I just heard that Obama is going to announce that Osama bin Laden is dead. Stay
Bin Laden dead.Bush couldn't, wouldn't, didn't. Obama
Bush failed.Obama accomplished the mission.
USA USA USA
Could we please bring our troops home now?
After 9/11 happened it was so unimaginable that I thought then as well now that
their sinister plot (Al Qaeda) could continue against America without him. Heard
while waiting for President Obama to come on that America has his body. God
bless the U.S.A.
Bush had the bravery to start it and Mr. Obama rode coat tales to the finish.
It will be interesting to hear how they got him, and to hear what they do with
his body. Whatever they do, they need to make sure there isn't some place where
terrorists can go on pilgrimage.
A guy they were interviewing on TV said that Al Qaida operatives are not going
to accept the word of the US that Bin Laden is dead and will demand proof.I wonder how many Al Qaida operatives are going to be posting on this
Isn't it funny how it took Bush 8 years to lose Osama Bin Laden? And it only
took 2 1/2 years for Obama to find and kill him?Man I love this
President!USA USA USA!
Finally . . .It Obama to get Osama. Kind of poetic.
@ ????: Nice to know that you think the current actions being taken by our
military are nothing but "coat tales."
Maybe Obama should be Secretary of Defense instead
Bush had the bravery to start it?? HAHAHA Some of these posts are so funny. God
bless the USA. 3,000 or so people who lost their lives on 9/11/2001 are finally
avenged. Please people dont politicize the results. It was american
intelligence, with our commander in chief providing them with the tools they
needed. I think concentrating in Afganastan like we have for the last year with
over 100,000 troops, probably helped. Rather than waste our time and efforts in
Yeah. Obama got Bin Ladin. . . . .After ten years of us looking for him, 8 of
those while he wasn't President. Sheesh. You actually think Obama would look for
him if 9/11 happened on his watch? Not hardly.Anyway, good for our
troops! they are AWESOME.
The team effort paid off to get Osama; unfortunately he was only one of the
This isn't about Bush or Obama separately. This is about our country keeping a
promise that was made on 9/11..."We will hunt down and punish those
responsible for these terrorist attacks." It wasn't Mr. bush or Mr. Obama
who found and killed this evil man, it was our troops. We should put politics
aside for one night and be proud of the fact that our country won't tolerate
terrorism, no matter how long it takes to bring terrorists to justice.
It's naive to think or profess that either Bush or Obama had anything personally
to do with the outcome of this. Rather it's our armed forces that have been
pursuing Osama Bin Laden regardless of the name on the desk in the oval office.
Ultimately, the military is responsible for the outcome.
Okay, I've read the comments that Obama did what Bush couldn't. Get real. We
might as well say that it happened because the Republicans took back congress.
What a joke. Can we just enjoy the moment and quit making it political?
I simply cannot remember the last time I heard any good news of any kind. I
hope this moment of good news can lead to new hope and define a turning point to
the positive for our country.
When President Obama was first elected, I predicted that he would get Osama Bin
Laden. It was a very optimistic guess, but I am very pleased to see it come to
pass. Congratulations President Obama. Congratulations Special Forces.
100 years from now we will have a very different story then what we believe
right now. I have a copy of "Life" magazine from 1944. In
this magazine is an add from a defense contractor bragging that their technology
helped the US Navy defeat the Japanese Navy at the Battle of Salvo Island in
1942 and in the process sunk 5 Japanese cruisers. The problem is that this was a
complete lie. The Battle of Salvo Island happened though the US Navy did not
sink a single Japanese ship, instead the Japanese sunk 4 US Navy and 1
Australian cruisers. It was sheer propaganda. It is shocking that even two years
after the battle Americans had no idea the truth. I would be interested to know
when the truth was finally known. My point, I do not believe Osama
Bin Laden is dead. Many, many military types have questions about his role and
the nature of his existence in the first place. Is this similar to the 15-year
old Jewish boy who burned the Reichstag down leading to the rise of fascism in
Germany?I have seen too many lies to simply buy this.
B... It is because it was claimed Obama was weak on terror... Chaney, and many
others made this a political issue. It should not have been, but it was.The message here is that we will get those who attack america whether it
be a Republican or a Democrat president.Justice has finally been
Finally.Although terroism continues to be front and center, let's use the
same resolve and skill to tackle the other issues. Not birth certificates.
