This will be as competitive as the other game with the cougars.
I am having problems with my internet feed and can't watch this game. What's up
@Ken Nice prediction.
Well, they won it. But they didn't deserve it. How do you give up a 10 point
lead in that kind of weather? Congrats Utes, nice win.
On a snowy day in Pullman on Senior night, Ill take any win! Good game Utes! U
showed Halliday what a DI defense really looks like (21-48??, 4 INT)
@Frankenberry "Well, they won it. But they didn't deserve it."Spoken like a true BYU fan.Doesn't matter who had more
yards, or more turnovers, or more penalties. Winning is winning.
This win was special. As in hooray for the special teams. With
Washington losing, Utah ascends the bowl tie-ins. A win next week, and the Utes
(regardless of who plays for the PAC-12 championship) will at least head to the
Sun.Congrats!====Frankenberry | 6:45 p.m. Nov. 19,
2011 Saint George, UT "Well, they won it. But they didn't
deserve it."Explain why Washington State "deserved"
it. The Utes led for most of the game, forced 4 INTs, and had awesone special
teams play. Yet, we're supposed to believe that a team that had a quasi-miracle
last drive was supposed to win? But I do enjoy the monster cereals....
Great win Utah! Wasn't the prettiest of wins i've ever seen but ill take it
considering the weather conditions and how the game played out. A couple of
fumbles allowed WSU to stay in the game but as well as their 4 turnovers made
for an interesting night. Need to work on penalties! Fun game to watchgo Utes
I thought it was over with Utah leading 27-17 with a little over 6 minutes left
after White's 60 yard TD run. WSU made it exciting. I admit to getting
nervous, getting a first and goal at the six with less than a minute to go down
by 3. Our defense generally played well, but WSU was able to exploit the
prevent defense to get it to a tie. Much better defense in overtime, driving
the Cougars backwards and setting up the interception, which took pressure off
the offense. Meanwhile 9 miles away, USU was also in overtime at
Idaho at the same time, where they also were able to get the win sealing it with
an interception after two reviewed calls went Idaho's way. Aggies keep their
bowl hopes alive and with 5 wins on the season, this is officially their best
season since joining the WAC 7 years ago.
Change of pace to see a Cougar team that didn't quit.
I like the win but the DB's going MIA the last quarter is disappointing.
Immature penalties were also ugly. One more next week!
Have to agree with the DB disappearing act. Not good. Thank goodness for a
Isn't it great watching your team play PAC 12 games! And beat them!
Way to go Utes!! 4 in a row and counting...
Kyle will be upset with the silly penalties. We will destroy Colorado next week.
How about Hayes in the 2nd hale and the Wolfman played like a stud again. The
weather was crazy. Utah has a serious shot at playing in the pac12
championship. About a 50% chance. Hard to believe. Keep it up. Going 8-4.
Where's Lifelong? U of A up 7-0 at ASU.
Umm! According to Chris B, the utes have the best defense in the pac.
Washington State, twenty seven points and Oregon seven at half with USC. Again,
Chris off target. USC has a better defense. Yep--Stanford, Oregon and Arizona
State also has a better defense.Looks like Utah and Washington State
are the same caliber.
Hate the prevent defense in the 4th quarter, but a win none the less.
Just wanted to point out how amazing Kyle Whittingham is. He has taken the first
non-bcs team to the big leagues and (assuming the Utes beat Colorado next week)
will finish a very respectable 8-4. With a possible 9th victory in a bowl game
against another BCS team, which probably is the third highest tier bowl game in
Utah history. Utah lost their staring QB early in the season and have been using
a QB who did not have one division 1 offer and did not participate in fall camp.
Utah returned NOBODY at running back, the only team in division 1 to not have at
least someobody who had played before. Utah's RB is statistically one of the
best in the Pac-12. Finally, the Utah defense is absolutely tough as nails, one
of the better ones in a long time. Whitt should be a candidate for Coach of the
Year. What he has done is unheard of, Utah was playing 2-3 BCS teams a year and
going undefeated a few times. This year Utah played 10 BCS teams and was kicking
a field goal to send the USC game in OT in the Colisium.
