but still isn't good enough to be on any NBA team. It's just a move to get to 13
players is all. Jazz have a lot of season left to play. I still support the
team, I just hope they figure it out soon before it is too late.
The Jazz are playing awful and I would rather have a lottery pick than the 8
seed in the playoffs. Trade Boozer, Okur, and Korver for Jermaine O'Neal and a
draft pick. They save 3 million and aren't stuck with Okur's contract
extension, which was stupid. Then they actually have an excuse for losing.
don't fret the small stuff. we will get the number on pick from NJ for AK and
get john wall the best point guard to be drafted in years and have the best one
two point guards in the league.stay glad we have a major team its the only
game in town. thanks miller, we will suppot ya.
KOC and Sloan have got to go out the door, followed by everybody except D-Will,
Matthews, Millsap and the trainer.
I saw Gaines play against the Flash - he was so much quicker than anything the
Flash had. So, in head-to-head with Jefferson, I think Gaines wins.
Sensible comments. I agree. This move was either:1) to buy time to
make a different move2) or to simply have enough playersEither way, it is inconsequential. But this kid is pretty good. He is better
than Maynor and has more experience. I love Price, but I still think we need a
backup PG and let Price come in when we need a defensive or offensive explosion
for a few minutes. Maybe the Jazz got rid of Maynor, knowing that this kid and
others were attainable. Pretty hard to keep Maynor when you can replace him and
still save $13Million. I liked Maynor, but he wasn't great on defense, not a
pure shooter, and needed to get bigger. All things he can master, and probably
will master, but when? We have enough guys with potential.
I would have liked to see Jefferson get the nod, but I like Gaines too, and I
look for him to stick with the Jazz for the rest of the season barring some kind
of trade for a veteran NBA guard. But to the guy who say's Fesenko isn't a
project worth doing and is calling for Jaycee Carroll, man, that's just nuts.
I'm sorry, but when you have an athletic, well-muscled 7-footer wasting away on
the bench, that's a big problem, and the Jazz have won a better percentage of
games with him than without him. Carroll can shoot the ball and has a lot of
heart, but he's a lot better off in Europe, as I have my doubts that he can
defend in the NBA.Peace out from the Jazz Oracle!
This move buys time and saves money. If the Jazz could trade AK for
some combination of Brooks Lopez, Courtney Lee and Rafer Alston plus parts that
would really help the Jazz. Alston is not a great shooter but he can
run a team and has a lot of playoff experience. Lopez would make Boozer
expendable as Okur could rotate at PF with Millsap. Courtney Lee is
a wing who can shoot. The salaries would be hard to match up but if
NJ wanted AK bad enough they could find a way. The 10 day contract
give the Jazz a lot of flex while they get a good look at Gaines. In the mean
time Jefferson is learning the system with the Flash. Gains could
eventually replace Price for a lot less.
Why would the Nets want AK to be the main player of the team when he showed he
couldn't be the main player of our team?
Do It! Do It! Do It!
$743,000 (approximate league minimum) divided by 365 days x 10 day contract =
$20,356.16. not bad for 10 days work.
$457,588 (approximate league minimum '09-'10) divided by 365 days x 10 day
contract = $12,536.66. still not bad for 10 days' work.
Trade AK and Boozer for TMac. Throw the rest of the season and get a lottery
pick. (And hope and pray the Knicks get one to.) Let TMac go at the end of the
season and free up salary space. Use the two lottery picks and draft some
interior defense and outside shooting. And if we can, get a decent free agent.
Common guys! Give the kid a break! He is so excited to be signed. Yes we are
terrible, but we can't really get any worse. Besides, I'd rather loose and get
a lottery pick. END OF LAST SEASON was what this Jazz team is, I cannot believe
KOC did not make trades in the summer. Unbelievable .... really
Tanking the season DOESNT HELP THE JAZZ AT ALL. we gave this year's draft pick
AWAY. Get it through all of your skulls. This makes it even more important that
we have a big trade during the season, because in the off season we have
nothing! our knicks pick is not gonna be a lottery pick, boozer will be gone,
but since the team is still like 8 million over the cap, that means we only free
up 4 million dollars for next year, AND, we have to extend Brewer (arguable that
we extend him i know, but if we do, there goes our 'extra money'). we need to
trade NOW. every day that goes by that we dont trade is hurting the team more
and more.and further more, no more ak trade ideas please. he makes
more money than half of the all-stars in the league, and he doesn't even come
close to their talen level, why would any team pay 16mil for him?! its just
nonsense, and any trade idea involving AK is ridiculous.
Last year Tracy McGrady was going to be traded to the Jazz for Andre Kirlenko.