Okay I will admit that the news of Osamas death is wonderful news. I will also
admit that I am saddened that it hadnt happened sooner. There is, however, a
problem that I have with some peoples reactions. The problem stems from
congratulating Obama for his death. The main reason for this is the simple poor
logic involved in these congratulations. If one were to look at this
news they would realize that the President has very little control over these
strikes. Yes he has some but the real congratulations should be given to our
covert operatives that actually took Osama down! These are the ones that did the
work. These are the ones that made things happen. The President though has done
little. Not because he is poor or that he doesnt care but simply because he
doesnt have the time to work in these day to day operations. The real success
comes from those that gathered the information and acted on that information to
bring down this monster. To assert otherwise would do nothing more than drive a
wedge between the American people, something that for now we do not need.
I applaud all brave soldiers and intelligence personnel who tool part in this
act of bringing a sense of justice for the cowardly attack on innocent people on
Who cares if it happened under Bush or Obama? The point is that the mass mind
of the murder of thousands of innocent lives is dead. Can't we all
put politics aside for one second and just thank God for this?
It's not about Bush or Obama. It's about the men and women of the armed
forces. It's about the people who lost their lives on 9/11.It's about
all of the American people. It's about justice.
The military killed Bin Laden...Obama didn't do jack but give approval to pull
Congrats and many thanks to the special ops soldiers and those behind the ops
strategists who planned the operation; also thanks to the silent service (CIA).
Also thank you Mr. President for making this a top priority and thank you former
Pres. Bush for starting the effort; let it serve as a warning to all other
terrorists; you can run, you can hide, but in the end well get you.
I'm Immensely relieved that this terrorist leader is out of the picture. Thank
heavens he is no longer on the earth to inspire evil. He will be judged by God
for all he has done and I wouldn't really want to be in his shoes (or sandals)at
that point. I hate to be the pessimist here but I don't think it's
going to slow Al-Queada all that much. They still seem to be pretty organized
and determined. In fact, I wonder if this will trigger retaliation. I think we
still need to keep our guard up and watch for suspicious activity.
Reagan did not. Bush 1 did not. Clinton did not. Bush 2 did not. Obama did
not.THE MILITARY DID IT!!Great job brothas.
This is not a matter of Bush v Obama. The real credit goes to the Courage and
tenancity of the US Defense Force. Congratulations goes to those who protect
and serve this great nation.
Can't we just once be happy for the Nation instead of the continual political
partisanship that seems to reign. I 'm pleased for the military, President
Obama, President Bush, the intelligence community and above all for the American
people who are in desperate need of some good news every once in a while.
Do you think we could call of the criticism of TSA? The TSA is going to be
tested like never before. There will be attempts to retaliate by Al Qaeda.
Everybody needs to be watchful. Let TSA do their jobs. It's going to be tough.
A huge psychological victory congrats to those engaged in the effort. Of course
terrorism will continue and Obama is correct that these terrorists have murdered
not just U.S. Citizens but even more Muslims.
Good riddance. Props to the brave people who finally got it done.
This is incredible news. I just hope it's true.
Great News!Stay vigilant America. There are thousands, in
the madrassa incubators, just waiting to take his place.
They are not reporting Osama was killed in Libya. Obama voted against military
action ten years ago. All credit to the armed forces. They always make me
proud to be an American!
This was done by our intelligence people and our military. All our President did
was say it was Ok to kill him. Please give me a break, this isn't about Obama
or Bush or any other President. Barack Obama is the worst President to ever
occupy the Oval Office.
The world Lives as Cheers wail With in many others Finally after all these
years!Yet thiers lone sharks that keep making trouble Thankyou
Mr.President Thankyou hats off!For So many our American Soldiers for all
you have done.Asto Protect everybody on USA grounds and airforce
& Submarines You are always In our Thoughts.A Long Tribute to those who have
Died for America safety & Security= stay Aware its not over Until
thier some Peace in the World & America~
This had nothing to do with a specific President. To say that Bush was a
failure for not getting Osama and Obama is a success is disingenuous and is
political pandering at the worst. This is the type of divisiveness that is
tearing our country apart. It is the men/women of the military and
intelligence community that accomplished this. It was not Republican or
Democrat or Tea Party or Independent that accomplished it. It was our national
resolve to bring a mass murderer to justice. Now we just have to be
attentive because there are still many who want the absolute destruction of
"every" single US Citizen, Obama supporters and Bush supporters alike.
