Honestly, If/When Coach Whitt decides to leave Utah, I'd like to see Sitake take
over as head coach. I think he'd be a pretty good fit. I don't want
to see either of them go just yet, but if I had to pick, I'd rather have Coach
Chow take the Hawaii job. But I really want to see what he can do with
recruiting here at Utah. Here's to hoping we get to keep both of
them, but if not... Good luck Coaches!
Best wishes to both. If neither gets the spot, hopefully Bronco will take it.
He can bring Doman with him.
I would be elated if both stayed, that being said I also wouldn't be to worried
if one or both left. Utah has always had great d-coordinators and coach whitt
will no doubt find a fine replacement for Sitake if he leaves. Nothing but full
confidence here... though I would love to see both of them stay. About kyle, I
seriously doubt he's going anywhere. He's already rejected at least one SEC
head coaching job (TN).
Why would Whit would leave the state of Utah (I am not talking about UoU? Norm
should take this job if he can stand taking to media interviews for being a head
coach? We will see who gets this Hawaii job.
@unreasonableUTE" About kyle, I seriously doubt he's going anywhere.
He's already rejected at least one SEC head coaching job (TN)."That's not a big deal. 6 other Head Coaches were offered that job before Kyle
and all turned it down. Even the HC at Duke got offered and turned it down
(we're talking DUKE football?!) before Kyle. Frankly, it would have been
embarrassing if Kyle had said yes, it would make him look desperate.Worst case scenario with both Chow and Sitake applying for that job is if they
hire Chow (good for him to finally get a HC job after all these years) and he
hires Sitake away to be his Defensive Coordinator with the plan to groom him to
take over in a few years when Chow retires (he's 70 something years old). That would be a bummer. 3rd Offensive Coordinator in 3 yrs added to the
current mess at QB spells another disastrous year in the Pac12.
Hegdehog -A lot of jealousy in that comment you made...and even more
inaccuracies.But you go girl!
I'd love to see coach Chow get a HC job after all these years. I wish him well.
As for coach Sitake...maybe he'll be interested in coaching some day at his alma
I see both staying....for now.
I don't think there are many Ute fans who thought when Chow signed with the Utes
that he would be here forever. I am hoping for a couple of more years, but I
just never felt like it was going to be permanent. We all know Whittingham is
the voice of the defense, I think it would be less of a big deal if Sitake were
to go. I just like knowing that if and when Kyle decides to leave, our coach in
waiting is doing very well in Logan and is getting great experience before he
becomes the head coach of a BCS caliber team. How many schools can say they have
a back up coach already in training. Gary Anderson rocks! I find it
pretty amazing that year in and out, that the coaches at the University in Salt
Lake are always in high demand for job openings. That never seems to even be a
topic in other parts of Utah. Things that make you go hmmm.
bigutefan:Hear, hear! Chow would be the greater loss to the Utah
program. Sitake is a fine coach, but he's really just picked up where the
masters left off. Utah's defenses have been strong going back to Fred
Whittingham. The torch was passed to his son Kyle in 1995, then USU HC Gary
Andersen in 2005, and then finally to Sitake for the past 3 seasons. If/when
Sitake leaves, we'll have little trouble in replacing him. Chow on the other
hand....I can be counted among the Utah fans who never expected Chow
would be a mainstay at the U. He IS head coaching material, and would do very
well at Hawai'i should they offer the position, and should he accept. I would
wish him well, but certainly prefer to keep him in SLC.Good luck
@bigpuke"I find it pretty amazing that year in and out, that the

openings. That never seems to even be a topic in other parts of Utah"While I think a good many Cougar fans would list Kyle as a better coach
than Bronco, your statement that it's "Never" a topic for other
coaches (hint, hint: Bronco) is inaccurate. Bronco was on the short list for the
UCLA job and asked them to remove his name from consideration. The
UCLA job is arguably a higher profile job than the ASU job (if that rumor was
even true because we heard nothing official from the school to support it).
