Whoa! Ethel Sorensen, huh? One of my teachers had her as his aide when I still lived in Spanish Fork and was in elementary school there! The teacher (and a great one he was) was Chris Roberts. Huhh! I wonder if my parents had ever told me about her and Horace's having been the people who own/owned the land where Pioneer Village used to be. Hmm!

So see, I was very young when Pioneer Village got moved to Lagoon. So young, in fact, that I can't really remember a time when PV wasn't there. I don't see in this article a mention of the year that it got moved, but the Temple Square tour guide implies that it was at least 1978 (the year my little sister was born). I was just 4 then. I can remember some things about being 3 and 4, but not Pioneer Village being anywhere else.

Had I known that that teacher aide's family owned the previous land, I would like to have had an interesting conversation with her about it at school in those days.

Hmm! Interesting. Thanks, the Sorensens and Lagoon (and Ray Boren/Deseret News)!

Oh, and Ethel was a great aide, too!

I remember when Pioneer Village was moved to Lagoon -- with the stipulation that admission to PV be FREE.

How come that isn't mentioned in this article?