Big time in big-time league.
"Looks like Utah and Washington State are the same caliber."Worf, then I guess there is a huge separation between Utah/Wash. St. and byu
considering the 54-10 beatdown earlier this year.
Worf,You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Utah is
#2 in scoring defense and #3 in total defense in the PAC12.
bigutefan I completely agree. Whitt has put together a fantastic coaching
staff and taught these kids to play ball at a level never seen in the state of
Utah. Being in the Pac-12 is an incredible experience! Well done, Coach
Whitt!!Congratulations to the Utes!
@WorfWell Chris B was correct that through 10 games Utah ranked #1 in the
PAC 12 in Scoring Defense, USC is #6. However he was wrong in total defense
where Utah was #3 behind Cal and Stanford, not USC #4, Oregon #5, or ASU #7.
WSU came in at #8. In fact, the only defensive category where USC outranks Utah
is in rushing defense where they are #2 allowing 100.4yards/G and Utah is #3
with 100.8 yds/game.
What an absolute gut check! This may have been their best win of the year.Well, except for the 54 - 10 drubbing of little brother, of course.
Need to get a few things out of the way: 1) I missed the very first part of the
game, as it was announced that it would be delayed by 30 mins, so when I tuned
in around 3:30 PM, the game was already in progress. Come on KJZZ. Announce it
correctly next time. 2) Penalties reared their ugly head again. 3) Disappointing
defense in the second half prevented Utah from putting WSU away like they should
have. But, I can't expect perfection every game. Now, on the positive
side, I am amazed at Utah's coaching staff. Most likely Utah will win next week
and end up 8-4. That will exceed my early season prediction of 7-5, and had I
known Utah's QB for most of the season would be from a no-name junior college
that shut down its program, and end up 8-4, I would have freaked out. Now, if a
win comes against Colo. I get to do just that. Utah has one of the
best coaching staffs in the country. Definitely top 10, and probably top 5.John White IV gets 40+ carries! That guy is a freak of nature!
Penalties could have broken it for the Utes, but they pulled it out. Very
satisfying win. The Utes are right at home in the PAC. As a fan, this year has
been unfolding even better than expected. Nice to see games and
competition worth seeing, isn't it?
I couldn't agree with my fellow Ute fans more. This was a great victory over a
hot Washington State team that had beaten Arizona State the previous week. This
showed a lot of guts in adverse conditions. And White is a beast---one of the
very best RB's to play at Utah, and that is saying a lot considering NFL players
Jamaal Anderson, Mike Anderson, Chris Fuamatu-Maafala, etc.At 7-4,
with non-conference victories over an excellent Montana State team, Pitt on the
road, and a 54-10 slaughter of BYU, it's been a good season. No one said that
playing in the Pac 12 would be easy. But it's sure great to have quality
opponents each and every week.Go Utes!!
Congrats on beating the UNLV, Colorado State, Wyoming and New Mexico's of the
Pac 12 (Oregon State, Washington State, Arizona, UCLA)...Wake me up
when Utah actually beat a good Pac 12 team.Guess we'll have to see
IF it happens next year.
Re: Portland Trail BlazersWhat would you call the 54-10 beat down
of our little brother earlier this year?
@Brave Sir Robin "Spoken like a true BYU fan"Them's fightin'
words, cowboy.@MiP: I didn't say WSU 'deserved it.' Utah did lead
most of the game. It just seemed that when the weather set in; the greatest
12th man there is; we gave up a 10 point lead. Their QB could barely see the
receivers he was throwing to. Maybe I shouldn't have said we didn't deserve it
but we were lucky to win it. Could've gone the other way real easy.Understand guys: I'm as much a fan as you are. I'm glad they won today and in
recent weeks. As much as anyone I hope Utah keeps building and improving to the
point they're in the discussion with the top teams in the country consistantly.
