Key words: quiet confidence.Yes, no quest for this, BCS that,
blah, blah, blah
He was not the only one. I was at the RSL game and everybody seemed to think
that we had clinched a playoff birth. At the end of the game they even
announced that playoff tickets were on sale.
Though no slogan was created, Whitt's quest is to win a MWC title, something
Kyle is yet to accomplish as a head coach.Every good coach
establishes goals for his team at the beginning of each season. The
only difference between Kyle's goals and Bronco's goals was the degree of
difficulty in accomplishing their goals.Until you've won a
conference championship, it makes little sense to be setting a goal of getting a
BCS bid or playing for a NC.If Utah had accomplished what BYU had
accomplished the last two seasons, it wouldn't have been a bit surprising to see
Kyle setting the same types of goals for Utah as BYU had this season. All of the "Quest" knocking by Utah fans, is kindled more by jealousy, than by
anything Bronco did by choosing this year's slogan and goals.
There has been plenty of "Quest" knocking by BYU fans as well. In fact, there
has been plenty of Bronco bashing by BYU fans, too. MWC championships you
people talk about is just another way of saying 'just wait till last year.' Keep talking up your past championships, brother, but in the interim
please explain to me what Utah fans have to jealous of. All the BYU talk about
BCS this year is driven by the fact that BYU has never accomplished what Utah
has. When BYU brings money into the conference, THEN you can talk. Until then,
stay in the back seat and keep quiet! If Bronco had been invited to
visit ESPN we would be hearing incessant BYU blather. He was not invited. DEAL
WITH IT!In four simple words...Hall to Sanders...(OOPS!)
RESULTNo more "Quest"Probably no MWC championshipNational humiliationYet, BYU will no doubt be standing in line
with their hand out to collect their $1 Million courtesy of the University of
Utah, Coach Wittingham, and the BCS just like they did four year ago.
Until Utah has accomplished it, I would be careful. Utah still has to play TCU
as well, and you better believe BYU is going to be ready for the Utah game.By the way, Utah does not have a national championship.
THE ONLY PLACE THAT NATIONAL REPUTATION FOR THE U IS FOUND IS IN THE MINDS OF
UTE FANS LIKE RE WITTS QUEST.
Hey Shawnbo, neither does BYU. There is no such thing as an NCAA Football Div.
