I thought BYU has a "haircut" rule on Campus, what's with the long
hair slicked back with Riley Nelson. Sinners!
Rise and Shout Cougars! Football is upon us. Beat Ole Miss
@Honor Code 12:39 AMReally? Wow....
@Honor CodeDude...even during the sixties when there really was a
strict policy Riley's hair would have still been ok... You must have grown up in
the 40's when everyone had GI haircuts and head lice were a real pest...so buzz
cuts were the rule not the exception. Get out of the house once in a while...
and find something actually meaninfully substantial to post...it's 2011 not the
dark ages of the Spanish Inquistion.
Really looking forward to today's game with ole Miss...and wishing the team
well. Been reading a few of Bronco's references to the Honor code over the past
year...and piecing together what it truly means in light of all that has been
going wrong in the direction that the game is going these days at other
Universities and the attitudes of some of thier players, administrators, coaches
and fans. Not all... but unfortunately a growing number who are disappointedly
willing... or choosing to compromise on core values. I think that he has
covered some really good points and I know that he has done a great deal to
instill in the players of this very young... but very promising team... the
essential quest to maintain these values at all costs...and to never compromise.
To paraphrase Bronco's thoughts and roll them into one statement
would not be all that hard...for the honor code itself isn't really that
hard. From one of his more recent talks:Today is your
defining moment...Never forget Who You Are...or what you stand for...Rise Up...No Compromise...there is no other way...Return with
Honor...and never forget those you represent.
I attended a game in Notre Dame's "hostile environment" sporting full
BYU regalia. ND fans were very gracious hosts. I'm looking forward to
returning for BYU's future games there!
Honor Code: You need a hobby.
BYU, the "storied" football program begins a life alone! Go
As a rule, Sinners call sinners, sinners. Our Savior has long hair and I am sure
Riley follows his example as best he can.
D NewsWhat's the weather forcast for Game time with T.S. Lee in the
area and possibly coming to town???
honor co ed:that's long hair? this is an article about football. try the
fashion section for your daily read.
Can u do a little research before u post meaningless comments about the honor
code. U waste our time and discredit urself. Do u really think there is
something wrong with slicked back hair? Check out the pictures our church
leaders. Can u see Nelson's ears, collar and eyes? If the answer is yes, the
haircut's approved. This is not the military academy. We just don't think a
Wynning haircut is suppose to look like a girl.Do any of u want to
bet whether or not Heaps will eclipse Wynn's 101 passing yards against a much
better defense than Wynn faced? If Coach Chow thinks Wynn reminds
him of Detmer, I think he's getting a little forgetful in his old age of how
good Detmer was. I hope Chow is watching the Cougs today. Heaps will give him
a much better picture of a QB who looks like Detmer.I can't wait to
watch the Cougs on the national stage, instead of listening to them on a local
SO excited! GO COUGARS!!
I would just like to wish Ole Miss, my new favorite team this week, good luck
and congratulate them on their massive victory today. Go Ole Miss! Go Rebels!
That photo of the three quarterbacks gives me the eebie jeebies.
Enough of the fancy pictures and talk. Show us what's different on the field
today. This is BYU's last chance to show BCS leagues that they should be
included.OU will go to the Pac 12 (crystal ball says so, along with ESPN),
as will Texas. The Big 12 is toast. They signed their own death warrant last
year by sitting on their hands, although I think the big boys wanted it to die.
Scheduling is going to be a beast now - mid season schedule full of WAC and MWC
crap. But, if we can't beat a bad SEC team, that's where this team belongs.
Not pessimistic, just realistic. This is supposed to be the best BYU team
in 15 years - prove it.
Watching TCU lose last night makes one realise that first games can be
unpredictable, I fully expect BYU to win and win comfortably but you never know
until the game is played. I know Ole Miss will be determined to prove last yr
was a fluke, they have great athletes but BYU has great athletes too and I see
the cougs winning this one. If we play like I think we can we win 35(or more) to
14, if the defense struggles some it could be closer, 28 to 24. Either way I see
BYU pulling this one out. TCU's game last night shows us why you play the game
though. Should be exciting. Go cougs.
@mgrSo does Wynnie the Do's... return to the 60's look. Must be research
in time travel the lastest fad now...on the Reservation.
No Measuring Sticks Bronc! Just a "W"
I orginally posted this to an old story so I'm reposting here: BYU
should win this one easily. Ole Miss is ranked at the bottom of the SEC by the
sports press who cover that conference (even below lowly Vanderbilt and Kentucky
in the SEC-East). BYU has a stellar offensive line this year and our front seven
on defense should be able to contain the Ole Miss running game despite the size
of their OL. If Mississippi could mount a credible pass attack I'd be worried.
They can't and I'm not. BYU by 21. Regarding Nelson's hair:
Whenever my hair gets that long my wife makes me read 1 Corinthians 11:14.
A BYU win coupled with a Boise State loss today means that the baton will be
passed, so the Cougars better not drop it! BCS, here we come! (Trolls' hearts
skip a beat.)
As reported today nationally, Oklahoma is looking for greener pastures. Dominoes
@WhatsinitformeIf Oklahoma, Ok State and Texas go to the PAC Utah and
Colorado will become extinct in College Sports geological time...they'll be so
low on the sedimentory level that they'll have to case drill just to find any
traces of them ever existing in the PAC
ole miss 30 Byu 17. Thanks ole miss
BYU 17Mississippi 27
sissy blet them play the game. mark it down
I wonder if the author of the article is a BYU fan.... seemed kind of
one-sided.Oh well, good luck in SEC country today, you'll need it!
You might take a look at the USU game with Auburn. Maybe the SEC isn't all its
cracked up to be. On the other hand maybe USU is turning into a beast. Forget
about the SEC, BIG 12 and PAC-12, prepare for the Aggies.
Watching all the trouble Utah State is giving Auburn confirms my belief that BYU
rolls over Ole Miss today. We are much better than Utah State and Mississippi
is much worse than Auburn. BYU by at least 21. So much for the mighty SEC.
DC: Why are you being negative and sounding like BYU has already lost even
before the game has begun? Are you a BYU fan, or not? You sound like you are
frightened and your comments make it seem like you are already scolding the team
for losing before they even play the game.
HAHAHA! BYU is going to lose.........no heart, just hype and words. Go rebels!
Utah St. beat the BYU squad bad last year. It was a joke! BYU will lose, and it
will be an "ugly" game. Go Rebels!!!!!!!
What a funny picture for the title. They look tough. Everyone should
fear BYU....haha I almost typed that without laughing!
This is not "Historic". It's another game to start another
Thanks ole miss for putting Byu in their place.
sissy b:medium well on the crow? are you ever right/
@ Where's Stockton ??? - 10:34 a.m. Sept. 3,I know someone who
drills for a living, so I really got a kick out of your comment. Very clever,
very funny!P.S. I like reading your posts, but sometimes have a
difficult time because you always seem to post in one BIG paragraph. Very hard
to read. Is your input method limited? If not, please do us all a favor and
break up your one big paragraph into several smaller ones.Hey! BYU
squeeked by, 14-13. Who'da guessed?
