Oh man I would love to play on the same team as Dwight "Superman" as well, who
wouldnt......... Then I could make a good living and not have to worry about
If the Jazz want to win a championship,(and it looks like they don't
really care)they must get of rid the over-rated, i'm only in it for
me, boozer.Boozer is an oh-no (olympian in name only)His
college coach coached the team and even he hardly ever played boozer, that should tell you everything you need know about his game,(that and his lack of denfense and his showing he is all about the almightly
Boozer ain't worth 18 million!
If he ain't careful, he going to wind up with Europe as his only option.
I bet boozer gets a contract starting at around 15 a year and ends at around 19,
his numbers speak for themselves, and besides, he's a good team guy who wouldn't
have a problem fitting in most places.
Jazzsmack and boo hoo are now thiking they are capable of dictating salaries in
the NBA. Jazz S would have us dump our PF who is one of 2 PF's in the entire
league/world that perform at a 20/10 level consistently. If the Jazz are in it
to win then Boozer remains a piece of the puzzle. When the Jazz can
talk about replacing Boozer with another person of equal or greater stats then
boot Boozer out the door, til then grow up and recognize it is not a boys club
but a basketball team/business.Too bad about Maynor, we should have
pitched Price out the door and kept our young stud.
so long as Boozer is even thinking about playing for another location....he'll
never give Utah 100%.....and he hasn't been giving 100% for a long time.
Just coming into the last season of a 68 thats 68 mil contract this turkey wants
to amp up the market for his services. What a joke. Hopefully we can trade him
somewhere where we can get a little return and put him on a losing team for the
rest of his career. This me only and money attitude is what has put this country
in the toilet. I'm sick of these twerps and the selfish mentalities. Just get
out of here Booze!
If we trade or lose Boozer without replacing him with someone as effective then
in effect we are going to keep Deron here playing only for money and not for a
chance at a championship. Take away Boozers numbers this season and
we lose 10 of our last 16 games. If I were Deron and if Boozer leaves then I am
out the door and off to a contender rather than stay and feed Brewer so he can
miss.I think when Boozer leaves that soon after Sloan will be out
the door followed by Williams and then the entire makeup of the Jazz will
change, but it all precipitates by Boozer leaving.
Doug has it wrong. A consistent 20/10 doesn't mean anything. Boozer has proved
it, and Elton Brand has proved it.Boozer is stupid for opening his
mouth again and talking about making max money and playing with Superman or
Wade. I got news for ya Booz; you aint gettin no max contract! I say the Jazz
should either trade him now or punish him the rest of the season for opting in.
If they benched him the rest of the year, he wouldn't get more than the
mid-level in free agency.
If Booz couldn't even get 12 million last year, what makes you think he is going
to get more than that with the salary cap going down again? Lebron yes, Bosh
yes? Booz oh no. The Jazz probably think they have a shot at signing him next
year if they want? I'd be surprised if Booz got traded.
I hope your right. First Booze then Sloan, what a day that will be, hopefully
Brewer and Miles are on the same flight!
Wait until after the season to chatter, this only shows he doesn't care much
about anything but Boozer!
If Boozer leaves the Jazz are back to 42-42!!!!!! Period. You so called Jazz
fans that think the Jazz are better off without Boozer have not watched the last
20 games and no nothing about basketball.
so the Jazz will be mediocre for another four years. Watching the Lakers own the
Jazz for another four years will be too sweet.
Everyone is forgetting that Boozer is hurt a lot of the time. Other team's are
going to look at that number before paying out 15 million for this guy. When he
is healthy, he is a great player. When he is hurt, he is out a long long
time.Boozer may be begging the Jazz to take him for 10 million
I have stopped watching the Jazz. The 20+ years of same ol' same ol' same ol'
groundhog day seasons have become too much for me to stand. Booze is no
different than any pro athlete. Ungrateful for the opportunity to make the
money he does. I am done with pro sports, I would rather watch Ybu.Not to mention the NBA is becoming a groundhog day league. Lakers, Lakers,
Lakers Lakers. Gee, I wonder who will win the NBA title? Oh yeah, the Lakers
will. Fast forward to 2020 after same results for 2010-2019. Gee, I wonder who
will win the NBA title? Oh yeah, the Lakers will. The only thing missing is
the NBA adopting Sonny and Cher's song "I got you babe".
