reports of abuses among even high school athletes, including in Utah. The blame can be squarely put on the adults and their obsession with winning
sports programs as early as grade school. It is probably the dominant cause of
our education woes. I loved sports as much as anyone else but we need to see
things as they are.
In this Deseret News editorial, they address "The integrity of
sports," then boast about President George W. Bush devoted part of his
annual State of the Union address to performance-enhancing drugs and goes onto
say that performance-enhancing drugs insult these notions and render sporting
competitions meaningless. That's just the tip of the iceburg. Here's what
really renders sporting competitions meaningless. Start to discuss ways that we
can insulate our sports from an obvious threat from organised crime.
Corruption in Sports Betting. The following time-line shows some of the major
instances of how sports have been affected by corruption. 2007 NBA official Tim
Donaghy investigated for corruption. 2002-2008 - Several cases of corruption in
tennis. Most commonly by players betting on matches they are involved in. Or
passing the information on to others to bet. Officials need to be paid salaries
such as the professional sportsmen, on the sports they are officiating.
Officiating should be seen as an attractive career path financially, they
certainly earn their pay checks!. Take the "M" out

It should not be against any law to put a substance in your body. Once our
society is past that problem a lot will be resolved.
Sadly, the record setting period 1998 to 2005 will forever be known as the
steroid era and all such records will be thrown out as well as those who set
them (McGwire,Bonds, Sosa, Clements, etc...). Everyone of these guys
"suddenly" bulked up and started hitting balls out of the park and
throwing smoke even into their elder years. Fans were taken for a ride and the
amount of money that was made and lost was staggering. All liars and all
cheaters. What a disgrace. Hopefully baseball will never be tainted again.
I agree with midvaliean, in fact lets give them more performance enhancing
drugs. They are well paid, and they could care less about there health, as
is evident by their choice to begin with. Faster, Higher, Stronger, we
have the technology let em use it! The fans pay for Super Athletes let em have
em!...and how is marijauna a performance enhancing drug when
athletes use it, but is considered an impairment worthy of DUI when
