And anybody will believe Axelrod...or Obama...or anyone affiliated with this
administration? The most dishonest presidency in history wants us to believe
something they say? Believe the opposite, and you'll be closer to the truth.
Of course, Chicago politicians would never stoop so low.
When you have no record to run on, this is what you do!
So they didn't even call him weird? Be classy like Mitt where he
just wonders aloud if Obama was born in Kenya as long as it's beneficial to
wonder aloud or asserting that the entire recession is Obama's fault all by
himself. Be classy and completly go off the deep end like Romney has
on RUMORS that Obama MIGHT call him wierd.....Romney is not
embracing the truth much.
Unfortunately, Mr. Axelrod's comments pale to the fact that various inside
sources have commented to Politico and Huffington Post. It would be
a shame for Obama to stoop to this level. We'd expect it from the far left
(look for Pelosi and Reid to do this) and the far right (Chaffetz and Bachman
are already doing this, too).Too bad. It would be nice to have
conversation on the ideas ... right?
Romney's real enemy is the tea party evangelicals.
So politico makes up stories and then when caught redhanded it hides behind it's
un-named source ....that is what is wrong with today's journalism...it's full of
You can tell when Axelrod is being less than forthright withthe truth. His
mouth is open and he is talking. Too bad the "mainstream" media will
fall for his fakery.
We havent heard the truth since we have heard Obamas name. I dont think he knows
what the truth is. If he says something we can expect the opposite. I am very
displeased with his presidency, his integrity, his politics. I cant wait for the
next election to cast my vote for the person who runs against him.
It's funny to see people on here so eager to have something to hate Obama for
that they're actually disappointed to learn that Obama didn't say something
Also: the most dishonest presidency in history? That's simply a preposterous,
unfounded, irrational assertion. You have Bush's II's WMD's, Clinton's
"is," Bush I's "read my lips," Reagan's "I don't
remember selling those arms to the contras," Nixon's "I'm not a
crook," etc. etc. etc. And you're saying that Obama's presidency is
"the most dishonest in history"?Let me give you a hint
about political and civic discourse, folks. If you say crazy things that
obviously aren't true, nobody pays attention to you when you calm down and say
something reality-based. Just because your hyperbole knob goes to 11, that
doesn't mean you need to keep it there.
The wine and cheese Democrats may find Romney and his religion a little
eccentric. sans wine for those of us who are LDS. A huge portion of Republicans
believe his religion is evil and satanic. When will LDS republicans face this
fact? Will they really give LDS Romney a chance to be the candidate? The
evangelicals think your religion is evil! They dominate your party! You would
like to believe that Obama will target Romney's religion, but your enemy is
oh well. if all goes as it should we wont have to deal with Obama and the gang
anymore. and then we will have another administration in charge so we can all
say the same thing about them we are saying about the Obama administration and
then we can vote them out of office and get a differant administration so we can
say the same thing about them... same old stuff.. differant day .. same old
white house differan staff same old stuff over and over and over. but I do like
the idea of Obama being a one term president and so should all of America.. well
whats left of it anyway..
Obama is showing his true self, he is a liar, prevaricator, and denies he even
made such a statement. Weird? That is Obama in a nut shell. I have never seen a
man that can bore so many people at a time, not even the news media can figure
out what he is saying so they just repeat his words, and weird was in Obama
vocabulary.Obama can speak for 20 minutes and never say anything,
that's weird. He is a car salesman with a speech so off the wall you have to
shake your head in disbelief. It's obvious that Obama never made it to any
sororities or college level classes and Mein Kampf (english version?) is the
only book he has ever read.
This whole thing strikes me like another "Canuck letter" type scam run
by Republican dirty tricksters against a Democrat (Just like what was done to
Edmund Muskie by the Nixon dirty tricksters). President Obama has always proved
himself to be above this type of thing. I can see no reason why he would lower
himself to do it now.
The Obama Administration will deny any responsibility for bad mouthing
Republican candidates, however, they secretly encourage their "hit
men" to "kill" the opposition by using annonymous sources. The
democrats have learned much from union negotiators about discrediting their
opposition. It is an old game and they have learned it well. The current
administration has no record to stand on. What else can they do?
