What was the score again Mike?
I don't agree that Jordan Wynn played well. He kept bailing the pocket rather
than steping up a making some throws. Ultimately he was sacked several times for
big losses because he can't out run the USC linemen. He needs to toughen up and
play some football, otherwise it will be a long season. The article should be
about the Utah defense for playing outstanding football, otherwise this game
would have been a blowout.
If that was "cutting it loose", then Jordan is dillusional. His
mechanics are still poor (throwing side arm, lazy footwork, etc) which resulted
in numerous balls batted down at the line and off-target throws. He threw late
quite often. He was better than last week, but still cost the Utes the game.
Please hit Dres Anderson in stride just once.... please.
Oh please...Wynn was terrible. He completed some passes, sure, but he was
floating wounded ducks out there. It's time for Utah fans to realize
that our QB quite simply isn't going to live up to the hype. Our friends in
Utah County should probably realize the same.
I would give Wynn a B-, playing against a defense as good as USC's without being
able to run the ball isn't easy. Some people want to blame Wynn for the loss,
but our passing game was far better than our running game last night and Wynn
didn't have any turnovers. The bottom line is that Wynn made some big plays and
he was able to set up Utah for a game tying FG.The difference of the
game was Marc Tyler, he showed why he was the top RB recruit in the nation in
To Wilde and RBN .. Could not agree more. Wynn has no pocket presence, no
composure and a dreadful throwing motion. All completions were the results of
diving or leaping catches by his receiving corps. This doesn't bode well for a
I would like to see film of Wynn throwing before the injury because I sure don't
remember him delivering the ball the way he is now. He is short-arming
everything and throwing sidearm which makes him the equivalent of about a
5'-10" QB. With this abnormal release he has no zip on the ball and very
little accuracy and balls are hanging in the air forever. Several of his passes
were fluttering thru the air like dying quail. He is still not right, that is
obvious, whether it is physical or mental he is still not right. I was bouncing
back and forth between games on TV last night and the difference between his
throws and other QB's was night and day. The last drive was a perfect
illustration when he missed a couple of wide open receivers when he delivered
the ball sidearm - he should have been rifling those balls in but wasn't able
to. Pre-injury Wynn wins the game on that drive. He definitely played and threw
the ball better than last week but nowhere near what he was doing pre-injury.
Sure hope he gets it worked out soon.
Is correct he was better than last week...He went from abysmal to
poor. His throwing mechanics were still horrible. I can't recall the
last time I watched 4 balls batted down in a single game let alone by the same
QB.The reason he improved is because we have some play making WRs.
Christoper, Dres, and Dunn are play makers. Wynn is not. So many times he
missed wide open receivers.
