"I've closely observed how deeply Romney analyzes issues. He sees the good
in others' views and seeks win/win solutions . . . ." Apparently you haven't been paying attention to what Romney is saying about
President Obama and the current administration, particularly Obamneycare.
Romney is pandering to the ultra-right-wing Evangelicals in order to gain their
votes.Romney, along with the author of this letter clearly
demonstrate a deep failure to understand the phrase "With LIBERTY and
Justice for ALL". That doesn't just mean heterosexuals, Ryan. It clearly
means Every American. Not to mention the unconstitutionality of legal
discrimination against Citizens just because they're "icky".
When Romney ran for the senate, he promised to be a stronger advocate for gay
rights than Ted Kennedy.
come on Ryan, this failed argument has been struck down repeatedly by the courts
and the people have stopped listening to those that oppose gay marriage. If you
want to guarantee to lose the debate keep making these same baseless arguments.
Lets look at some of Romneys claims:1. In 2007 he claimed that the
NRA had endorsed him - the NRA never did.2. The same year he claimed
that his father had marched with Martin Luther King, Jr. No record has been
found of such a march and he later conceded that he only
"figuratively" saw his father march with MLK.3. This year
Romney said of President Obama, "Instead of encouraging entrepreneurs and
employers, he raise[d] their taxes." In fact, President Obama has not
raised taxes on corporations during his three years in office. In December, he
extended the Bush tax cuts.4. Romney claims he did not raise taxes
as Governor of MA. Technically, he did not raise taxes but he is responsible
for the largest hike in fees in the state's history.5. Romney claims
that as Governor, he delivered a balanced budget every time. He only did this by
dipping into the states rainy-day fund early and often - and failed to replenish
the funds. He left office with the rainy-day fund reduced by more than $1.5
billion!-information from MSNBC First Read
@George Just because a few activist judges make choices that are not consistent
with true American values (family values) doesn't mean that the gay marriage
issue is a valid one. Also, I don't know what people you are referring to, but
God loving, God fearing people still oppose gay marriage. What
homosexuals do not understand is that marriage is meant for the creation of
families, and until two people of the same sex can create a baby together
without outside help, they are not meant to be married. I am really
tired of hearing the comment that not allowing gays to marry is taking their
liberty away from them. So, your neighbor owns a cadillac, and you think you
deserve one, too.....but you can't afford it. May I state again
that marriage is meant for the creation of families. If children were meant to
be raised by two people of the same sex, two people of the same sex would be
able to create babies.
To Grandma Char: I had a vasectomy prior to my marriage, the state still saw no
reason to deny me a marriage license.
Grandma Char,I've been married for many years, and my spouse and I
have not produced children, yet we are very happy together and can't imagine not
being married to each other. Is our marriage invalid because we
didn't make babies?I note that you inject God rather powerfully into
your argument. Why do your particular religious beliefs trump the civil rights
of other people who don't belong to your religion?
@GrandmaChar"Just because a few activist judges make choices
that are not consistent with true American values (family values) doesn't mean
that the gay marriage issue is a valid one. Also, I don't know what people you
are referring to, but God loving, God fearing people still oppose gay
marriage."You probably also thought the judges who overruled
interracial marriage bans were activist judges too.
What's nuts about FOX News? There are always three sides to every
story.FOX tells their side.MSNBC tells their side.Somewhere, in the middle between those two well defined extremes, you'll
find the truth."News" (accurate, unbiased reporting of an
event) does not exist. It has been replaced by "OP/ED" Journalism."News" does not sell."OP/ED" Journalism
does.Now, about that bridge...
@VST 12:00pm "Quoting MSNBC as a credible source of news information is
just as nuts and quoting Fox News."Additional sources reporting
the items from my previous post:1. No NRA endorsement-
Washington Post- NY Times- CBS News- NRA website2.
Claimed his father had marched with Martin Luther King, Jr. - Romney
conceded that this was not true- CBS News3. President Obama

state's history.- USA Today- Reuters- Concord Monitor

@grandmachara few problems with your logic first it was not a few activist
judges it was several judges, all the credible peer reviewed research, every
major field of study and professional organization that studies and deals with
human behavior (The APA for example) and a majority of Americans (check recent
polls). Your view is a vanishing view of a (not soon enough to be) by gone and
ugly time in our in history.
And another one bites the dust! New York just approved same-sex marriage!
Me thinks you protesteth too much.
Romney joked about being unemployed to a group of unemployed in FL.He grasps the issues all right in 'let them eat cake' way.
@Grandma Char;"God loving, God fearing people", who oppose
gay marriage are free to NOT enter into one. Isn't that easy? Now, what you
aren't free to do is to enact laws that discriminate against us simply because
you oppose Liberty. What YOU don't understand is that Marriage is
meant as a means to safeguard a family's property and inheritance. There is NO
REQUIREMENT that marriages produce children. If it were otherwise, old people
wouldn't be allowed to marry. Sterile people wouldn't be allowed to marry. Do
you understand this issue? I seriously doubt it.Family Values
applies to GLBT families as well as heterosexual families. We are all part of,
and have families of our own, just like you. It is Anti-American to enact
