Good heavens, a Krauthammer article with which I agree!
Krauthammer actually found a clue. Who would have ever thought that would
happen. I am amazed.
So now Krauthammer, the sour voice of conservative politics in America so
convinced until recently that King was a commie subversive, decides to emit a
little praise for the man. Sorry, Chuck, but you're WAY too late to this party.
You're not fooling me.
Thanks Mr. Krauthammer for the excellent article. My concern is this,
"This was largely the work of one man's leadership, moral imagination and
strategic genius." Having lived through that era, it was definitely not
the work of one man or just his leadership, moral imagination or strategic
genius. Monuments are great, but their were many just as important if not more
so to the civil rights movement as Mr. King. He should be honored, but we
should not let such honoring give sway to such thinking as the quote suggests.
"Monuments are great, but their were many just as important if not more so
to the civil rights movement as Mr. King."@Hellooo - Could you
give us some of the many examples which you speak of?
It looks like a statue of Mao. Should have been done by an American sculpture.
Good article. This must be the one the one non-spin of the year, or hopefully an
objective trend. Note: The artist may possibly be a communist, but so is the
leadership of the country that will soon be the number one economic market in
the world. The world has changed from the 1950's. Time to come up with a new
derogatory catch phrase for everything non conservative.
Kruthrnhummer actually called King a prophet, wow. It sounded like he was
praising King but it was hard to tell amonst all the critisism of the cmmunist
chineese stone carver that has also carved Mao and choice of King quotes not
being "american" enough. That's as close has he gets to
unbiased. I'm still amazed at the conservative love of King now. I live in
Arizona, I rememeber the right wing backlash against Martin Luther King Day. The
tea-party of the 80's was enraged the federal government was trying to tell them
when to have a holiday. I'll call it progress.
