maybe now is the time to check the free agent wire and see if a wing can help us
or bring in a designated 3 point shooter off the benchis Krueger
still with this organization?
There are no available shooters that are worth picking up in his absence. I am
hoping they wait for CJ to recover and keep Mathews as their SG.
Hes so handsome! Dr. please be careful with him!
How did previous doctors/MRI's miss a spur??? No wonder Korver is frustrated,
being given what sounds like an incorrect diagnosis, told to rest, yet still
having pain and not being able to play... what a waste of time. With a proper
diagnosis, he could have had surgery weeks ago and be on the mend already.
Waste of time...
Why wouldn't you have had the surgery 5 Months ago? He probably didn't want to
mess up his dating season.
Are you kidding me???? This is crazy! We are not starting out good..Please get
to the team, Wes Matthews.
The Jazz will sign West Matthews and Morris Almond. Mark it down.
Too much riding in a golf cart can really agitate a bone spur.
Are you serious? Why wouldn't he have surgery 5 months ago? Perhaps because
his knee only started bothering him a couple of weeks ago??? Korver had surgery
on his wrist in the off-season, so I'm sure he was REALLY worried about dating.
What a stupid thing to say. Do you often opt to have surgery on various body
parts... just in case they might cause you pain some time??
he didn't want to mess up his golfing commitments.
shaping up to sound like another injury plagued season! when will we start a
season with a TEAM!!!
I went eight years with shoulder problems. I lost count how many doctors I went
to about it. I did physical therapy every year when it would flare-up and it
didn't get better. I had cortisone injections too. Tests showed a "normal"
shoulder, no explanation. I finally convinced a new doctor to at least scope
it...He found three bone spurs, a torn rotator cuff, torn cartilage,
and a piece of broken bone floating around in my joint. You'd think
at least ONE of those things would show up in x-rays or CT. (Can't have MRI)
poor kyle,be careful,mamma loves ya
I can think of a couple of guys who might be worth taking a chance on but I
think the Jazz should pick up...Ime Udoka: Good defender, quality
veteran experience, can shoot the 3 (37% lifetime), can play both wings.
I agree with the above comments of why r we just now deciding to have surgery.
We have been hearing about this injury for the past month. The Jazz did the same
thing last year with Boozer. They dinked around for 2 months before finally
deciding to have surgery for Booze. Sounds like we need to revamp our medical
What was he doing all offseason? He had five months to get this taken care of.
Now he's gonna pull a Booz and get paid to sit on the IR list.
So I'm betting he's out for 6-8 weeks.
I guarantee Almond will not be resigned. Take that to the bank! He has been
looked at by 4 teams now and none of them wanted any part of him, why would the
Jazz when they know more than them? That surgery isn't a major one so Korver
should be back in a month or so. We still have the bodies to play the game and
no help is needed. We certainly don't need more salary expense right now. Maybe
if we could dump Boozer for a wing and a big that might work.
That spur was not an issue then, have you ever thought of that? I agree with
wrong diagnosis that this thing should have been caught by the first MRI. The
blame on this one goes to the doctor. It was bothering him more than a month
ago, now the team and player pay for it and where is the good old Doc? I hope
the team refers others to a different Dr. in the future. We will be fine anyway,
others will pick up the slack in the short time him and CJ are gone.
How 'bout consulting with my Park City doc, and then you will be out the entire
Does anyone play through a little pain? Boozer has rubbed off on the entire
Jazz team. Take a paycheck for doing nothing. Be a man and play.
Wow this is starting to feel like a sequel to last year. Let's all hope D-Will
goes crazy and averages 35ppg, 13 ast, and 6 boards a game for the first 3
months or this is gonna be another long long season.
The only people who will miss Korver are the opposing rebounders and all the
girls in the stands. As far as I'm concerned, the Jazz can do without him.
This is a joke. There was no "injury," this was a pre-existing condition that
was aggrevated when he started really working. If he had been working out in the
summer, he would have felt this. Typical spoiled NBA player with the guaranteed
contract, waiting until it's time to go to work to get that surgery done--enjoy
the paid vacation loser.I would opt to bring in someone hungry to
make a team, like former Spur Udoka, a perfect fit--tough defender who can also
shoot the three.
