utah is going to a bowl game?
Hopefully the injuries are not serious.
Glad to hear that Sam Brenner is going to be OK.Good luck to Brenner
and White on your recoveries.
Glad to hear it. All rivalries aside, it is just a game and so sad (and scary)
to see young men get hurt, especially like this.
@Cali CougYeah, can you believe it? Utah's going to a bowl game!
And ironically, even at only 7-5, it's going to be a better game than whatever
bowl game BYU is going to. Yep, independence is awesome and the PAC12 is
lame!Oh, and thanks for bringing the smack into an article about a
potentially serious player injury...BYU fans always keeping it classy!
I'm glad Brenner is ok that was a scary moment. I hope these guys can recover
in time to play in the bowl game. coug fans this is not the article
that you should be taking shots on. This is about a player that was almost
paralyzed today. Feel free to comment on the other articles but have a little
class on this one. This was a tough way to end the season. I hope
the Utes can win their bowl game for recruiting and to take a little momentum
into next season.
Good news, I hope he recovers quickly.
Thanks DN for the update.Hope Brenner continues to make progress
toward a full recovery.
You know when someone in a football game is seriously hurt when members of the
opposing team gather to wish you well, either in prayer or in a moment of
reverent silence. I didn't watch the game but based on what I heard on the
radio, it sounds like the Colorado players were doing that.Great to
hear Brenner is doing okay. Those moments are always so terrifying.
KSL News just reported that Brenner has full motion, and w-rays came back
negative.I think all are breathing a collective sigh of relief, and
may we all continue to wish for a complete and speedy recovery.
I was at the game... scary moment. Colorado players were totally classy with
their reverence during the medical attention and Utah player prayers. Thank you
CU. So glad Sam is doing ok.
The best for a quick and full recovery for both him and John White. I hate
career-ending injuries for any player of any team to suffer. May the healing
process be short and effective.
Glad to hear he's going to be ok...
From a BYU fan....Hope all turns out OK for all the players. It is just a game
and I hope they recover and enjoy their college playing days. This is why school
is so important. Education must come first. Sports should be at a lower level.
Great news about Brenner...very scary stuff. I wish him and White and Kruger
speedy recoveries all around. I'm proud of the Utes (yes, I am a Coug). Breaking
into the PAC 12, without a proven QB, has been a tall order. Coach Whit, staff,
and players have done well. I believe they will be a PAC 12 contender in years
to come. Cougs, lose the smack...especially on an article like this.
Thank you for your comments oldcougar!I believe both Utah and BYU's
football teams are in a better position now than if they had remained with the
MWC. All the best to Brenner for a full and speedy recovery. It is
a relief to hear his injury wasn't as serious as they originally thought it was.
Hope White and Kruger heal up PDQ as well.Go Utes! And yes...this
Ute fan is genuinely pulling for BYU's program to excel in the upcoming years.
Glad to hear he's okay! Hoping for a speedy recovery for White IV and Kruger as
Best to Brenner and the other injured.----------Cali
Coug | 6:43 p.m. Nov. 25, 2011 Visalia, CAutah is going to a bowl
game?-----------No smack talk on injury articles, please. That also includes Ute fans. Have you learned nothing? Smack talking a
smack talker only ratchets up the smack talk. We Cougar fans, who you failed to
notice make up 7 of the first 16 well-wishers -- including the first three --
will police our own.
Huge sigh of relief. Man that was a quiet, tough moment when Brenner was down.
When you think about it, these guys, especially the linemen take a
lot and sacrifice a lot to play football. Especially the offensive linemen -
they don't catch passes, they don't run the ball, they don't throw passes, they
don't score points, and if they have any statistics under their name, it is
usually a penalty. Sure they get scholarships, but the amount of pounding they
take - the injuries, and risks to their own health like this one really makes me
admire the guys that play their hearts out - win or lose. We sometimes selfish
and ungrateful fans need to stop and thank these guys for their efforts and
willingness to risk themselves for our entertainment. Win or lose, these guys on
whatever team - BYU included :) deserve our thanks and respect. Especially the
"utah is going to a bowl game?"Wow this comment has 4
recommendations....This is sad. I don't know any other way to describe it.
Some classless fans do not understand how to put things into perspective. I
hope if something like this ever happened to BYU, Utah fans would have the class
not to post anything like that...Anyways, thank goodness Brenner is
okay! That was a scary moment that put sports into perspective for a
moment....Sports prove to be very insignificant when something like that
Almost as sad as the injuries is the insecurities and lack of character
displayed by people who would talk smack on a report about a near-paralyzing
injury. At least Sam and John White and Kruger will get the best medical
attention available. People with lack of character have to first admit that they
have a problem and then seek help on their own. That is not a sure happening.
I was disappointed in yesterday's game, but at least the Utes will
play in a bowl game. More exciting (because it was less expected), Utah State is
bowl eligible. Not very often that three Utah teams get that honor. The Armed
Forces Bowl is not the highest honor we can have, but I'm still excited to watch
the Cougars play there, and hope for the best on Oahu.
