But core Republicans don't like Romney. Why, with everyone else out of the
Republican field, he only polls at 21-26%.Part of it is fundamental
dislike for his religious beliefs among evangelical Christians. However, the
major feeling centers around his sudden change of views (shift Rightward from
positions maintained for years prior to his losing the 2008 Republican
nomination for president and seeing a need to make the necessary adjustment to
win the support of Tea Party zealots) and the fact that most conservatives think
he is phony and can't be trusted. To most conservatives, Romney is
basically a Right-of-Center Obama. They cite his service as governor of
Massachusetts and his recorded statements that remain avilable to all. In many
ways it is interesting to watch the fight erupting between the Establishment and
the Fringe of the Republican Party as they risk losing out once again to Barack
Obama. This is particularly of note because the dislike of Congress
is go great, voters may choose to put people in who will actually work to get
the nation's affairs in order. It may mean giving Democrats control of the
House as well as a necessary super-majority Senate.
But, except for here, gingrich is perfectloy entitled to continue a long battle
against the fair haired candidate.
I couldn't get past the first line of the article - "the romney camp is
worried"!How does the author KNOW that? Did the Romney
campaign tell him that or is the reporter just making up things for his paper in
an attempt to be as unreliable as the NY Times? I suspect the latter."mad hatter" "With everyone else......." Has someone
dropped out of the Republican nomination process that I don't know about? Last
I checked there were 7 other candidates so getting 20-25 percent of the
nomination votes is still pretty good numbers.

Ron Paul went after Newt Gingrich pretty badly in an internet ad. Maybe Ron
Paul could do Mitt Romney's dirty work. It appears Gingrich is quite the flip
flopper. And he was having an affair while accusing Bill Clinton of the Monica
Lewinsky affair. So he's also a hippocrite. But I'm not condemning Gingrich or
Clinton. I think Gingrich has repented and has been helped by the 12 steps.
And whatever Clinton does is none of my business. I really don't
think Gingrich is going to make it much further. If he does, it will be a
shame. Just like it was a shame that McCain was the 2008 nominee. And of
course it was a shame that the most radical and least experienced candidate in
history was elected president in 2008.Obama is such a weak and
harmful president, that he makes Clinton look like George Washington.I like how Mitt Romney is running a nice campaign. And he's tough when he
needs to be.