But today showed there's still work to do.
Portland Trail Gangster and Worffy...Did you read all the props on
this site for Coach Kyle? Awesome eh?But to round out his
performance, can you guy see if having your O line leave the sidelines from the
3 point stance is patented by Bronco? It is really cool and I want to petition
Utah to add that to our current regiments. It's a pretty good
addition to BYU's play book and I feel we should steal it...Do that
for us and report back...I would hope we could add that for our bowl game...
Portland, yeah it's a fluke. A fluke 9/17 leading to a fluke game tonight, which
is turning into a fluke 2011 and perpetuating a fluke generation of great Utah
football since 2002, and by some random accident we mistakenly got invited to
leave BYU behind and move on to bigger and better accomplishments in a new
AZ WON!!! I am starting to smell roses!
@Portland Trail Blazers | 11:14 p.m. Nov. 19, 20117-4 and soon to be
8-4 is no "fluke". Having a top 3 PAC-12 defense is also
no "fluke". Speaking of "fluke" please tell us
why winning Ole Miss (2-9) 14-15 wasn't a fluke? WSU (4-7) is a much better
team than Ole Miss.Face the facts Utah is the best team in the
I predicted title game a month ago. You all laughed! Utah over oregon for
There are very few BYU fans on the Utah board tonight, thats unusual...Looks
like most of them have givin up on this college football season.. how sad:(
although I cannot say I blame them.
Over 100 yards in penalties. Not good. If we do make it to the conference
title game, we won't beat Stanford or Oregon doing that. The Utes still don't
control their own destiny. UCLA looks like the most likely Pac 12 South
winner.Still I'm excited for the possibility of finishing 8-4 after
the way we started Pac 12 play. Go Utes!
@mormonute"UCLA looks like the most likely Pac 12 South
winner".Really? So you are saying Utah has a better chance of
losing to Colorado than UCLA has of losing to USC? You do realize if UCLA loses
to USC and Utah beats Colorado, Utah and UCLA are both 5-4? Utah holds the
tiebreaker buddy. If anything it is more likely that ASU wins the South...All
they have to do is beat Cal
Congrats Utes. I'm surprised WSU didn't go for the win in regulation, electing
instead to go for the FG and the tie.So who wins the tie breaker if
UCLA, ASU and U all finish 5-4 to go to the championship game to face the Ducks?
I wonder what the spread will be . . . I'm guessing the Ducks will be 18 point
favorites over any of the three.I can't believe ASU lost to Arizona.
They are fading fast. It's too bad the Trojans aren't eligible. I'd
love to see an Oregon vs USC rematch, as would most football fans.
I hope the Utes continue to improve, but somewhere along the line the offense
needs to help White out, 42 carries, a win is a win, but this offense can't
compete with the upper tier teams. And one last thing that needs to be pointed
out. In watching great teams, they seem to thrive on the big stage. It's a
mentality of ...lets play...anytime...anywhere,ie: LSU-Alabama. Something I find
consistant with true power houses....They never claim to be BCS bound or
National champions before the season begins...They also never have fans who pin
their hopes on not having to play two of the top teams in the conference, as
well as thank their lucky stars that another top program is on
probation...therefore they're eliminated also. People always remember one very
simple fact.....You're only the best....when you've beaten the best.
@Portland TrailblazersIf anything is evidenced by the way the Pac 12
teams have picked each other apart this year is that there are no UNLVs or New
Mexicos in the conference. The teams that are down this year are still
dangerous and there is no doubt that they would all easily be heavily favored
over every team on BYU's schedule with the exception of Utah, Texas, and TCU...
coincidentally BYU's three losses and the ONLY teams on BYU's schedule that have
winning records.I'll take victories against Arizona, UCLA, and
Washington State over victories against San Jose State, Idaho, and New Mexico
State any time.I'm sure BYU players feel the same way, I hope for
their sake they end up in the Big East so the players can at least feel like
their competing for something against some other decent teams.