Of course Boozer would be willing to re-sign with the Jazz! As long as they are
willing to pay him the most money, he'll be here collecting a pay check. I'm
sure his agent has him convinced that the reasons he didn't have any teams
wanting him last summer are the poor economy & the fact that teams were saving
up for 2010. The real reason why is because Boozer isn't worth a max contract
and all the teams' GMs know it. He (and many other players banking on free
agency this summer) is going to have an eye-opening experience when he sees the
low-ball (in his mind) offers coming in.
Not a snowballs chance in you know where Boozer will be back next year. As far
as being traded, if the Jazz get a good opportunity they'll take it, if they
don't they won't. Why else dump 13mill? Boozer is good and the jazz won't trade
him for nothing. What still makes me sick as a jazz fan is AK's contract. If
anyone wants to complain about someones overpriced contract lets start with AK.
What happened to him anyway? He used to do well, now he is just subpar. Makes me
sick to think about.
With Boozer the Jazz are still going to have a first or second round playoff
exit. Trade him while his value is high and get some pieces that will make a
difference. This team CAN NOT WIN without a defensive presence in the starting
line up. Sloan has already proven he has lost his marbles by pulling the one guy
on the team who placed more emphasis on defense than scoring (Matthews). The
Jazz were feeding everyone a load of garbage with the early season emphasis on
this defensive scoring system that they established in order to increase
defensive productivity. The guy leading the team in defensive stats gets
rewarded by riding the pine. Way to go Jazz!
That would be know, nothing about basketball? He isn't loyal. He
isn't staying anyway.The Jazz can't afford anymore big contracts.If
they are smart they will get something for him before they waste all that money
they gave his injured fannie. If you want to know how good he really is
just watch the game at Miami tonight! We will see the best Boozer ever
tonight, mark my words. Thanks Die Hard
No way you let Boozer walk for nothing. If Jazz management know they will not
resign him they will move him before the deadline. All the casual Jazz fans
that don't understand the complex NBA rules need to give the Jazz management a
break. They are doing a good job with what they have to work with!
Sparks24: NBA season is 82 games know-it-all. Your math doesn't quite work.
sparks24 I did not know it was an 84 game seasom. I am surprised that all
of the humorless commentors have not jumped all over you with all of the
name-calling that we see here, so often.
if you remember last year, then you'll know that the jazz won 12 consecutive
games without the help of Carlos Boozer. He played no factor in their race for
the playoffs last year.
Boozer is good, even a lower level all star but he's not worth 15 to 18 million.
He couldn't get more than the 12.7 or what ever he is getting now last summer.
The Jazz will suffer if Booz leaves but that's life in the NBA. They'll
just have to develope someone else. Fes could develope, Milsap will get better.
Kosta could develope. Sometime young player don't get the chance to develope
until injuries or something like this happen. Sloan won't play the young players
as long as he has Booz, Okur, & Milsap. With the economy as bad as it is,
Booz isn't going to get max money.Anyone heard anything more on the Bucks
OH booze he just polished up his resume thats all he wants max money and a team
with a lot of studs so he dont have play his but off look at the dream team same
gold metal but did he contribute really it was his own coach K he should had
and advanage his offense is good nobody ever complains about that but he onlys
plays on one end if he gets 25 pts and give up 26 weve lost and is he a closer ?
I say you want more money and dont we all weres my trophy if I was the miller
family thats what i tell him you look when he on the bench is he got is head in
the game ?
Booze is no more than a 10 mil guy. He could be worth more but he's injured 1/3
of the time.
