Can someone help me understand why his wealth is an issue? The man knows how to
make money. This is an evil characteristic?
Oh how terrible, Mr. Romney has been successful in business. Wow that would be
scary if a man who actually knows about money were put in charge of the
dwindling amount our country has.
Why is this bad ? he is donating his presidential salary to charity, HE IS NOT
DOING THIS FOR THE MONEY! He is rich, and that is evil ???
Romney's wealth is the least of his problems. He comes off as inauthentic,
testy, and his message is a little cloudy.
It would be a terrible tragedy for a government leader such as the president to
have an intimate understanding of how a business can create wealth and provide
quality jobs to the citizens. He would know how to cut fat out of the executive
branch of the government such as Departments of Homeland Defense, Labor &
Commerce, HUD, EPA, yadda, yadda, yadda. Actually, it looks like he's developed
an impressive portfolio; one that he earned personally.

His opponents will latch onto anything they can. It will be his success, his

As far as multi-millionaires go, I think Mr. Romney is out of touch. He hasn't

Corporations ARE people. My husband and I have two corporations--employing a
total of 8 people. Most corporations in America are just like us. We don't get
tax breaks and raising our taxes may put us under. Then there will be 8 people

most of our employees would be in a bad spot. What Romney said was true, he
just didn't articulate it very. The man wasn't talking about IBM here.
Well, fundraising won't be an issue for Romney as he can afford to self-fund his
own campaign.Romney is like George Bush, the son of a prominent,
well-to-do, high profile father who doesn't really know the struggles of the
common man. As for Romney being a job creator while at Bain, the evidence shows
that many people lost jobs when Bain took over companies. Republican fixation

food stamps and unemployment checks are more stimulative than tax cuts yet

what?Is there the slightest indication is is ill-gotten? By theft
or extortion? By hustling drugs? So what's the question?Mitt Romney is not my candidate, but anyone that would try and convert his
financial success into a political negative is taking a page from Marx -- either
Karl or Groucho. The only real question in this story is, what was
the writer smoking?
Mitt Romneys accumulation of wealth shows him to be extremely competent and
brilliant. Donny Osmond ascribes the same attributes to Lady Gaga. My father
spent 43 years in the coal mines and became disabled at age 57. Social security
helped him to live the rest of his life with some dignity and independence.
Social security did not enslave him nor destroy his agency. It had an opposite
effect. Would there be a similar program in Mitt Romneys world? I have to wonder
if they both were rewarded in life in accordance with contributions to society.
Did Hugh Heffner or Karl Malone contribute that much more than coal miners or
school teachers? I dont want a president that just knows how to make money.
"Warren Buffett, one of the richest men in the country, wants to pay more
taxes and thinks his super-rich friends should too." What a
contrast. Does Mitt Romney, like Rick Perry, want to repeal the 17th amendment?
For a party that loves the Constitution so much, the tea party Republicans want
to make a lot of changes.

it's been our perception that we don't want to create incentives for people not

Is Wall Street investing in Romney?. The largest corporate sources of money for
Romney are mostly finance industry leaders , including Morgan Stanley and Bank
of America. Goldman Sachs employees have given nearly a quarter of a million
dollars in contributions. Obama bailed them out. Do they now want more from

millions refusing to acknowledge he is un-electable. At the annual Miami-Dade

phrase, "¡Patria o muerte, venceremos!" Somehow, Romney missed
out on knowing that that phrase "Fatherland or death, we shall
overcome!" has for decades been the closing line of almost every one of
Castro's speeches. It's 100% associated with the Castro regime. Romney's
audience was not impressed. The keys to his success appear to be large donors
and contributors from the New York area. Romney appears to be getting less
money from at least one source, Utah. Obama's approval rating is
higher then Romney's that just knows how to make money, not how to run America.

Romney did not "amass" his wealth. He inherited his wealth from his
father, George W. Romney ( who was Mexican ). Mitt was born with a silver
spoon in his mouth.Obama earned his money and position in life on
his own merit and his own work.As a business man, Romney made money
by hostile taekovers of companies and then firing and downsizing workers. He
fired workers. Destroyed jobs to enrich himself. To Tom & B:
Romney does not meet the 'Birther's threshhold of being a "natural-born

parents must have been born in the US for them to be a natural-born citizen
qualified to run for president.
Procuradorfiscal: Great response! Good gutbuster! Thanks!truthseeker: What exactly is your point quoting three people who know
finances? What they aren't familiar with is human nature. And still the fact
remains, people don't get serious about finding employment until the benefits

& my wife's (three total employees including my wife and me, third employ is
not family but we attempt to treat her as such) are the life blood of America.
For the record, last year we grossed $350k. 34% went for employee payroll. The
remainder was expenses for rent, taxes, utilities, phones, equipment, and other
daily expenses. No cars, no fancy feasts, no extravagances. The
real purpose of a corporation is to protect personal assets, so that if the
business (or the real possibility of the entire economy) tanks, only the assets
of the business can be pursued by creditors.
It has been one month today since I got laid off my job that I've had for the
past 4 years. I finally got my first unemployment check last week, for $138.
Should get another one tomorrow. I've been applying all over for jobs, along
with dozens of other people who are applying for the same jobs. I had an
interview scheduled last Tuesday morning. They called me Monday afternoon and
said the job had been filled (they interviewed a bunch of people on Monday,
too). An earlier poster is very correct in saying there are 50 applicants for
ever 1 job. I am 64, so my age is a problem. Shouldn't be a factor, but in
truth it is. I'd love to just retire, but it takes both incomes to make ends

