"Defensively, he's doing a better job of meeting the point guard early and
antagonizing him before he gets into a sweet spot to make passes to his
teammates."well that must be in practice coach because nobody
watching this season, has seen him do that in a NBA game....
I've been very down on Harris. I've consistently stated that he is a very
gifted & skilled player, but that he lacks court vision and doesn't seem to
be a real pg. These last two games he's looked a lot better, giving me a little
hope. If Harris could improve into a legitimate 1, it would help the Jazz in a
big way. I'm still betting against that happening, but Harris has some
potential to become legit. My thought on Bell & CJ remain the
same. CJ will never be a good defender, which ensures he'll never be a great
player. And right now he's shockingly bad on D. If he could become more
consistent on O, he might be worth keeping for an offensive spark every 2-3
games. If not, we need to unload him. We don't pay him much, but it's currently
too much. Bell is worthless. He's no longer good at anything. Burks should
start @ 2 now & Bell shouldn't see another minute on the wood this year.I also still think Al would be better used as a 6th man off the bench.
His black-hole nature might be a good thing for the second team O.
Yeah Harris hasn't been pushing the ball very well which really hurts the
offense and he has struggled to find the open man and set them up. As it is
he'd only be useful to us as a pick and roll pg but seeing how all of SLC seems
to think that is too antiquated, we're in trouble.
Big Al is going to bet snubbed for the All-Star game and Millsap and Harris are
not going to be even close to consideration. You've got to be having like an MVP
year if you play for the Jazz to even be an All-Star reserve because the size of
the market. The starters will be all the same people again, the fan favorites
from the big markets.
Shooting has been a problem for the Jazz so far and Corbin feels extra rest and
practice should help the team.Get a backbone Corbin and tell it like
it is...a new shooting coach would help the team....the team is set but a
coaching change can shake things upRaja needs to be a coach...he
said he does whatever the coach has asked him to do..what about scoring.ESPN Mark Stein said Bell has as great scoring average but it is not
over 1 game but 5 games..has 11 points over 5 games????? give me a breakbench Bell and give him a coaching job, give his jersey to somebody who
has legs, confidence and can do more than swat at Kobe twice and call it worth
$3 mil a year...only Cousins in Sacramento is a bigger head case
Right on Bloodshy! I think Harris has always been more two guard than point
guard. I would go as far and say that he (as well as AJ) should play in the
second unit. Tinsley looks washed up, I'd rather get Stockton's kid out of
Europe and give him a shot. His point guard skills looked sharp, and we all know
the gene pool on that one. I can't get enough of Kanter! I haven't seen a guy
that big come all the way out and guard the little guys, (and keep in front of
them) for a long time. I have a feeling that he and Favors are going to be a
force before long. Maybe we could trade C J and Bell for a shooter. Hey has
anyone seen what Gaines has been doing for the Nets. The Jazz should have hung
on to him!
I think he looks very comfortable.....but that is the problem!!He
looks really comfortable walking the ball up the floor and doing nothing to
initiate the offense. He looks very comfortable never breaking down
the defense or getting a good shot for his team mates. He looks very
comfortable as the starting PG averaging the same assists as a second year play
Gordon Hayward. He looks really comfortable getting scorched by every
guard he faces. He looks really comfortable not playing a lick of
defense too.For supposedly one of the fastest PG's end to end in the
NBA he looks very comfortable plodding around like a plow horse.Personally I think he should get comfortable somewhere else. Earl Watson
comes on the floor every night and it is instant uptempo, energy, fast breaks,
and easier baskets.Every time our team got in a funk with Williams
it was because he was noit pushing the ball and probing the defense or running
the break to get his team mates easier baskets. I see the same trend with
Harris....he better start running and get this team so easier baskets or this
season will be akin to Taliban torture.
I didn't realize this article was about CJ?
Harris might feel comfortable but Burks is the one attacking the rim,
distributing the ball, getting teammates open looks and playing some defense.
From what I have seen I think Burks could handle the point better than Harris.
You know he will at least push the ball up the floor.
Harris had some very nice pick'n'rolls in the Bucks game.He had an
absolutely amazing crunch time pass with Milsap the other game too. He'll be fine. I like his attitude much more than a Deron, Westbrook, or
Cousins. He didn't even shoot much in the Bucks game which shows his
dedication to wanting to be a pass-firs.
