    In our house, we do have much to be thankful for.
    But my heart goes out to the many who don't know how they will pay for shelter, food or medical expenses and for those who've diligently spent months and months sending out resumes and knocking on doors.
    My Thanksgiving prayer will be for you--that your efforts will be fruitful

    And, that we can bridge the political divide, and urge our leaders to work together for the good of the country, setting aside ideological differences.
    United we stand, divided we fall.

    I appreciate this; it gives us the original and authentic spirit of the holiday. President Washington presents himself in sentiments that belie the oft expressed idea that he was merely a Deist, a concept that suggest a rather cold rationality in simply conceding there must be a god. Here we have his personal and intimate feelings of and for a God who is very close to people, to himself,very kind and concerned for the wellbeing of individuals nations and all mankind.