If we're going off facts and stats, then lets face it, BYU is the best team in
Let's be real, UCLA is playing USC next... if it wasn't for the probation USC
would've represented the South division. Utes definitely have a chance playing
in the PAC-12 FCG, especially after Arizona State lost to UA tonight.
Regardless, it has been an amazing season. BYU fans are really bitter and
annoying, go away or get on Pac-12 level. Great day of college
niners"There are very few BYU fans on the Utah board tonight,

Frankenberry, I wasn't trying to call out your fan-ness, just hoping you'd
expound a bit. And you did. I see your point.
So Utah loses to USC by a missed field goal in the Coliseum. Oregon loses to
USC the exact same way at Autzen stadium tonight, and yet everyone thinks Utah
is so inferior to Oregon...I don't get it...
@SoonerUte: Nice to see even after a mighty pac win, you STILL hearken back to
the BYU game to get your jollies. Thought ya'll were way past the whole BYU
Arizona State just lost again. Utah is 4-4 in conference, ASU is 4-4, and UCLA
is 5-3. UCLA will lose to USC next week. Utah has to show up and play hard, but
a so called likely win, puts Utah and UCLA at 5-4 each after next week
(speculation). Utah has the head to head tie breaker against UCLA. If the skidding out of control Sun Devils lose to California, then Utah earns
the right to play for the PAC 12 championship under the scenario put forth
above. Facing Oregon for the title would be a major hurdle to the
Rose Bowl, but we the Ute nation will take it. Big opportunities is where Utah
and Coach Whittingham thrive. One more miracle week scenario left.
Then another at Oregon. And yet another in Pasadena. What's left is miracles.
Magic happens eh? Come on Cougars that is a little funny.
Mormon Ute, UCLA looks like the most likely Pac 12 South winner? Really? You
realize they play USC next week, right? Like THE USC? #18 about to move maybe
close to top 10 USC? No, it's pretty much down to whether or not ASU wants to
actually take control of their season against a good Cal team next week. And if
they don't, it's up to the Utes to win at home against 2-9 Colorado and go to
Autzen (or could it be Stanford with a Civil War upset?).
There was a big change in my feeling about the BYU--U rivalry tonight as I
switched channels back and forth between the Stanford-Cal and UA-ASU games. I
was interested in those outcomes, particularly the UA win because of what it
means to Utah, but also in watching Cal to see if there is a chance they can
beat ASU next week to complete ASU's total implosion. BYU's games mean nothing
whatsoever. My immediate neighbors are alumni of UCLA, USC, Stanford, and
Colorado. It was a great day talking PAC-12 football on the street.
@niners 11:48You said, "There are very few BYU fans on the Utah
board tonight, thats unusual..."It's because our game started
so late this evening. A lot of the Cougar fans, especially those who live in
Salt Lake and Davis County, are still driving home. True, beating up on New
Mexico State in freezing cold LES isn't exactly what I call the funnest way to
spend a Saturday night, but the true blue Cougar fans will stick with their team
regardless. As a Cougar fan I say, Well Done Utes! Your team has
definitely risen from the ashes and I'll be interested to see how things play
out next week.If ASU and UCLA both lose next week, and you guys beat
Colorado, all of which are strong possibilities, you WILL face Oregon for the
PAC 12 title. And even if you don't get into the the title game, you should
still end up in a quality bowl game like the Holiday Bowl. It would
be easy for me to say, "Oregon will cream the Utes," but given Utah's
past history against big named teams, I'm not going to underestimate them this
@ Mormon Ute. UCLA has no chance their last game is USC consider them
obliterated. If we Beat CO, Cal Beats AZ ST & USC wipes UCLA out we will be
tied with UCLA in the PAC but since we beat UCLA we will be the contender for
And the ticklefest continues by beating another cupcake.
Okay, I made my earlier comment before I saw the results of the USC/Oregon game.
With ASU playing so poorly and USC playing so well there is a very real
possibility ASU and UCLA will lose next week putting the Utes in the Pac 12
title game with a win over Colorado. Can U believe it!?!?!?Go
Congratulations to the Utes!
