This is what worries me most about a Romney candidacy. We expect people here on these pages to look at the world through their own particular lenses and come up to sometimes very radically different conclusions around world events. But with an LDS candidate, most people aren't just looking at Romney as a person, but also as a poster child for what Mormonism is about, what we really stand for, and whether we do what we say.

I completely understand Mit does not have control over everything that is said in his name. But at the same time, he will be, and the church by extension, will be judged based on how this election goes. Many will not really care if he gets elected or not, but a lasting impression of what a high profile Mormon stands for - are we really all that different and live by what we proclaim.

Here is the problem. The message is being sent that Mormons will lie about things they feel are really important. And if Mormons are willing to bend the truth to get in office, what else will they bend the truth for.

The sum off all my fears...
