I'm not a Huntsman supporter, but he is the type of candidate the GOP needs to
pull them from the sewer of destruction politics that the party has fallen into.
I respect him, and I just hope he will not succumb to the radical right wing
that wold rather bring the nation down than actually lead.
He may be a real nice person but he is way too liberal for me to vote for him
I agree that Huntsman is a class act, but he is faced with an un-winnable
situation. Either he can stand tall, as the moderate that he is, on issues like
global warming, and get eviscerated by the no-nothing tea partiers, or he can
severely damage his credibility by disavowing all of this past positions. John
Huntsman is a great candidate and it would be a shame to see him back track on
his accomplishments. It is absolutely pathetic to see Hatch, and Romney, try to
impress the far right with their revisionist history conservative credentials.
I liked that he said in a Wall Street Journal that those who disagree with
changing medicare and social security have a MORAL obligation to say how they
will continue these programs. Referring to a moral argument differentiates
leadership from management. If he bases things on morality in other
areas he will move beyond the Karl Rove and Morris (the guy who worked for
Clinton) political stuff where they are thinking only of politics. So
he looks promising for me.
Huntsman winning the Republican nomination is about as likely as Anne Frank
winning the Nazi vote.
Sure, but what if the opposite happens and Huntsman appears to go through an IQ
removal procedure that leaves him sounding like Dick Cheney or Sarah Palin in
order to try to fool the rest of the "shrinking tent" Party?
Civility is great, but any candidate has got to be prepared to criticize their
opposition. And do it forcefully if necessary.
You all need to give the media some time to come up with ways to make him look
like a complete fool. I watched Colbert try to do it to him just last night. I
doesn't seem possible at the moment, but Palin once was seemed very classy too,
before the media trashed her.
---When I see the Commies on these pages start acting civil to those
who disagree with them, then I'll start to worry about Huntsman. Huntsman is McCain 2.0 and we know how that worked out, right? Republicans
nominated who the Left and the national media said was a "maverick", a
"moderate conservative/Republican", someone who can reach across the
aisle and compromise etc.As soon as he was nominated the Left and
national media took to destroying him like a piranha does to fresh meat in the
water. What we need is a real conservative who actually believes in
the core values of this country and who will actually uphold the COTUS.The differences between the Commies and Americans couldn't be any starker than
it is right now.@Esquire: with your vast knowledge of America, her
history, both parties and COTUS, can you please detail for us what Obama meant
when he said that he wanted to "fundamentally change America"? What is
wrong with her? What needs to be fundamentally changed and why and how?You see, there are many of us who think Obama is out to destroy America and
thus far, he's succeeding. Shameful!