Boozer doesn't play hard, gets the benefit of only having half his minutes with
Okur and doesn't have a clue when it comes to driving the basket. How you can't
replace him is beyond me. I'd rather have a guy like Chris Bosh, Al Jefferson
or even Troy Murphy before I allowed the matador into my line up. Boozer can't
play consistently at a high level and cannot stay on the court most seasons.
Get rid of the bum.
There are so many "experts" here who know so much about what Boozer thinks and
wants, they even seem to know more than he does! This is the only
place where "Boozer-Bashing" dominates. I hear announcers complementing his play
at virtually every game. He brings home "double-double"'s almost every time he
plays. On and on....The nay-sayers here seem to believe if we dump
most of the players we now have and get some others, magic will happen, and we
will be champions. Their lack of vision and knowledge of the game is striking!
Just because you bring in new players does not mean they will automatically fit
in and "save the team", as you seem to believe. When players leave
the Jazz and go on to other teams, they usually do very well. I don't see them
plying harder or anything like that; they were good players when they played for
the Jazz as well. The trades happen for many reasons, and it should not be
assumed that a trade only happens when a player is no good. The
comments here are a waste of time to read.
Better idea, fire the coaching staff then maybe we can win with 9 or so of these
players. No one ever sees the obvious.I guess your
comments are "a waste of time to read"
This is how you know boozer is going to get 15 mill a year, first off, teams are
going to look past his injury history, they'll probably see it as most people
do, he was preserving himself for his next big pay day, (at the expense of the
jazz, especially last year), by sitting out with little injuries. Chances are,
booz will give play though injuries in his next contract, i for one, believe he
is sincere when he says he wants to win, i see he has made sacrifices for the
jazz, and this is what sets the market on boozer.jamison is making 15
million a year, and many teams want him and his contract. I think boozer and
jamison are about equal on their effictiveness, jamison has a wider variety of
shots and is a quicker defender, while boozer can play with his back to the
basket and can defend centers.Personally, I'd rather have boozer for 15
mil, because its more valuable having a guy who can play with his back to the
basket. maybe teams are worried about his injury history, however, just
watch him get paid this summer.
Both jamison and boozer are quality fowards, jamison tweens the sf, pf, boozer
the pf, c; but both are quality teammates and good locker room guys, both are
leaders.Right now the value on boozer is low, part of it is his injury
history, but if he puts together a full season, you can bet that those concerns
won't be an issue. The other reasons boozer value is low aren't good reasons,
(city loyalty? who cares), when hes playing he's playing hard, period, i
consider that loyal. How about his questionable defense, compared to okur,
boozer looks like a great defender, i'm starting to think boozer is first team
defense after watching okur, while his defense isn't great, it doesn't kill a
team like okur does. eventually, other teams will see things this way and
his value will rise, by the end of the year, his value will be back to full, and
he'll get a starting contract at 15 a year, at least, at least.just
So, I see that jamison is setting the market for fowards in the class with him
and boozer. Arguably, the jazz have had as many injuries as the wizards,(maybe
not), but theyve had to rework players into the lineup causing chemistry issues,
yet the jazz have a much better record than the wizards. You can't really
underestimate the value of being able to have a low post scorer, if boozer was
on a team with another go to guy, he wouldn't be getting double teamed and he'd
be awesome.wake up jazz fans, one of the reasons boozer struggles, is
because teams pack it in against him, they don't even have to defend the
perimeter against the jazz, just make sure boozer doesn't score, that could be
different if he were on another team.he's going to get paid, i
predict his value will start to rise.
I wouldn't mind having Boozer remain on the team, but if is traded can we have
Udonis Haslem and Michael Beasley?
Booz has made it clear that Miami is a destination he would like. To turn the
tables, why would Miami want him. I can't remember when Booz had a really good
game against them. So doesn't this mean the players of Miami are now as good or
better than booz with out the baggage, ego, and over inflated salery? I can't
see why they would want him.
Per Hoops Hype as I reported yesterday, The Heat are not interested in Boozer
