If Huckabee ends up endorsing Romney - and I think he will - it's further proof
that God answers prayers (even Huckabee's sometimes). LOL!
@KougerI'm curious why you think he will endorse him. Huckabee seemed to
have a genuine hatred of Romney in 2008. What has changed?
Oh I can hear Willard Mitt Romney speak on FOX, before it happens, He'll start
out saying I'm the next White Horse Prophecy, I mean the White Horse, darn it, I
meant the White House, no the next President, if elected, in our great Democracy
we have here. Then he'll be asked. Why is democracy rotten and corrupt?.
"Great nations rise and fall. The people go from bondage to spiritual
truth, to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance,
from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency
to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence back again to
bondage." Then he'll say, "Democracy doesn't work anywhere and
neither does the GOP". That's true. Where's the Koch Brother's jobs?.
Every single time there's an election I watch in disgust and abject amazement at
the sheer stupidity of the American public as they continue to reelect the same
old corrupt career crooks, over and over again as if they were actually helping
them instead of actively destroying the very country they live in. It's madness.
There's no rhyme or reason to their choices, and we all end up paying the price
for their decisions.
Bro Chuck:You are a visionary man - utterly amazing that you can
quote anyone prior to their speech. I will be voting for
Romney/Rubio. With your rhyme and reason, which corrupt career crook are you
fluwoebersread the article before asking questions
Huckabee is a great man----great sense of humor---plays the guitar--- jokes
about his own religion; doesn't take himself too seriously, makes friends with
a diverse group of people.
Politics gets ugly and viscious sometimes, I doubt that Huckabee had a personal
hatred towards Romney but sometimes politics gets dirty as we see with Perry and
Romney in this race.
I'd like to see Romney present Huckabee with a Book of Mormon and his family's
genealogy - on air.
@Tom in CA: everyone just skips Brother Chuck's posts. We keep asking for an
Ignore Button but the Dnews won't comply.Romney should bring along 2
missionaries so they can teach Huckabee the true gospel of Christ. He clearly
needs an education in the matters of the eternities.I wouldn't waste
my time on Huckabee's show. I've never watched it and won't even with Romney
on.I'd actually like to see a Cain/Rubio ticket.
January 2013 dream. Mitt Romney, President; Harry Reid, Senate MAJORITY Leader;
John Boehner, Speaker of the House. Gone - Eric Cantor and his Tea Party
obstructionists. That combination could get some government and the more Senate
Democrats the better. Who should be VP?
FDRfan,"get some government"? Maybe you could expound. Sorta
incoherent. Romney may have a history as a moderate but I think he
would surprise many with his conservative policies as pres. Gotta
disagree with Harry though. That guy is a disaster!
Newt Gingrich is now pushing his new contract with America but America needs a
refresher course on the Reagan Presidency. I liked President Reagan as a person
but lets be honest about his economics. Herein is the biggest difference between
Republican and Democratic philosophy. Ronald Reagan passed the Economic Recovery
Act which completely changed the depreciation charges for capital assets. It
created a tax shelter driven supply of commercial buildings for which there was
no demand. It was supply side economics which Bush 1 called voodoo economics.
The value for these properties consisted of about a third part tax shelter
benefits alone. It also unleashed the Vernon Dixons and Richard Keatings. In
1986 the steroids began to wear off and we had the Resolution Trust Corporation
conducting a fire sale of these unneeded real estate properties. Google it and
read for yourself. Democrats push for government spending on infrastructure and
investments in things that will benefit America. Republicans push for things
that will benefit the rich.
@FDRfanHere's what I know about Reagan: He inherited double digit
inflation and high unemployment as well as a powerful enemy. (we forget how
ruthless the communist bloc was.) By the end of his presidency, the economy was
doing very well, the stock market was trending way up, and the Soviet Union was
just about to crumble. All of those things benefited all Americans,
not just 'the rich.' If you have a 401k or a retirement account, you benefit
from Wall Street. If you have a job, you benefit from your 'rich' boss doing
well. Don't play the class warfare card. And please don't say that Obama
doesn't do things to benefit the rich. Please, FDRfan, go do some research
about how GE (whose CEO sits on Obama's economic council) paid noting in taxes
this year. We need a government who gets out of the way as much as
possible. The goal of every American and every leader should be a nation where
we are as independent of government as possible.
Desperate times call for desperate measures.Last time Huckabee
pulled out all stops to "draw a meaningful contrast" between him and
Willard.Meanwhile Willard is trying to erase the memory of the party
faithful slobering all over Chris Christie, at the Reagan Library, no less. What does Willard have to do to enable the rank and file, as well as the
donor class, as well as the king-makers on AM radio, as well as the good folks
on Fox News to believe he is the "one"?
@kougerThat's hilarious. I was thinking the exact same thing, but you beat
me to it.Mega ditto.
The Deseret News telling us every move Romney takes. Why don't you just get it
over with and say that this paper is intent on serving his interests? Maybe
even change the masthead.
"We need a government who gets out of the way as much as possible. The goal
of every American and every leader should be a nation where we are as
independent of government as possible."I don't like the current
presidency either - albeit, perhaps for different reasons than you. Mitt Romney
seems to see a benefit in government (us) working in a beneficial partnership
with business. He also seems to favor investment in infrastructure an other
areas. The type of government you seem to propose would be frightening to me. I
trust a democratically elected government more than I do businesses. I think you
are an honest person who would act responsibly with moral self restraint and
therefore see government as getting in your way. But (and I hope it doesn't mean
that I am the opposite) I have a more cynical view of people as they are. Even
good Mormons can rationalize a polar bear into a snowshoe bunny when it comes to
@Charles"Romney should bring along 2 missionaries so they can
teach Huckabee the true gospel of Christ. He clearly needs an education in the
matters of the eternities."So you're saying Hucakabee's
religion is false and yours is true? Seems like a wrong thing to say to me.
Mr. Huckabee never gets to real politics with Mitt Romney and I would picture
the same would happen with Jon Huntsman. For the whole primary process in 2008,
Huckabee used Mitt Romney's religion in every discussion and swayed and
persuaded 99 percent of those litening, looking or reading to turn that view to
the 1830 to 1896 times and beyond. Even Bill Bennett's conservative radio
program avoids any real discussion about Romney due to religion issues.
Religion will always be a negative aspect for Huckabee when talking with either
of these primary candidates. Huckabee wants to get everyone to think of their
preconceived thoughts and impressions about Romney's religion. Then any
political discussion isn't worth listening to and for naught. The
timing of this interview on conference weekend is also interesting and will make
some stir up.
If Huckabee supportes Romney it would mark a major leap forward in Huckabees
personal journey in life. The fact is, he has been a mean and nasty politican
despite his folksy sense of humor and his Christian proclamations. His feelings
toward Mitt Romney in the past have been a comination of extreme envy and
religious bigotry. If Huckabee has overcome those two personal problems, he
will gain a lot of respect back from me.Mitt is by far the best
qualified person to turn this mess around in this country. I hope he gets the
chance. I hope Mike Huckabee can overcome his personal problems.
It would be an epoch in his life.
I think mitt would be great and will get my vote, but I do want people to
understand that he will revert back to some of moderate views in the general
election. Mitt was very moderate in as a governor. I would like Ron Paul to be
the president because he would actually change things and try to downsize the
government as much as possible. I believe mitt will be good if not great but
won't end the war in Iraq as soon as he should. Our foreign policies and growing
government have bankrupted the country. If things don't change the united states
will fall. I used to think that could never happen but look throughout history
we wouldn't be the first great country to collapse and we won't be the last.
Huck will most likely force Mitt to remove his horns before coming on the set.