We should consider this since the Rockets are unhappy with TMac and we haven't
had consistancy for Kirlenko. McGrady is recovering from knee surgery and is
getting 7 minutes per game which is about what we're getting out of Andre even
if he plays 30 minutes. j/k Trading Boozer is not the answer; I'm telling you
he's THE GUY down low and having a decent season so far.
You are wondering to yourself if we are gaining anything with a 6-1 point guard,
who we know nothing about. The first thing we gain is less money spent on the
salary luxury tax so give Kevin credit. The next thing is quickness and scoring
ability, which is 30 points a game 10 more than Jefferson of the flash. We'll
give the guy a chance (10 days), if it doesn't work out we'll write it as a
I agree with "Stop saying Tank the season!"... regarding those who say, "trade
AK" or trade a and b for c... or whatever. Realize that it's incredibly
difficult to trade players with big contracts whose potential did not
materialize enough. For example, it's more likely to be able to trade AK NEXT
season during the last year of his contract. Those of you who were paying
attention this past summer know that KOC *WAS* actively open to making big
trades, but the few teams that were willing and able to do so were (of course)
trying to get a really good deal (additionally, they knew the Jazz were in a
bind salary-wise). By the way, I also agree with every word Chuck Nunn wrote
earlier in this thread (and most everything he ever writes). "Peace out" back to
ya Chuck, and to my other fellow Jazz fans here. Let's not give up on them just
cuz they're having some troubles.
I like Gaines. His shot looks pure, and he just seems to play like a winner.
Plays a lot like Deron. I think there's a good chance he could stay. I wish the Jazz would sign Jefferson too. Never hurts to have even more
competition at the 2 spot. Matthews is a great defender, but not quite good
enough offensively for the long haul, Brewer is a stud but can't shoot, CJ can
shoot but is still working on his consistency and toughness, Korver can be
effective in our offense, but is not an all-around 2. Jefferson
seems to have it all for a combo guard. He can shoot, even had a couple game
winners. He's long, can jump out of building. Don't know how tough he is on D,
but he is a pretty good shot blocker so that should tell us something. I think
for minimum $ he would be a no-brainer to bring in and see how he does.
At least there's a franchise in the state that wants to win a game or
IS overpaid...Maynor was way better per dollar than Williams...with a chance to
get even better...Williams is past his prime...not in age...in play...he walks
the ball up the floor like an old MarK Jackson!
New Jersey just waived Rafer Alston so he could pursue opportunities with a
playoff bound team in-essence.... Here is your replacement for Maynor. Let
this Gaines kid ride out his 10 day contract while Alston clears waivers and
sign Alston for the rest of the season at a prorated vets minimum contract. Two
problems solved right there.
All of you have your shorts in a wad over our 13th player.Anyone
that knows basketball knows this signing is not that big of deal but based on
the comments too many of the clueless fans here believed we would be signing
some allstar player somehow. Can you not see the signs? The Jazz
made a trade to shed payroll. Why then would they turn around and add some big
dollar player? If they do they will use the trade exceptions from the
Maynor/Harpring trade before the deadline. This guy is just
backup. It does look like he can score and this team needs offense
right now in the worst way.In the last 10 games we are 27th in the
league in offensive efficiency!!When Sloan gets the rotations nailed
down they we will get some offensive efficiency going again.Painful
to watch though right now.
That would require Kevin O'Conner to actually do his job. He has no clue if you
listened to his interview on 1320 he is a sloan apologists and wants everyone to
know just how hard his job is and that we need to be patient. Take some
chances. No risk no reward. These guys have quit on sloan and we are going to
quit on sloan and o'conner by quit going to watch this mess.
be feasible since NJ now has a Russian owner and AK has a large following in
Russia just like Ming has a large following in China. The HOU owner
has interests in China so Ming more than pays for his NBA salary by producing
China profits. Trading AK for NJs draft pick is a good idea. It
reduces Utah's money problem and gets Utah a great pick. However, NJ
has about 58 mill in salary (That may have changed with Alston's buy out). It is more feasible to trade AK to NJ next year.
that Fes is not worth the time. I would say nonsense. We have seen
enough of Fes to realize that he is as good as Camby only a lot cheaper. Fes has
not developed at all on offense yet but he changes the defense just by being in
the game. Koufos is also a keeper. We saw enough of him early last
year when both Boozer and Collins were out and Sloan had to play him. We saw a
very young big who played D, ran the floor and is a rebounding machine. Sloan
made a bad mistake by playing Collins instead of Koufos last year. Koufos would
be doing a lot better this year if he had a lot of game experience last year.
It may take a couple of years for his offense to develop. If he has
gone backwards it says volumes about the Utah coaching. Sloan's VET
bias loses games and loses games in the long run when the younger players are
not developed. It also raises salary costs.
