Let's just hope everyone on the team can stay healthy. If they can, the Jazz
could turn out to be a pretty solid team and allow the new guys to progress at
the right speed without overdoing it. The future of the team looks pretty bright
at the moment.
I'm so glad to see Memo back. I've watched some highlights of him in Turkey and
he looks like the Memo we remember. Funny how people knock Utah, but some of
these guys we get in trades or as free agents, or draft like AK and Deron (until
the end) end up really liking it here. Why? The fans are the best, loudest,
most supportive in the NBA. Can't wait to see this team develop.
Great to hear that Memo is in good shape and feeling better. But, how is his
achilles tendon going to hold up in the physical rigors of the NBA? I wonder.
Mehmet has hurt himself when he puts the ball on the floor, which is one of his
patented moves. So, will he abandon this to maintain his health. If he does,
he will jeopardize his effectivness of outside shooting. He also will become
more and more of a liability on the defensive end of the floor. Okur is a
turning point in his career when injuries are piling up him. This requires
reduced minutes for him to tolerate arriving at the end of the regular season to
be at full strength for a possible playoff run. He needs to pay more attention
to his physical strength conditioning program to help avoid future injuries or
aggravating past injuries. We will keep our fingers crossed. Good luck Okur.
The team needs your contribution.
Doesn't sound like Sap is practicing at the 3, but rather is still a 4.
The most frustrating thing I read and I hope I'm wrong is CJ and Hayward
competing for the 3 spot and not the 2 spot, sounds like Bell may have the 2
spot, I hope I'm wrong, I'd love to see CJ or Hayward at the 2 and the other at
the 3. Burks will take alittle time to displace whoever is at the 2 but I just
don't want Bell starting, I'd rather have Burks start even though he is rookie.
The fact that a 6 year veteran CJ Miles is having to compete with Hayward a
second year player with limited experience tells you alot.Hayward is
rolling and CJ is a joke of a6 year veteran.CJ should have made this
a foregone conclusion before camp every started with all the experience he has
over Hayward.I sure hope Hayward gets minutes ahead of Bell at the
2. I can't stand to watch Bell pass up open shots again.
I agree with others that Bell has lost his starting job and Hayward should start
at the 2, but I'd like to see Hayward get 35+ minutes a game, so maybe he will
play both positions at times. Also, Bell might start each half and Hayward
finish each half at the 2 or 3 if CJ somehow beats out Gordon at the 3. It's
good Memo is feeling good and lighter and good that he can mentor Kanter about
things, but I still see Memo as a bench player now. If Josh Howard comes, then I
would hope to see CJ starting each game on the bench.
I hope for the sake of hope that Burks is not starting. That's bad
player development, you put your rook in to fight the likes of Bryant, Wade, or
Granger and you create Adam Morrison
I miss Jerry Sloan, who would have said something like, "We need to realize
if we want to have a chance to win some ballgames in this league, we're going to
have to start wanting it more than the other guys. Guys are going to have to
learn to compete. Not just jackpot around all summer and then think they can
come in here and make the playoffs."
Every single player on the Jazz roster should be better than they were last
year, this team has a shot at the playoffs if 2 or 3 players make big
strides. As for position battles, Milsap may be the Jazz's best
player, but I think he helps this team more if he comes off the bench. Hayward
will start and it doesn't matter if it's at the 2 or 3, it's the most
interchangeable position in basketball and he can play both.
@byronbcai think every single player on the Jazz roster except CJ
miles would be better that last year...im just kidding..i just hope...that we
win ballgames...go deep in the playoffs and be kind of like a cinderella story
in the NBA this year...it would bring back the fans...small market team with no
Superstar...getting deep to the playoffs...im sure is only made for movies...but
with this group of guys...sky is the limit...
