Congratulations to the Utah Red Rocks!! Again, another overall
improvement in meet #4 of the season, and it's great to read of the step up last
night. Again, this team is outstanding in the way they come together and work
hard to perfect their execution and quality in their routines. Another fine
example of how they make us so proud to be Utes!!I hate to mention
names because sooo many contribute in a huge way . . . but I believe this is
Jamie Deetscreek's 2nd all-around this season. Props to Kyndal, Daria, Annie,
and all. Way to go!! I love this team!! (How the ankle Beth?)Thanks for the great coverage of the Utes in the Deseret News!! I really wish
I could have been in Corvallis.
Way to go Ute gymnasts! You are the best.
It's too bad the news didn't explain the reason the score dropped in the paper!
Bad editing on your part!!!This years team has alot of talent and they are
just beginning to fight for each others spots. The more they compete within the
team, the better they get. It is going to be a fun year to watch. And it will be
even more fun to see who gets to be the gymnasts that set up the scores or the
one who gets to benifit from the rest of the team.
Correction/Clarification . . . Doing a little math, looks like
Oregon State's Mandi Rodriguez won the meet all around (39.5), and our Jamie
(39.35) was Utah's all around winner, the second time in the four meets (Kris
Baskett with the Utah all round in the other two meets of the season thus far).
Jamie and Kris each have one the meet all around at the two home competitions
(UCLA & Washington). Nina is right there every time too. Congratulations to
you, to the whole team and coaches!!!! This team is extraordinary!!!!
I agree with the previous writer, if the news is going to publish a report
saying there was an after the meet deduction, they should have described the
reason for the deductions. Should not leave us hanging!
