SF 35 HH 21
Let's get em tigers!
Hurricane 35 SF 14
SF 42 Hurricane 21: talent for talent...and, pound for pound--SF Dons will
wear the Crown. Saddle UP, Dons...and RIDE da "Canes
Ok, let's put this in perspective. Spanish fork got demolished by Delta 35 to
14. Cedar easily beat Delta. Hurricane admittedly had a little trouble beating
Cedar, but nothing really serious and beat them by 9. That should tell you who
the better team is. Now Hurricane needs to come out and play like they are
capable and we should be playing for the Championship..
No doubt that SF's got major "home" advantage over remaining so. teams
(huge factor)...not to mention rough travel drivin up; and the consensus is that
the 3A championship will be played this Thurs. between SF and Hurricane...and,
I'm predicting an SF victory. No disrespect to DH and esp. Cedar...but, it is
what it is...and, it's no longer bout the past and it's all about the NOW...Go
Dons!!! AND, GET YOUR CROWN!!!!
Hurricane has been to three straight finals, so I don't think the travel will
bother them. It didn't when the Tigers beat Skyline 33-14 in week one. Expect a
good game, but I favor the ball control & physicality of the Tigers.
Besides, this could be a game where the Tigers starting line-up gets to play the
whole game. HHS 42 SFHS 21
Don's haven't been to the BIG show in years, due to Hurricane and Juan Diego
hogging it for the past 3 straight years, the Don's are a good team who should
of lost to Juan Diego, but they didn't, Hurricane with the power of Scott and
the speed of Thompson and the toughness of Parker with the mentally sound with
Prince, I'm just saying good luck Don's on even coming close. Hurricane 42-Don's 21
The High School Activities Association needs to wake up and smell the roses when
deciding where the semi-finals for 3A and other lower population schools play
their post-season games. Why are Cedar, Hurricane and Desert Hills required to
travel to Salt Lake City when they could be playing in Cedar City at SUU or in
St. George at Dixie? I know those decisions are made early and contracted with
the U. but where is the logic in this format? A lot of unnecessary expense for
schools and patrons could be avoided if the UHSAA would THINK before they flex
their muscle; they're too much like the NCAA/BCS and NBA hierarchy. They would
make more money at the gate if they were played locally. Get a life!
nothing against SF, I like Hurricane, they are hungry, so close for so long... I
think they win it all, go Hurricane!
just keep hating on us dons just keep hating it motivates us hurricane has never
beat juan diego and we have so if that doesnt earn us our respect then we will
go get on thursday!!! Don pride!!!!
Faifeau,The Cedar/DH semi IS at Dixie State. However, the UHSAA has
announced already that, regardless who the participants are, the finals will be
at RES. HAMOBULL,Including semifinals, Hurricane has made 6
trips in the past 3 years to RES. I don't think I'd consider that unfamiliar
no offense but we did something hurricane has never done beat Juan Diego..
USO684No offense but we did something you will never do against
Hurricane...lead at halftime.
@USO684,And when we beat you, we'll have done something you've never
done. Four consecutive Final appearances.
Calm down Dons. No disrespect to you or your team for your game against Juan
Diego, and don't worry.....our Tiger team is taking you very seriously. One
step at a time. Go get 'em TIGERS!!! We're behind you all the way!
If the Tigers can stop the running game of Christian Taele and the strong arm of
(byu baseball commit) Hayden Nelson they can pull an upset. I think Spanish Fork
not only is bigger on defense but has more to play for, considering this is our
first appearence in the semifinals since 1995. GO DONS BRING HOME A STATE
CHAMPIONSHIP TO SPANISH FORK. WE NEED ONE.
Juan Diego is a different team every year!!!! Props on beating them this
year....tomorrow will answer all our questions! Go tigers!
SF is a good team, that being said they have struggled to stop running teams
this year (Delta). Hurricane is one of the best running teams in the state just
ask Skyline and West Jordan let alone all the 3A teams who faced Hurricane. SF
will have to out score Hurricane to beat them and I don't see that happening.