Oh the humanity! I think that is altogether too much money for one person to

So what were the elements that made the 2002 games a success?$342
million in federal money (ie earmarks) to plan and stage the Winter Games flowed
into Utah, a record outlay for the Olympics and nearly $50 million more in
constant dollars than was spent for the Atlanta Olympics, according to a report
in 2001 by the GAO.Previous Olympic Games had a set number of
sponsorship categories, for example, and when Romney and his team began work,
they were told the list was full. So they invented new categories. That is how
the Olympics got its first cake-mix sponsor (General Mills), first official
Olympic meat (certified Angus beef) and first official job-search Web site
(Monster.com). There was $500 million in sponsorship when we arrived, and by the
time we were done there was $860 million according to Utah Olympics COO, Fraser
Bullock. Romney also signed up Utah sponsors, collecting about $100 million
from local companies that had never given to the Olympics. The
International Olympic Committee had a stake in restoring its reputation after
the scandals and made concessions in sharing revenue. Thousands of volunteers
from Utah also played an important role

@ truthseeker: "As for Romney being a job creator while at Bain, the
evidence shows that many people lost jobs when Bain took over
companies."I see this one very differently. Companies like Bain look
for other companies who are not performing optimally, have potential value, but
can be bought at a reasonable price because they are struggling. They buy them,
turn them around, then sell them at a profit. People are sometimes laid off as
part of the reorganization effort. The alternative would be to watch the company
continue its downward slide to failure and see all the employees lose their
jobs. So Bain/Romney actually saved many net jobs. That's how it often works.
These so-called corporate raiders do a valuable service and are paid
handsomely...and often many employees and other investors are better off.
If he makes any more the republicans will cut his taxes even more.
Mon 8:20 PM Dear Americans!Turn East... look to England and
Greece... Welfare corrupts and corrods our society.Socialism/Communism are the ultimate "help." People need help to
help themselves maybe but we are becoming a society of sloth and degeneracy.
The class warfare rhetoric of Obama is the language of envy, resentment and
entitlement. It destroys societies from within. We need a leader for
America and it isn't Barack Obama. Americans need someone who understands the
Economy inside and out ... in my view, Mitt Romney has what it takes to lead
America back to a healthy and prosperous country!! His solid family values speak
volumes. He will inspire us that hard work is the key to a better future just
like the early settlers, so our next generation can also look into a brighter
future!! America is worth it.Thanks for listening.
This American has lived the American dream. He has used his education,
discipline, and financial abilities to earn money, that is the pursuit of
happiness. The present President and Secretary of Treasury don't know how to
handle money, especially that of the Americans who are striving for the dream.
They need to learn from Mr. Romney. He has dedicated his time, energy and
talents to the state of Massachusetts as Governor. He was responsible for
making the Olympics in 2002 a success and a historic memorable feat. What a
blessing to the state of Utah and Salt Lake City and the United States. The
founders of our Country and those that are dedicated to the proposition that
freedom comes from a strong defense and having a great educational system is
important. I don't think a President that spends $200M a day for his trips in
some instances is what our citizens want. They want someone who knows how to
earn and save money. Mr. Romney may take a hit with the Massachusetts medical
system but his legislative body supported this process that was a laboratory for
finding out which is good and bad. The one Congress did is bad.
Class warfare, pure and simple. It is the very core of the socialist
play book, and that is the only play the Democrats know.Romney
deserves every dollar he has EARNED. He is not collecting welfare, or making a
career out of government (including elected) jobs, or being a lobbyist.Anyone who criticizes Romney's wealth needs to be told- "Get a real

lost jobs, the big guy squeezing the little guy. And he grew up with a silver

closely and you'll see it.
I find it amazing that anyone would consider success to be a liability. However,
since the Democrats have little else to run on other than class envy, cradle to
grave economics and the virtues of being dependent on government, I guess being
successful is a pretty big sin.
Class Envy is mother's milk to Democrats. It comes from an unhealthy fixation on
the failed visions of Karl Marx.
The fantasy is guys like "Incite Full" who think they are in the
wealthy class or soon will be. It won't happen. It's not about class envy.
Like Warren Buffet says, treat the rich at least like the middle class in the
way they are taxed, not give them preferential treatment.
Pac_Man He comes off as inauthentic, testy, and his message is a little

stronger to last longer for many. "Studies have shown that food

because they get more on assistance than working a lower paying job. It is
easier to get a higher paying job while working than not working!
responce to Truthseeker continued"yet Republicans/Romney favor tax
cuts, and taxing unearned income lower than earned income." The companies
and corporations do not pay taxes, the consumer of their product or service do
in the pricing. It is not the governments job to make jobs but only to make an
enviornment that business can thrive. Higher taxes and regulations do not make
for that condusive enviornment. Also what is unearned income if not dividends
paid on investments in business that creates jobs. With dividends means
business doing well and the investors risk paid off to invest some more.
