This game is the statement game at this point of the season. If the Cougars win,
the rest of the season is about getting better. I f they lose, what will the
rest of the season mean?I am a big fan, I hope for victory. I am
very much liking their chances with the variable of Riley at QB. At this game
though, I see it as all or nothing.Go Cougs!
Bronco will talk about execution and all that fuzzy stuff after the game.
Reality will be that TCU has 50 "athletes" on the team, and byu has
maybe 5. "Athletes" 40byu 10If byu wins
this game I won't post on a byu article the rest of the year.I made
the same statement before the Utah game. Need a reminder how that went?
BYU will lose in another blowout. Utah will start winning because
they are playing the bottom half of the PAC. ESPN reports talks
between the Big East and Boise St and Air Force. Boise State is in contention
"because of the quality of their program". Wonder when that day will
come for BYU. Not with Bronco or Doman.
I seem to remember a similar statement made by Chris B in the past that he did
not live up to. Why should anyone believe him now?
Boise St. is in contention for the Big lEast because they add immediate
"legitimacy" for a conference that is barely treading water. And I just thought of another reason why many in the Big lEast would prefer
Boise St. over BYU. Do you really think east coast schools see Boise as a
recruiting threat? Absolutely not. But BYU? Any LDS kid (and some non-LDS
with strong Christian values) that the Big lEast schools have in there sights
might choose BYU over them. Don't know if that has really crossed anybody's
mind, but it could be a factor.
I what BYU to beat TCU more than about any other team on their schedule. If Nelson beats TCU Heaps will transfer or redshirt next year for sure.
Re: Chris B.How are your "athletes" doing in the
Any talk about BYU and Boise State and Air Force joining the Big East is simply
silly. If they did, then the Big East would have to change their name to the Big
West. Oh and I have high hopes for BYU to play very well in this
game against TCU. Their team is not as dominant as was last years. TCU has
played only 2 legitimate teams, so their averages in yards and points may be a
little skewed. I really think BYU will give them much more game than the past 3
years. Chris B. Where have you been? A little down in the mouth
since your team is doing so poorly? No, I do not believe your promises as you
consistently break them. You may go away as Chris B., but would certainly
incarnate yourself under some other name. Go Cougars.
Cougar Claws, That's an easy one, they are playing other athletes not
High School kids.
Unconventional equals memorable, memorable players oftentimes become legends.
Folks really, why do BYU fans respond to cb it is so boring and old. I know he has nothing else to do because sadly the Utes, well enough said. The title of this article is trying to say what ? That BYU needs to win
the game ? BYU needs to want to play football tonight ?
Unconventional I do not get these reporters, are they saying that BYU and the
Frogs will be a great game ? OK, that is stating the obvious, of course the game
will be exciting and I want Riley and the rest of the boy's to come away with a
win.So, lets roll Cougs !
Let's hope Heaps doesn't transfer. He will probably be really good next year
after he's learned his lessons. Don't give up on the sophomore just yet.
"Bronco and I have a great relationship. He and I both take football as
football and off the field is off the field," Patterson said. "I have
high respect for the job he does and the high commitment he has to BYU and to
his football team. For me, it's another ballgame. If you got to where you hated
everyone in the business every time you played them, after being in this
business for 30 years, you wouldn't have any friends."What a
great statement by Patterson. He is deserving of great respect from players,
fans and even opposing coaches.I can't help but think of what it was
like a few years ago here in Utah when the U of U's former head coach (I won't
mention his name) tried to foster all the animosity he could between the Utes
and the Cougars, their players, fans and coaches. All the best to
great coach and gentleman, Coach Patterson as well as Coach Whittingham and
I will be at the game and am expecting BYU to "rise up" and do better
than the last few years. Win or lose, the company and food are great down here