In talking to some Hurricane football players, none of them really cared that
Juan Diego lost, it doesn't mean that much to the Tiger Football Players but we
as a community want to beat them. Good Luck Tigers and may the best team
@Ute Fan"If the Tigers can stop the running game of Christian
Taele and the strong arm of (byu baseball commit) Hayden Nelson they can pull an
upset."You need to remember that SF isn't the favored team here
so that wouldn't be an upset. Hurricane is taking SF seriously trust me, but SF
would be the one pulling an upset if they can contain Hurricane's high powered
oh man looks to be a great game. I'm so excited to see how eachothers team will
stack up. i hear about the passing game that the dons posess it'll be fun to
watch yardley and parker on defense. how is the dons defense though? great
stuff. only time will tell.pero,@Ute Fan In Utah County:
as for the dons having more to play for i have to disagree, i think the tigers
will want it more having been so close for so many years in a row. this may be
the year hurriacane or any team from the south finally wins the big one.good luck ya'll
@USO684, The Dons haven't done anything that Hurricane has or hasn't done. This
years Hurricane team hasn't lost to this year's Juan Diego team and this year's
Juan Diego team has never beaten this year's Hurricane team. Chances are you
would've been schooled by JD in all of the past 3 years as well but who can say,
you never played. With that being said, good luck against Hurricane this week.
Tigers all the way!!!
Would really like to see Hurricane win this year they are due. Nothing against
SF. I will be at the game and hope both teams play well.
@sher khan: pure speculation re: SF bein' schooled by JD in past 3 years btw,
in past 3 years...how many D1 graduates did SF produce vs. JD and Tigers
combined? Point is...SF of last 3 years would've schooled both JD and Tigers
combined of last 3 years!...and, that's simply the facts. Go DONS...bring home
the CROWN...and that's not speculatation or wishful thinking...it's a FACT!!!
Hurricane 28 Spanish Fork 21. It will be a good one but I think it's finally
Hurricane's year. That Scott kid is a beast!
sher khan ummm i guess we will just have to wait see tomorrow... DON PRIDE!!!!
@ hamobull. a fact is something you can prove.. and thats a fact.
WEll i want to give SF credit for beating Juan Diego. But its hard to Compare
this years juan diego teams to any in the past. And if you really want to
compare teams, well lets see Juan Diego got spanked by Skyline, Hurricane
spanked Skyline. So on that Hurricane should have beat juan diego. Delta spanked
Sf, Delta got spanked by Cedar, hurricane beat Cedar, So if you want to compare
teams on that hurricane should beat SF. Oh and don;t say you dominated Juan
Diego, cause if i remember juan deigo was on the seven bout to score. And a
fumbled stopped that, so you got a victory on a fumble. Don;t say you went in
and dominated them. Just saying the truth. GO TIGERS!!!!
@woodness: the proof is in the pudding (or as we say here in Hawaii...in the
poi). It is what it is... @ juan valdez: JD lost...and chocked in the 2nd
half...and, couldve shouldve dont win games. The truth is...the heavily favored
JD got beat on their own hmoe turf last week. JD...come and join the Dons as we
don the crown this year!!!
I know that the Hurricane players are only looking at this game. Stopping the
passing attack of SF with be priority #1 for this week. Despite what the
bloggers say on these forums, it is going to be a great game. It is good to
know that no one who posts will be on the field come Thursday. Only the
athletes will decide the outcome. I think it is ironic that there
was a Matt Christensen playing for Hurricane during the years '91 to '93. Not
the same person, though. He is a vice-principal in Davis district.
The win over JD was huge for the Dons, but the road to the semi-finals was much
tougher in Region 9 than in Region 12 three of the four teams still standing
shows that. With the exception of CV, Region 9 was brutal this year. Hurricane's
undefeated season is even more impressive when you look at their opponents. The
only team to team to keep the Tigers under 30 points and lose by a single-digit
number was Cedar. HHS is the real deal.
Stats show that other than the one that counts (the scoreboard) Cedar beat
Hurricane. Also, if I remember correctly, Hurricane did not go ahead until
about four minutes left in the game. So if they meet in the finals it will be a
real dog fight. Don't you love high school football!!
My prediction in the State Finals Cedar and Hurricane. It's just a guess. And my
guess would be Cedar 35 Hurricane 28
juan val dez i win is a win
in the end of the day all your playoff appearences and your half time lead dont
mean anything we still beat juan diego so yeah thats all i gotta say no offence
All you Hurricane fans better not get your hopes up. If you think you're going
to easily win this game, think again because we aren't going to be the ones
turning in our pads next week. You guys get to watch us win the state
championship! DON PRIDE!
I think it is funny that the writer spelled 'Dessert Hills" with an extra
's'. It kind of makes their school sound a whole lot more tasty. Desert Hills
just sounds so dry!
SF All The Way--I'll bet anything that YOU won't be on the field to back that
up. There are no illusions about it being an easy game--just a great one!
