Okay, Lets see if Favors can play smart and stay out of foul trouble? Let's hope
he can sieze this opportunity! Go Favors ! Go Jazz!
YES there is a powerful lineup minus bell!
Even though the Jazz seemed very deep at the center position during the
pre-season, I was very surprised they did not try to re-sign Fesenko as a
backup, especially after they traded Okur, and Fesenko was still on the market.
They invested four years in his development, and just when he started to show
some signs of being able to contribute, they let him go to another team. He
ended up signing a one-year, $1 mil. contract with Golden State, which is a
pittance by NBA standards, especially for someone with great size and potential
at the center position--especially on defense. With one injury, such as the one
to Jefferson's ankle, all of the sudden the Jazz aren't looking very deep at the
big positions. I think it was very shortsighted for the Jazz not to re-sign
Fesenko when they could have re-signed him for such a low price. Size is hard
to come by in the NBA, and the Jazz just squandered their chance to have one
more player with great size--who knows their system--as insurance on their bench
in case of an injury.
