I am nervously waiting for this game with ASU.This is the season for
Utah.A must win to stay in the race--and if they win, the rest of Pac-12
games will also be must-win.Good luck, Utes!
"Wynn hasn't been allowed to speak with the media since his
injury."But yet there will be trolls who will say it's because
he doesn't understand HIPAA. Seen it.Go Hays! Go Utes!
I'm excited to see what Hays can do and I'm happy to hear that Wynn is helping
him with the offense. It will take everyone's best effort to have a
chance against ASU they are a very good team with a lot of momentum right now.
Hopefully the Utes can take better care of the football and get the
turnover margin back in their favor. I'm sure Wittingham addressed all the
problems from last weeks game and I'm looking for the team to respond to the
This game means much more than just staying in the Division race. The doubters
are starting come out in droves saying we don't belong in the Pac 12. I know
Coach Witt always says they're all big games, but this one is more important for
so many reasons.Go Utes, let's show them we belong.
I still believe. The Utes have to believe as well. I am
not sure the schematic changes Washington made after halftime last week, but the
Utes looked demoralized and cringed. Was it the blow of Jordan's shoulder? Was
it dominating both sides of the ball (except turnovers and mistakes) and being
down 10-7 at halftime? Whatever it is, the Utes still have a lot to
play for. Their two conference losses are to USC (ineligible in the South), and
Washington (a non head to head factor in the north). Utah is 0-2 in
conference and ASU is 2-0. If the Utes lose and go 0-3, then ASU is not only 3-0
but has a tie breaker (head to head). That would put them up 4 games.HOWEVER, if Utah wins, they are 1-2 and ASU 2-1. This would be a three game
swing because Utah would only be down one game and gain the tie breaker.
Furthermore, after beating ASU, Utah has all other southern foes left on their
schedule. Again, USC is ineligible. So, if Utah beats ASU and all southern
opponents left, they have a great shot at the south.
Oregon and Stanford will beat other teams in the South as well. That could
really help Utah if they still believe in themselves. Don't quit
Utes. BYU quit in the second half of the Utah game. They stunk from
that point on until they began to believe with Riley Nelson. I don't think Riley
is their answer, but it shows that when a team plays with passion as a whole,
good things happen (not magic).ASU is a tough opponent, but their is
no need to over respect them. Utah is on par, they have just had some bad
breaks. Use Hays as a motivator, not an excuse.Utah has got good
breaks as well (avoiding Stanford and Oregon). Usc is also ineligible. So
despite the current record, the glass can still be half full. If on the fence,
fall to the right when it shakes eh Utes?
I meant USC, although Usc looks more fitting. USC stands for the
University of Spoiled Children.
Mormon ute your right. We need to get that 1st win. The longer we go without
getting one the louder the doubters will get and the more the pressure will
grow. We knew before the season started it was going to be tough and
that everyone was watching. Can they do it? Do they belong? They represent all
the little guys. We are fighting for a bigger purpose. We must show everyone
that we belong. A Utah man am I. GO UTES!!
