Great Story BradAs a former coach I always looked up to Coach Gelix
and I took a lot of his philosophies onto the court and field. Coach Gelwix is
what a coach is supposed to be like, it was all about building good boys into to
better men. I saw him talk once to a youth group and I am a better person for
it, with him gone there is now a large hole in our community. Coach
you will be missed by our community, I am glad you are going to still be out
there influencing people, keep up the good work.
I am very grateful to have been coached by Coach Gelwix. He has been a great
role model and example for me both as a player for HR, as well as member of my
religion and community. The missionaries of Fresno are in for a real treat!
On the question what we think Coach Gelwix should do after his mission call? Why not start a major league rugby team right here in Utah? They did it
with Real S.L., why not?We might some day see the 'All Blacks' from New
Zeland here in S.L., hey maybe even beat them?
I knew Larry while I was growing up. I've never known someone more able and
capable of working with youth. A great opportunity for Larry and the young men
and women with whom he will work.
You didn't mention he kept things rolling after Highland High school kicked him
off of their fields. Hard to have a practice if you don't have anywhere to
go.Here's a thanks to Cottonwood for hosted Highland Rugby these
last years (and never getting any credit for it)To bad it's not like
Major League Baseball; where they have the Los Angeles Angels ...... at Anaheim.
Then it would be the Highland Rugby team at Cottonwood