It was a nice win for the Utes. I would expect them to blow out Colorado next
week too. I just wonder how Utah got taken to OT by a team that is 4-7 (one of
the those losses coming from blowout loss to San Diego State.) The PAC 12 has
got to be one of the most inconsistent conferences in the country. At this
point, I wouldn't be surprised to see Utah in the PAC 12 title game.
Whoa Whoa Whoa fans who are smelling roses. I am as big of a Ute fan as there
is, but IF we get to the PAC-12 championship game do you really think we have a
chance against Oregon? I think we could score 10 points against them, and maybe
"hold" them to 38 or 45.
ahmyers"I'll take victories against Arizona, UCLA, and
Washington State over victories against San Jose State, Idaho, and New Mexico
State any time".And that just helped some up the mentality it
takes to be a ute fan. Those teams are as bad right now if not worse than those
teams mentioned adn so many others in "bcs conferences", but ute fan
thinks just becasue they are in a "bcs conference" they are good,
really people think before you type. lolSoon the bcs will be gone,
then what ute fan? Welcome back to reality.
Cougars - Wise Older Brothers,Congratulations little brothers on
your coptor bowl. We'll take pictures for you at the PAC championship game.Oh by the way, could you remind me which school district is New Mexico
St. in again?
I can't believe that ASU lost to AU! Cal played Stanford to within 3 points on
their field too. Getting interesting for sure. I will sure be watching that ASU
vs Cal game on Friday.Utah in the PAC 12 Champ game? It CAN happen.
Utah's D just might be the ticket to slowing down the Ducks too. Ducks and Utes on Dec 2nd!Go Utes and Cal!
@ Cougars- wise little brothers"lol at the delusional Utah fan
spin; why would BYU fans be wasting their time on a Utah blog DURING a BYU
game?"I have no idea honestly! You tell me why BYU fans are on
a Utah blog during a BYU game every single week...
Portland Trail Blazers,Serious? Well, if you're going off strength
of schedule, Utah is the best team in the state. And if you're going
off of the head to head matchup, then BYU is 44 points inferior to the best team
in the state.
@Cougars wise little brothers"BYU handled their opponent

BYUI am sure you do not understand analogies, so just look it up on
google and it will show you what I mean...
If ASU, UCLA and the U all tie at 5-4 ASU holds the tiebreaker because it beat
the team with the best record (USC) and would go to the championship game,
that's why ASU has to lose out for UCLA or the U to have any chance to go to the
UCLA actually controls destiny in PAC-12 south, they beat USC, they go to the
championship game.U goes if it wins, ASU and UCLA both lose.ASU goes if it wins and UCLA loses as it owns tiebreakers because of win
over USC and all three teams would be 5-4.That's how I understand
the tiebreakers and possible scenarios.
sammyg, yes Ticklefest Provo '11 continues. Meanwhile, in Pullman, the Utes
survive a gut check to win their 4th straight conference game.
sammyg,Funny you should mention that, being a BYU fan and all.Remind me, which school district is New Mexico St. in again?
bballjunkie"really people think before you type. lol"Funny you should say that... BYU is the most overhyped team in the

@ worf | 8:10 p.m. Nov. 19, 2011 If you paid attention, the graphic
displayed late in the game showed the Utes D ranked 1st in several categories
including scoring D.
@ Portland Trail Blazers | 12:18 a.m. Nov. 20, 2011 I have 64... I
mean 54 & 10 reasons that say you are up in the night.
Are BYU fans really saying that teams like Idaho, Idaho State, New Mexico State,
and San Jose State compare to UCLA, WSU, Arizona, and Oregon State?I
mean, is that really the argument? That, in terms of atheletic ability,
coaching, all-around quality, etc., etc., the teams on BYU's independent
schedule are the same caliber as PAC 12 teams, especially BYU's November slate?