Hmmm...attacking Romney's character and business record? I'm laughing....Obama
i thought those points about military and oil economics in texas were relevant
and a cursory look seems to support the claims---i am not a perry fan for other
reasons but this seems to be another reason for not joining up---
I can't stop anyone from being mean-spirited here, and I realize that running
for president is a tough business with tough people in the main roles. But still, there IS a precedent here that we could look to that would help us
predict this campaign's name calling, or lack of it. The precedent is 2007-8, an
extended campaign in which Obama not only had to defeat not only John McCain, a
well-known senator, but also Hillary Clinton, who led him in endorsements,
organization and cash as the campaign began early in 2007. Now,
please ask the question: did Obama EVER make any nasty cracks about McCain's age
or lack of technical savvy? Did he try to dredge up anything pertaining to the
Clinton impeachment trial or some other past event other than votes in the
Senate, which are public records? And if he had, would Mrs. Clinton have joined
the administration?IMO if we are honest with ourselves we should
conclude that any huge plan to label an opponent as "weird" would be
way out of character for Obama OR his campaign staff.
The man is a genius. An evil one, but genius nonetheless!Axelrod
just guaranteed that every newspaper and TV station would run something with
"Romney" and "wierd" in the same sentence repeated several
times. And, he can boast that his people would never say anything
like that or they would be fired! Most Americans do not really pay
much attention to politics, but will have buried in their subconscious a
connection between "Romney" and "wierd" that will probably
lose him millions of votes. Of course, many other lurid accusations will be
hurled at him by Obama allies and surrogates if he gets the nomination.
Agree with you, DN Subscriber.Axelrod is using paralepsis to great
effect.Watch for more - it's sure to come:Awful stories
being leaked to the media about Romney, Mormons, Romney's businesses, awful
stories about Romney's stint as Governor, all made by Obama supporters, followed
by denials about who leaked it and condemnation of the media for publishing such
damaging stuff about Romney (repeated several times during the denial and
condemnation) by Obama and his aides. The leakers won't be identified
because journalists have their own self-serving ethics about protecting the
identities of their sources, and can't get involved in the story, even to defend
themselves. What the public sees is Obama and team taking the high road and
condemning the stories about Romney without commenting on their veracity. Classic. Brilliant. Effective. VERY difficult for Romney to combat.
Oh, and don't think I approve of the tactic. It's slimy and disgusting, but you
can't deny its brilliance.Hope Romney's team can find an inspired
Dave, You are so right. I have noticed this going on with other things and never
knew there was a name for it! This is the style MSNBC uses, too.
The unfortunate thing is that obama has gone back on his word time and time
again...I could list many here but we all know...suffice to say Obama now owns
the title of liar. This is a progressive liberals method of operation...make
huge promises as long as it brings you to power then do as you wish. I am having
a hard time believing him and his administration about anything. He stopped
being my president (and I didn't vote for him) when he completely ignored the
publics cries opposing his health care debacle. He's an empty suit that is way
over his head.
Let's just say for a moment that the President did say "weird", in
reference to Mitt Romney...so what? Not very classy, I agree, but really? All
this for that? I'm not a fan of Obama, but it seems a rather small thing to get
your panties all tied up in a wad about. And just so you know, unfortunately,
both (or all) political parties have been slinging mud since the country began,
it just seems to get dirtier and dirtier as we go. "Weird" seems
pretty tame in comparison to a lot of the comments I have read on this site
about Mr. Romney in reference to other articles published. Too bad we can't make
people accountable for themselves on their own merits instead of having to hear
all the trash talk.
My faith and my religion prevent me from saying hatefull things about
anybody.I guess many who post here don't have what I have.Well,
thats Ok with me. I hope I never have to go to sleep after a day of saying and
repeating denigrating comments I listened to on AM radio.
Re: Mark B | 5:32 p.m. Aug. 13, 2011 The question here isn't whether
we've being mean spirited. The question here is whether the Obama
Administration would stoop to dirty politics. Coming from Chicago I think we
can figure out that answer without David Axelrod. Hasn't Illinois had two
former governors in prison? Rod R. Blagojevich is probably the most honest
politician to come out of that state.
