Please Mitt... Be legit! Keep your campaign clean of any mudslinging... You are
above it... At least so your religion says! :) Focus only on why we are going to
be a better country with you not why we have been struggling with someone else
or would struggle with some more of the same. If you need assistance on how to

OH the nerve of this RINO's first Romney TV ad blasts Obama. Oh I'm sure now,
Mitt Romney will buy up all these failed companies, that the GOP crashed back in
2008, lay everyone off, then sell them to China. Then Mitt Romney will candidly
talk about the central role of Jesus Christ in his faith, drinking and smoking
once as a teenager, and what music he has on his iPad. The Treasury Department

We'll have to see how Romney makes it through the Republican primary elections.
If he can get through and get the nomination without having to yeild too much to
the Tea Party wingnuts, he may maintain a modicum of honor to appeal to the
Independents. Just saying "Obama is a failure" is not enough to get
the vote of anyone with a real concern for this nation. He needs to be specific
in what he would do differently from the current administration. As
has been noted elsewhere, the real heavyweights of the Republican Party have
chosen to sit out this election cycle. Few with any real sense of the state of
affairs and the economy would envy Obama and the job he has to do. Simplistic
rhetoric will only translate into failure regardless of who is president. And
with Christie and Rubio both looking ahead to 2016, if not Obama winning a
second term, they sense a Republican president in 2012 would probably fail and
only have a single term.Re: ute alumni | 12:20 p.m. Nov. 22, 2011

While I hope the future leader of our nation will hold conservative family
values and a similar set of beliefs, the fact that Governor Romney and I share
the same faith makes it even more important how he manages his Presidential
Campaign. I would rather see Romney lose the election with keeping an honest
campaign rather than win with smear tactics. Politics does not give us
permission to "[commit] a little sin; yea, lie a little, take the advantage
of one because of his words, dig a pit for thy neighbor..." Unfortunately
however, this is exactly what is being taught. If I were Romney, I
would recant the advertisement, graciously admit the error, then dutifully shape
up the campaign.
This new ad is not new Romney.Last week Romney was saying Obama
called Americans "lazy." And didn't Romney write a book
entitled: "No Apology," essentially claming Obama was going around the
world apologizing for America? When, in fact, Obama didn't apologize. When, in
fact, Obama pointed out great things America has accomplished and contributed to
the world, while acknowledging America isn't perfect. Well, this
type of stuff--twisting, distorting, lying is like catnip to Republicans.
I am extremely disappointed in Mitt Romney. I thought he would take the high
road but unfortunately he has stooped to the Karl Rove type of campaign. The
only two Republicans I see that have any honesty are Jon Huntsman and Ron Paul.
Even though I don't like a lot of their stands on issures, they seem to be the
only ones that will tell the truth. One big problem in this Country is most
people don't want to hear the truth if it conflicts with their party's stand.
We seem to get what we deserve as we turn a blind eye to the truth and it is
destroying this great nation.
Romney's ad misrepresented a quote from Obama, but it doesn't matter because the
ad had the desire effect. Really? It's OK to bend the rules, lie, cheat,
stretch the truth so long as you get the desired results? Isn't this what we
are all trying to eliminate?
It should be against the law for any politician to take snippets of speech and
use them out of context. Generally they are outright lies, and that should not
be tolerated. But as the artical noted, it gets the desired result. However,
I'm not sure how anyone can feel good about winning through lying and cheating.
I fear Romney is pandering too much to the right wing of the republican party
and will turn off the moderates in the country who will decide who the next
president will be. I worry about a person who has such a massive personal
fortune. It seems he is trying to buy the presidency. While I realize one can
buy anything with money it seems a shame that the presidency can be purchased
with money. We as a country should be above that.

I've been a long-time Romney supporter but I don't support this nastiness. This
is exactly the type of thing McCain did to Romney last time around, and it made

Romney's the only politician I've ever supported with my wallet,
because I believed in his principles. I'm really sorry to see this behavior in
his campaign, and of course I won't be sending any more money unless it's clear
he can get back on the high road and stay there.
Mudslinging? These adds contain outright misrepresentations and lies. Will
someone please send the good Bishop a copy of the Articles of Faith? There is a
great difference between hardball politics and taking statements completely out
of context. Obama did not say Americans are Lazy, he said that government and
corporations have not been as diligent as they might have been.
Rutland vs. Medfield: "C'mon, Mitt! Be upstanding. Be honest. Be moral. Be
ethical. Be the man most of these posters think you are and not the campaigner

