In our house, we do have much to be thankful for.But my heart goes out to
the many who don't know how they will pay for shelter, food or medical expenses
and for those who've diligently spent months and months sending out resumes and
knocking on doors. My Thanksgiving prayer will be for you--that your
efforts will be fruitfulAnd, that we can bridge the political
divide, and urge our leaders to work together for the good of the country,
setting aside ideological differences.United we stand, divided we fall.
Thank you for publishing this beautiful sentiment from our first president.
I appreciate this; it gives us the original and authentic spirit of the holiday.
President Washington presents himself in sentiments that belie the oft
expressed idea that he was merely a Deist, a concept that suggest a rather cold
rationality in simply conceding there must be a god. Here we have his personal
and intimate feelings of and for a God who is very close to people, to
himself, very kind and concerned for the wellbeing of individuals nations and all
What would the ACLU have said about this?