Wow! Shocking! Who else in the college football world would believe
this?Give Tom Holmoe lots of credit for doing the best he could in
the first year of independence to put together a schedule with twelve games that
met BYU's needs in terms of home and away, etc. Give BYU lots of
credit for beating the teams it should beat.Give the Utes lots of
credit for their first year perfomance in their new conference, especially
considering all the injuries they have had.Give everybody lots of
credit, except those who think playing against Idaho State is the same as
playing against Washington State, or that playing Idaho is the same as playing
The anxiety next week will be agonizing! We'll likely be up until near midnight
Friday seeing how the ASU@Cal game plays out. And if ASU loses, it will be
nearly the same situation Saturday at the Coliseum. First things first, give
Colorado its blackest Black Friday in recent memory!
I listened on 700 for a while, then had to turn if off - I couldn't take the
announcer who said WSU's field goal was a "victory for the Utah
defense" but Utah's a few minutes later was a "great 3 points for the
offense." Double-speak, those Ute announcers haven't got a clue about
being the least bit objective on ANY play.So the Ute's
won---congratulations. They have such a popular program that 1ess than 17,000
fans watched the game in person. Meanwhile, at the true program in the State,
over 50,000 fans braved the cold and late, late start to see a 42 - 7 victory.
Sure, NMS isn't a "PAC 10.2" team, but WSU isn't anything to brag
about beating, either. Enjoy the Vegas Bowl, Utes. LOL!!!!Kyle
thinks the Utes have done great things to get a 4 - 4 record against a weakened
conference. LOL!!!Since you've already decided that you have
defeated Colorado, don't bother preparing for them. Your new rivals (CO) just
might be up to it and if not, you can always become rivals with WSU; you know,
they're COUGARS too!Rose Bowl, anyone.....(except Utah of course)??

going off facts and stats, then lets face it, BYU is the best team in teh

smartiepants, you are a riot. Yep, you figured it out, it's because the UTES are
so bad that eastern Washington residents couldn't be paid to go to a game at
Martin Stadium. Meanwhile, 50,000 fans braved the cold (but not as cold as
Pullman) to watch the only kind of competition that any Cougars not from
Washington or Houston can win against. Hey at least you can say the Cougars are
a top ten team... just not BYU.

in a tailspin and USC should beat UCLA.
@toosmartfor[yourself]Currently Utah at 7-5 is the #4 team in the
PAC-12 overall. So yes Utah has been great after starting 3-4.Yes,
with our defense @RES a win over Colorado is a given.Colorado is no better
than New Mexico State and I had BYU by 30+ over NMS.Um, back to
staid um size and TV exposure smack? Congrats! That's the only thing you have
on Utah. On the filed, you lose 7 of 10.Go UTES!! 8-4 and a Sun
Bowl is strong possibility.
@nottoosmartThat post was so bitter it was awkward.Your
"true program" lost to the program you're truly jealous of by 44
As a BYU fan, I enjoyed watching a real football game, unlike watching BYU v.
New Mexico State.
Here's my predictions for next weeks PAC-12 finally...Utah by 20
over Colorado.USC by 20 over UCLA.Can ASU lose 4
straight games?Yes, Cal is better than UCLA, WSU, and UofA.Cal
by 3 over ASU.Go Cal!!
Colorado and Arizona are arguably worse than any team that BYU has faced this
year. Utah has benefited by not playing Oregon or Stanford this year. Next
year the schedule for BYU gets much tougher, so make fun of the last minute
opponents from the WAC this year while you can.BYU did the best with
scheduling that they could given the short amount of time they had to get things
together. The road also get much tougher at the U too. Who would have thought
that the Sun bowl would be a "step up" from the Vegas bowl...go
Umm yeah the Sun Bowl is always a step up from Vegas (except for the players, LV
is a much cooler place for spending bowl season than El Paso), as it pays better
and traditionally has better competition. However, the Sun Bowl now looks like
it could be our worst-case scenario for destinations. Vegas is pretty much out.