This election is not about who said what, or who is Mormon or who is without God
in the world. It is about finding someone who can stop a super-power (America)
from free-falling into financial disaster. Bush couldn't do it and Obama
obviously couldn't do it. Please stop fooling yourselves about this. America
must elect a senior executive who understands financial responsibility. It is not about maintaining the current distribution of jobs. It is
about creating jobs, but the Government does not need to be creating and
maintaining all of these jobs internally. The Government needs to create an
environment wherein the American people can create jobs. Then America as a
nation can step up and do their part to stimulate job creation.See
the big picture. When companies downsize they are making themselves more
efficient. Restructuring adds longevity. Then more people can benefit in the
long run. Congress cannot make these tough decisions. Mitt can.America needs a leader who knows how to do that. The only candidate with that
kind of experience is the Republican Mitt Romney. Wake up America. America needs
the longevity. We need the redistribution of jobs and we need it now.
It is disappointing to read these boards and see some LDS trying to justify the
blatant misrepresentations that have allegedly occurred in this ad for reasons
such as "its politics" or "democrats do it too", etc. I
thought taking the high road was an important part of the gospel, as long as a
willingness to stand up for what is RIGHT. When non-members read this kind of
support what kind of message do you think it is sending, both from a gospel
perspective and a perspective of Romney's candidacy.
Now Romney begins to show he's just another lying politician like the rest of
them.Ask yourself, does he really have this nation's best interests
at heart?Obama's approach to the economic crisis has been deemed
ineffective... but I must point out that we really aren't any worse off than we
were 4 years ago under Bush. There is only one small step between "not any
worse" and "a little better"... do we want to give Obama another
four years to make that step? Looking at the situation in Europe, things here
could certainly be much worse. You have to know that we won't come
out of this recession in one Presidential term or even two... it is going to
take decades for America, and the world, to recover. So, in the end,
do you go with the devil you know hoping for more of the same... or do you go
with a stranger and gamble that he doesn't make things worse?
@Grammy3"...a very dishonest person with little to none
Say it aint so Mitt - you're a liar?
Are there racial undertones to Romney's "Believe in America"
advertisement?"There are three things about the racial
composition of the people in the background: For Obama, whenever theyre shown
clearly, theyre a mix of whites and blacks. Whenever theyre either presented in
dark light so you cant see, or presented at a speed that makes them subliminal,
theyre all black," emailed Drew Weston, a professor of psychology at Emory
University and the author of The Political Brain: The Role of Emotion in
Deciding the Fate of the Nation. "For Romney, there isnt a black person in
the background in any of the scenes hes in. its inconceivable that his team
didnt think to make sure there was at least some diversity in the crowds he was
speaking to unless the goal was to juxtapose subliminal black people against
white people for Romney."
I'm a bit surprised that Romney chose to take Obama's words; "If we keep
talking about the economy; we're going to lose" out of context. If you've
been following the blogosphere, you know that Obama was in fact quoting the
McCain campaign during the presidential campaign of 2008. The way this video is
spliced together, it sounds as though these were Obama's very own words. It's
really disappointing, but I guess it's a sign the gloves are off and this is
absolutely a dirty, no holds barred fight.

Does Jon Huntsman campaign like this? NO. Does Jon Huntsman stand head and
shoulders above the other 7 candidates? YES. Is Utah rated as the best state for
businesses to conduct their business in for the past 2 years any result of our
former govenor Jon Huntsman's quality leadership? YES. Does Utahn's and the rest
of the nation recognize Jon Huntsman's qualities, service to nation attitude,
foreign world background, intellect and public speaking clarity? NO. This is
without any doubt the best qualified man to lead this nation from it's economic,
corrupt business ways, and defeat Obama of the the other laughable candidates. I
say this being a life long democrat until the last 10 years of understanding the
greedy filthy ways our country is managed by elected reps now being a reformed
independent. There is only "1" qualified candidate up for election
voters, so get on board now and vote for Jon Huntsman!
The latest. The Romney team will not apologize for their lying, and we can
expect more ads like these. Once a liar always a liar. Are we are just now
seeing the real Romney, and not the "weather vane" candidate of the
past. If he and his campaign are so willing to lie, what can we expect of him
as President--lying us into another war perhaps?