I doubt any Hurricane FANS will be turning pads in anytime soon. To reach the
championship and win your crown you must not just beat Hurricane but beat either
Cedar or Desert Hills. I would not go out and get fitted for your crowns just
@Ute Fan in Utah CountyNot sure you have seen Hurricane. You think
SF is bigger on defense? I don't think that is the case. Either way, that SF
defense got shredded by Delta (who is not big at all). Big is nice...but big
& fast is better.
Some of the SF fans on here seem to have a inferiority complex. First they get
knocked down to 3A, making them one of the biggest schools in 3A, then they have
to talk trash to convince themselves they can win. It will certainly be a good
game as many in the playoff are but if the SF players think like these posters
they will be in for a long night!
@kmh: relax and dont get offended. it's all for fun, here. And, i still
believe the Dons will take care of business tomorrow...and, bring home the CROWN
next weekend. It'll be close game, tomorrow...but, we all know WHO has the
experience in dealing w/ extreme pressure under tight games...and, who has zero
experience. GO DONS!!!
I can't help but think Hurricane's tougher schedule this year has really
benefited them. Skyline, WJ, Dixie, DH, SC, PV and Cedar all through things at
Hurricane that they will see tomorrow. I think it will be close for the first
half and then Scott will wear the Don's down.Hurricane 35-14.
It will be a game of points so don't miss it. The team with the most points at
the end of the game wins lol. good luck, both teams are good and stacked, and
hope nobody gets injured. The next two games for who ever wins will have their
hands full with Cedar.
@HAMOBull: what "close games" are you talking about? close games in
the playoffs? or during the season? or rivals? please dont speak out of
ignorance..... learn the facts buddymr felts said something nice:
Hurricane has won 46 games from 2008-11, tied with Bingham and just three behind
Juan Diego's 49 for the most victories during those four seasons. it
should make for a great game eh. alma 5:28 pride....Much love, see
we have more 3A "comments" vs. all the other divisions. I suppose we
did our job in this here forum to blow-up this game, tomorrow evening...and, to
all the players--be safe and good luck to both the Dons and to the Tigers!!!
and the one thing that's 100% guaranteed as to who the winner between these two
combatants will be: it'll be a team from Utah!
Where is Hurricane anyway?
Tonight Hurricane is located at RES. They will give you a game you will never
forget. Go Coach Homer and The Tigers. This Redman is cheering you on. These
Dons act like they never heard of you. Make sure they never forget you.
Where its nice and warm all year long, until the wind blows from Spanish Fork.
@ Tex Ex from Cedar, come on,only thing that does matter was the scoreboard,
stats, whatever they didnt help them win the game. If that was the case and we
could say thats what mattered Hurricane would have 3 state championships. Cedar
is tough no doubt about it. but all the what if's have not brought us a
championship. These region 9 schools know what to expect from eachother they
have played eachother, the SF fan that said H will be turning in pads monday
well , we will all see tonight you might not know what hit you! I want to say
good luck to all region 9 schools and hope that we can all support eachother and
the showing that we are making right now in this run to the title!
@H-supporterI know H won, thats why I said the only stat that counts is on
the scoreboard. The point I was making is that Cedar can play with Hurricane
and that the final game will not be a blowout, but a real dog fight. I also
have to say that after watching the games from other regions the quality of
football in Region 9 is on a completely different level. And after watching H
for years and knowing how well disciplined a game you guys play, tonight should
be easy challenge for you. I'm rooting for you.Cedar vs Hurricane
How does anyone think Spanish Fork is better than Cedar and the H-SF game is the
real championship. Delta killed SF, Cedar killed Delta, and H snuck past Cedar.
The final will probably be moved to southern utah if hurricane wins. Too many
reasons not to move it down.
Looking forward to a great game tonight. All of the chest thumping on the blogs
means absolutely nothing. Hurricane is definitely a good team, otherwise they
wouldnt be in the semis. SF is on a roll right now. What happened earlier in
the season does not really mean a thing tonight. I hope both teams leave it all
on the field and no one gets hurt. This game will be well worth the price of
admission. With that said... DON PRIDE
i dont know, but in my book "snuck by" means a W.. anyway i look at
it.. but besides that, its almost 6 and we get to see these two teams fight it
out. ITS ABOUT TIME! let the games begin!!!
@hamobull, Looks like it didnt work out, despite all the
comparisons...when it comes down to it the playoffs are different than regular
season...looks like it didnt work out for ya....where ya at now??? why havent we
heard from you? Hurricane deserves your congratulations...crow pie is not so
tasty...ha ha. Eagle Fan cheering for the TIGERS....you deserve the
title...so go WIN IT!
