If you are a Dictator or Republican this is great news for a socialist
government to control society. It does prove that low wages and oppression does
work to take over and control the lives and souls of its citizens. Now to
convince the richer half to share more of their wealth and prosperity with the
less fortunate, and government. Once we are 100% poor our freindly neighborhood
comrades in government will feed us some gruel and take us to our factory job
assigned to us.
Questions poor people should ask themselves every day! Why am I poor? Lack of
marketable job skills? Unprepared and unqualified for higher paying jobs?
Addictions? Laziness? No father in the home? Ease of obtaining public welfare?
All the above? Or am I simply a victim of being suppressed somehow by the greedy
"rich", the "winners of life's lottery"? You decide! The
answer you give will more than anything else determine whether or not you will
always remain poor! Been there done that! I did something about it and now, I am
not poor anymore! If I can do it, you can as well! Mostly, it really does come
down to our choices our decisions and our investments in ourselves. I know some
will not agree and will become angry and that in itself is a choice, like living
Wow! Cooperative learning, hands on, and standardized testing was supposed to
boost the educational level of our people. It was research based and we've spent
alot. Why so many poor and low income people? Why so many foreigners coming in,
and taking our skilled jobs?Just one of many examples.-- Skilled
& high tech jobs in the Edison New Jersey area are taken by people from
India and China. More than half of Edison's population are from India and
China.Half or more of Missouri State University's student body, are
from South Korea, India, and China.
What is wrong with this picture? We give away money overseas to
placate pressure groups and yet Americans are struggling to make ends meet.
Many go to bed hungrey or go without medicines because they can not afford it.
We have misplaced values.Recently my wife and my self viewed the
movie "The Help". It takes place in the South around the
1960s and deals with the black ladies who worked as domestics. At
one part of the movie one of the domestics asks the lady of the house for a loan
of $75 because she is short of money to send her twin sons to college. The lady
responds I am going to do you a favor. I am not going to loan you the money so
you will resourceful and find it somewhere else. The maid then said I will work
for free for it and the ladys response was No!Basically I see this
attitude with many of the posters on KSL and in my opinion it is very
unChristian.I would say to these folks lighten up you might be in
their position some day.
@Worf: Care to cite your last sentence. Here's what I found:
"southwesternMissouri, Missouri State University, and CNAS are not
diverse." And from the University's own website, they are trying to
address diversity, as they don't have much diversity at their school. Perhaps
you were citing MSU's China campus, which is just a tad misleading!
if you have nothing it is almost imposible to train yourself because of
education is so expensive now in colledge for example getting up to and well
above ten thousand a year, how are you going to pay for that when you make
16,000 per year? the people that are making the most money help to make
education expensive by having high wages. not everyone can go to colledge anyway
because someone has to do all the other work. no child left behind is the worst
thing this country has ever done. when someone cannot make it in the education
system why dont we train them in a vocation so they can be skilled. the germans
do this and have some of most sdkilled workers in the world. but this will never
happen in this country because the elected dont answer to the people at all
College isn't that expensive if you're poor. You can apply for a grant. The
federal government will cover: housing, food, tuition, books and you can still
work a part time job. The resources are there. It just takes someone getting off
of their butt, and going up to the school and asking what resources are
available. Then formulating a plan.I worked several part time jobs
and paid cash for my university education. Sometimes I could only afford 1 class
for the semester. Sometimes I would work more hours in the semester so I could
save up and pay for two full semesters. It's a matter of getting off of ones
butt and doing something about it.If you're physically that bad of a
shape that you can't work. Then you should be on welfare and not complaining
about not going to school. I doubt 50% of the country should be in that
position. But, then again democrats need dependent voters.

Liberal Ted:You are really out of touch with reality. College tuition has
outpaced the Pell Grant! It doesn't even cover the full cost of tuition at my
University and my friends who get Pell Grants need to come up with hundreds of
dollars to cover the difference. It doesn't cover books. I don't know how you
think housing & food would be free!Several part time jobs aren't going
to pay for even one class, let alone rent and living costs. When did you
graduate from college? Back when tuition was $200 a semester? I think that's
when my parents went to school in early 1980. My tuition will be rising to
$2700. spring semester and one of my books is $550. When you go to ask the
college offices for help they offer loans at 8% interest. There are few
scholarships available for students who are not freshman. Reality check!