I am a huge BYU fan, but Utah's football program is currently better than BYU's.
I guess I am a bit tired of all the "talk" some BYU fans and media are
willing to do to pump up BYU football.BYU football is very average
right now. I think if roles were reversed, every BYU fan in the nation would be
saying what a great comeback season they are having. The BYU community needs to
"get real" and quit making excuses. Our football team is maybe a top
50 right now, and I think that is fair.I give props to the Utes for
making a run at a Pac-10 C-ship game after losing their starting QB. Their
defense is championship caliber as is their special teams. Their running game is
good enough and probably could be a lot better if they had a better passing
attack. As far as BYU is concerned, hey we lost to Texas by 1, to
TCU by 10 and to Utah by 44. The BYU offense is stagnant and without
misdirection when given our talent level, misdirection should be an absolute.
Doman needs more time, just like Heaps.
Pavalova is entitled to his opinion. I respect it. My opinion is
that anyone who thinks Arizona is "worse" than Idaho State (lost
Montana State 54-13, Eastern Washington 45-14 and Washington State 64-21) either
lives in Pocatello or is a BYU fan. But, hey, that's just me.I said
above I believe Tom Holmoe did the best he could with what he had to work with.
And, props to BYU for taking care of business and beating teams it should. The surprising thing is how some BYU fans can so adamant about their
views as to believe things that are...shall we say (generously)...so silly?
@RaininTime 2:58As a fellow Cougar fan, I agree with you. Utah
started off poorly this year, but they've defintely picked themselves off the
ground and have roared back. And yes, they have had a much tougher schedule than
BYU, so they deserve more kudos, even from me. This is why I want
to see BYU get into a conference again. Let's face is, this whole Independence
thing hasn't been all that exciting. Sure, our team is 8-3 and going to a bowl
game, but it's been a lackluster season at best. People may call the
Big East the "Big Least" but in my opinion, it will still be better
than these silly games against Idaho and New Mexico State.
Pavalova"Utah has benefited by not playing Oregon or Stanford
this year"You are forgetting something important. The Utes
lost to two teams from the north as part of their four losses. If Utah would
have played both Stanford and Oregon (in exchange for Washington and Cal) and
lost to them, they would have two losses to northern teams, out of four
losses. So we would most likely be in the same spot. Had we beaten
UW or Cal, then you're argument would be more debatable.
Better that Utah is in a big boy BCS Conference building for the future than
settling for mediocrity while getting fat on WAC teams that are barely college
football teams and being satisfied with it. I'd hate to live the delusional
life of a BYU fan.
Wow! Is Washinton State even as good as New Mexico State or Idaho? Utah State
mey not think so.
worf,Wow! New Mexico State has a football team?
Y fans keep referring to the PAC 12 as the PAC 10.2?? What did Colorado and
Oregon State ever do to them?
@worf & PavalovaFor our still confused Cougar fans who are still
actually trying to compare not only Utah and BYU on the field, but their
schedules. A weekly update provided by Sagarin. Not opinions, just facts:Utah ranked #31, #29 Strength of ScheduleBYU ranked #47, #95

this year. Worst opponents - Utah - #88 MSU, #114 ColoradoBYU - #94 Hawaii, #99 SJSU, #106 Ole Miss, #123 NMSU, #135 Idaho, #207 ISUBYU plays 6 teams ranked #90 or higher, Utah plays 1."Colorado and Arizona are arguably worse than any team that BYU has faced
this year."Again, always nice to have some facts to back up
your bold claims. Arizona is ranked higher in the computers than ANYONE BYU has
beaten, all year. Colorado would be the 4th worst team on BYU's schedule, they
are easily Utah's easiest.Not to mention 54-10.

@worfComputer poll based on nothing but numbers and facts,Or the Coaches Poll, based on the SID filling out the poll for his/her
coach.Question. What do you call a team who losses to a Mid to
lower tier Pac team at home by 44 points? Not even good enough to
be a mid to lower tier BCS team.