Get rid of him. Can't hit a shot. Can't keep anybody in front of him. China
How do you know how much Korver worked out in the summer... or any players, for
that matter? By all accounts, Korver is NOT the 'typical' spoiled NBA player...
and those would be accounts from people who actually KNOW him, unlike idiots
that spout off on message boards. This is a contract year for Korver, so your
already lame argument doesn't make sense. In a contract year, you think he
wants to start the season injured, and missing games? Oh, and for the brilliant
mind who suggested players just play through pain... I'm assuming you know the
difference between injuries that one can 'play through' and other injuries which
would cause permanent damage to bone and cartilage if one keeps playing through
the pain? Yeah... I thought not.
Now when is Boozer having his surgery?
not much of a loss,CJ will be back soon,he`s the only 2/3 worth keeping
anyway, get rid of Korver and Brewer
we`re gonna miss Korver a whole bunch, you`all just wait and see,Jerry was
planning on starting him at SG,moving Brewer to SF,that along with Boozer,Memo
and D-Will would have been a very nice starting line-up,with both AK and Millsap
coming off the bench
What a disappointment to lose Korver to knee surgery! Can't believe some doc
didn't catch the spur problem with all the mri's he had taken! The Jazz won't
be the same without Korver....Hopefully he recovers quickly!Yes....more than the ladies will miss Korver!
I will play with an amputated in-grown foot fungus dipped in a third of acid
mixed with rabies... and still shoot a better 3 pt percenage than ms.
I must say I don't have a whole lot of confidence in the Jazz' medical staff
right now. I saw this surgery coming from at least a couple of weeks ago.Too bad he had to go to New York to see a real Dr. that could diagnose
His defense and effort are better. His win score went up last year. Who will open up the inside? Mathews is a rookie and sporadic. Brewer does not
have range. CJ is out. Price and Maynor at not great long shooters and Maynor is
a rookie. Maynor can play point and DWill can play 2 some of the
time. Millsap will play 3 part of the time, but he does not have a lot of range.
It may be possible to trade Harp for a good wing but that has
consequences for Korver and Brewer. Both are trying to get a new contract. The idea that Korver could have avoided injury and is now loafing while
getting paid is a pathetic line of reasoning. He needs to play and play well
just like Boozer and Brewer so he can get paid next year. There may
be more wrong with Korver's knee than just the bone spur. The spur may be a pr
excuse to do the surgery. He has had the spur for some time and it did not seem
to bother him. Now it does. Something has changed in his knee.
It's only Korver, get a grip! Everyone is acting like it's Deron or something.
If anyone is at fault it's the team doctor's. Korver started training camp just
like everyone else. Then went down with the injury. Have any of you brilliant
board doctor's tried to do anything with a swollen, inflamed knee? Jazz need to
get better doctor's, period!
that`s right moron, the Korver who played all crunch time minutes last year when
we needed to win...your"boy" miles was nothing more than a token starter who`s
minutes went down as the season progressed, how long have you followed the Jazz
anyway ??? a week or 2???
A wrist last year, a knee this year. KK has turned out to be a Boozer. The cat
had all summer to get treated but I guess golf got in the way. I am very upset
with Kyle as well as the Jazz team doctors.
Korver's got his millions, the hunger is gone...this is the problem the with
you just don`t get it ,do you..big difference between Korver, who played last
season with an injured wrist, and Boozer, who sat,can you see the difference?
re:Re ;jbra80 10:48amOnly followed them since the mid 80's but who's
counting. And by the way CJ would be probably be my least favorite Jazz player,
i think you're confusing me with Miles (no offense). Korver closing out games
didn't really do much for us now did it. Sure he can shoot free throws but we
could bring back Horny if we needed someone to do nothing but shoot ft's, plus
he could probably shoot the 3 at a better percentage too (plus he was a good
ballhandler/passer). Good post though, took a lot of thought.
