I don't see how anyone could support either Gingrich or Romney. Neither of them
can be trusted, and neither of them would be good for the United States. No
Gingrich is the "unRomney." Get used to it. The Christian right of
the GOP will not accept Romney. I wish this could cause Mormons to re-think
some of their cherished political views. Time will tell. Mabye LDS could even
revert to their radical socialist past, as historian Bushman has speculated.
"up for grabs, Gingrich making big play", If Gingrich reads the
headlines he might think it is time to cheat on his wife...again.Romney would be better served running as an independent and stop kowtowing to
the Southern religious right.I hope some of my fellow LDS wake up
and see that the gaining support for a Washington insider, cheated on 2 wives
while one had cancer and left the House in disgrace is all about the evangelical
far right that has taken over the Republican party. But of course conservatives
Mormons will just vote R without a thought, again. The Republican
party's view of Mormons clearly reflects with Newt. Mormons are the dutiful
wife (voters) and are always there for the husband (voting automatically R)
while being cheated on by Newt. They cheat because they know you'll never leave
Romney is a stinken' Republican capitalist as far as I'm concerned. But if I
were to give him some advice it would be to completely "come clean"
about his Mormonism. He needs to quit trying to convince the GOP right that
he's not really a Mormon partisan. Like most Mormons, Mormonism largely defines
Romney, both his liabilities and his strengths which are considerable. His LDS
church service is important and the electorate needs to know it. Besides, all
of the other GOP candidates are disasters waiting to happen in the presidency.
"Romney would be better served running as an independent and stop kowtowing
to the Southern religious right."Yeah but he'll just run a nice
campaign season beating the candidates he should while losing to the top tier
ones; in the end the Southern Bible Conference candidates will play for the
championship. (sorry, had to do it).
RE: marxist, many would agree that it would be best if Romney were to be above
board and honest and run as a Mormon independent. It could open the door to new
political views and variety of candidates and break the D & R monopoly,
perhaps even lead to the good fortune of a parliamentary system.
