Show some class Jazz fans. Booing Fredette is lame. Booing Williams is lame.
Booing Fisher is lame. Hence, the vocal minority in the ESA is lame.
I sat four rows behind the Kings bench last night and all I can say is I hope
the Kings get a new coach before Keith Smart ruins Jimmer. It is fairly obvious
that he doesn't really like Jimmer. All game long he was in Jimmer's ear telling
him how bad he was doing, just riding his butt. After any type of mistake
Jimmer would make, they would have words with each other. I normally wouldn't
care, the coach does need to teach, but he didn't do it to any other player.
With all the ball hogs on that team and as little team play that goes on with
the Kings, I am sure he could have found some "coaching opportunities"
for some of the other players. It's hard to explain, but if you could see the
interaction, you would see it wasn't just coaching, but a dislike. You can read
between the lines of his comments and see the same thing.
The guy just finished his first month of his pro basketball career. The title
of this article is simply ridiculous.Jimmer is way beyond what most
rookies accomplish. He looked great last night and Kevin O'Connor made a
mistake in not picking him. Then again, if Ute fans are going to
treat him like that, why would Jimmer ever want to play here?
I see enough in Kanter to be good with O'Connor not taking him with the 3rd
pick. Taking a solid big man there was more important. He simply wasn't there
with the next pick. So, no mistake by O'Connor. I wish the Jazz had Jimmer,
but not with the 3rd pick.
@USA lover "Then again, if Ute fans are going to treat him like that, why
would Jimmer ever want to play here?"Why would we want him to
play here? He would give us absolutley nothing. The only thing he can supposedly
do is shoot, and he can't even do that. Look at his shooting %, and not just in
the NBA. Look at the box score's of his college games yes he would hit fire
every 10 games. However most games he was something like 7 of 29. As a season
ticket holder I would no longer be, if the Jazz took somebody like this in the
top 10. The kings absolutley wasted a top 10 pick. Shows exactly why they are
where they are right now. No other team would even think about taking him top
10. He's not even a second round player IMO.
2BCSWINS: His shooting percentage over his last three college seasons averages
over 46% and 40% from three. So, what is your point. Yeah, he had some bad
games, but so do all players. He did what he did with schools throwing their
whole team at him to defend him. It was absolutely amazing, so quit being
jealous. Yeah, his % is low in the NBA if you look at it as a whole. He is a
rookie, what did you expect. But look at the last few games, now that he has a
few games under his belt. Oh yeah, a different story there. Not a
second round pick in your opinion??? Well, that doesn't make you look credible
or smart. As for giving the Jazz absolutely nothing??? Come on.
That is just more jealous talk. Just the 3 point shooting alone would be nice
to have. He would stretch the defense and open things up for our big men. Come
on, think before you type.
@AlekhinAdam Morrison averaged over 50% FG when he was in college,
DID HE DO GOOD??? i don't think so.
Utah Jazz fan Chris. Why don't you read the other comments so you can
put mine into context. I never stated a high FG% would translate to being good
in the NBA (and 46% isn't really high anyway). I was just showing that it
wasn't as bad as 2BCSWINS was making it out to be. So basically, your post is
Give him some time and a decent team situation and he'll be ok. You can't judge
a player on his potential based on his rookie year. That said, his defense
still continues to be a liability. People seem to score at will on him.And finally, why is this article missing words throughout the text. Is
anybody checking anything that is published in the Desnews these days?
Fredette has hit 15 of his last 25 from 3. His average keeps going up and is
currently at 38%. The haters will be haters. For the fans who think Jimmer would
not have given the Jazz anything. Really? What is the 3pt% for the Jazz guards?
By the way, he was fouled on that last shot.
@2bscwinsJimmer is definitely worthy of being selected in the first round
of the draft. I had heard that the Jazz would have taken him with the 12th pick
if he was still available. I'm sure he will be a good player in the NBA. Hard to
say at this time if he will be great, but good for sure.I will just
be curious to see how he will compare to Burks over the next few years. Both
players are not shy about taking shots. Jimmer is a better outside shooter while
Burks is a more athletic scorer. Since Burks is the player the Jazz picked, I
hope he does become a great player for us, but I wish Jimmer well too.
jimmer- the next jj reddick
No all star games for Jimmer, too many good guards in the west to compete with.
If he does, good for him
Its a good thing if Coach Smart is in his ear all the time. That means he sees
something in Jimmer that he wants to improve on and he believes that Jimmer
could be a good NBA player. Most rookies are sitting on the bench, Jimmer at
least is getting playing time. It is up to Jimmer to improve his game over the
next few years if he wants to stay in the league! Right now he is off to a good
Booing Jimmer just because he went to BYU? Really? It i the NBA now. this is a
local kid, and a good kid, who gave the whole state of Utah more attention than
it has had for years comes back home to get booed. Now that is what is called
classless. What kind of people do that?
Jimmer you got MILLSLAPED!!!! to all you byu fans, its good to cheer for your
boy, and hope for his success, I'm a Utah fan and I do the same thing for Bogut,
but when he plays the Jazz I dont. you shouldnt cheer for him to beat the jazz
either. STOP IT! and stop being so annoying good gosh. guess what? Andrew Bogut
took his team just as far as jimmer did in the NCAA Tourney, won the same award
as jimmer, and was a higher draft pick than jimmer, and is doing quite well in
the NBA, (he also plays defense!) and he is about 50xs less annoying to hear
about. oh and he is a good guy too. there are lots of good guys out there in the
nba, but we dont have to cheer for them all over the jazz. its over. he
graduated. its over. if you are a kings fan now over then jazz then you are a
flaky fan, and you don't even deserve to call yourself a Jazz fan. I don't want
to hear you back on the bandwagon when the Jazz are the best in the west.
Bacapo:I never said you have to cheer for Fredette, but booing him, and
him only, every time he gets the ball? Do you boo Bogut when he comes and
plays against the Jazz, because he plays on the opposing team? I follow
with interest and support for former Utah players, USU players, and UVU players,
even though I support BYU. It would never occur to me to boo them every time
they touch the ball, merely because they went to a rival school in college. Such
hate, in my mind, is just irrational. But that's just me.. . . .
