In any case, it is an acknowledgement that government has a role in the health
insurance crisis that we are experiencing. Get past the rhetoric, and we can
actually find ways to resolve the mess.
Lil's new medicaid plan is called "capitation," which means a doctor
is responsible for a certain number of medicaid patients and gets paid WHETHER
HE SEES THEM OR NOT. This is not reform. I'ts a worse system because the
physicians now have no incentive at all to see these patients.
The "feral cat" bill, by the time it passed the house, was a good
bill. No hanging or clubbing "fluffy" from next door. OK, the senate
didn't have the guts, pun intended, to pass the bill..2011 HB477 was
and is needed. It was repealed only because of a new committee with the media
and public formed that looked at the current law and ended up listing many
changes needed. No more obvious than now both the state democrat party and the
state GOP are using Grama like a football game on the tax payer dime. So perhaps
next time, the media can actually provide suggestions on how to fix a bill
instead of just trying to kill it with unfair press often written by their
lobbyists. Yes, Sen. Dan Lijenquist deserves the press. He has been
brilliant in solving something in Utah that is bankrupting the nation.
We still have 25% more state workers than we need.
Government Pension plans are a scam and a huge burden on taxpayers. People in
the private sector do not have such plush and generous benefits. Moreover,
benefits are insulated from loss, not tied into the market! It is as though the
market can only go up. I wish my plan were so constructed.