I think its unfortunate that the true believers on both sides can't even drop
the political rhetoric at a time like these. We are the UNITED States and people
of America on issues like this. President Bush and our brave young
men and women in uniform did everything they could to bring this mass murdered
to justice.President Obama did the same and finally accomplished the
mission. He deserves credit and praise for completing the task. His address to
the nation was excellent and spot on.I'm a Republican, and disagree
with many of President Obama's policies especially domestically. However, he is
our commander in chief, and he did us proud on this one.Let's put
politics aside for at least an hour and respond as Americans united in our
praise for a job well done, and justice served.
It took 10 years to track him down and now Big O wants all the credit! He sure
knows how to use the word "I"!
Congratulations to our military. A strong military and special ops
gets things done. I hope our politicians can take a cue from the
military and get something done as well, like the economy and balancing the
I never saw a people so happy and celebratory in the wake of death of a human
being. I'm sure angels in heaven are dancing in the streets as we are today. How
savage a society we have become to glorify suffering of any kind.
Bush didn't get Bin Laden.Obama didn't get Bin Laden.Troops from our United States Military got Bin Laden. This shouldn't be about
political parties. It should be about the heroics of all of our troops.Good job men and thank you.
Stopping Economic tail-spin, checkPassing HealtchCare, checkActually
getting Osama Bin Laden, checkI don't know, but Pres. Obama's
re-election in 2012 against looks like a shut-out.Against who?
Donald Trump, Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee.
So, bin Laden was living in a mansion outside of Islamabad? Isn't that under
control of Pakistan? They had better come up with a good reason as to why he
was able to live there and was not under arrest by them. It sounds like
Pakistan was harboring our number one enemy.
When the military failed miserably in Iran trying to launch a mission to free
the US hostages, the failure was blamed on then what some called the worst
President ever. Now with a success, the current president is granted no credit
for his leadership, and again is the worst president ever. When American
military went after libyia, the president was totally responsible. when the
military strikes a victory, the president had nothing to do with it.It is too bad some people can't constrain there hate.even in a moment victory
for the US. In many ways it is absolutely right this isn't about
Obama. But you can't have it that only bad things are his fault, and anything
good is not his to take even a small portion of credit. He is after all our
commander and chief, like it or nota.
Congratulations to our military and the Commander in Chief. It was very
important that we re-focused from Iraq and brought justice.
Had the mission failed the president would have been blamed. He exercised
courage in ordering this attack.
It isn 't just the lives lost on 9/11 but all the lives lost in the effort to
bring bin Laden to justice. I hope their families feel a measure of peace and
accomplshment tonight. it was known that elements in the Pakisani ISI were
sympathetic to bin LadenSo the leaders in Pakistan need to watch their
FYI Obama was elected a Senator in 2005, and therefore did not have the
opportunity to vote on the original Afghanistan or Iraq Invasion.
It is an exaggeration to give Obama all the credit, but it is also an
exaggeration to say he had nothing to do with it. He had to receive the
intelligence and make the decision. And it wasn't a sure-thing either, because
in order to take him out they had to drop into Pakistan, and they had to decide
whether or not to ask Pakistan's permission. Obama decided not to and to just go
ahead. If you don't think that top-level strategy is important in
situations like this, you need to read up on Osama's escape during the battle of
Tora Bora in 2001.We don't have to celebrate our President, but as
Americans we should certainly celebrate with him! Give credit where it's do. If
you don't give Obama props when he deserves props, your gripes become far less
4452 dead soldiers, at least 100,000 dead civilians, $1,188,295,450,000 dollars
spent, a power vacuum in the Middle East, and countless freedoms stripped in
America. Osama is dead now.Bring our troops home and end this
After silencing his critics over his birth certificate,Pres. Obama starts
a new conspiracy theory of his own called "Deathers" -- for those
denying Osama Bin Laden's valid DEATH certificate....
Obama may not deserve credit for getting Osama, but Bush definately gets
credit for losing him.If Bush hadn't been obsessed with Saddam
Hussein, this would have been over a long time ago.
Barack Obama could not, no way, anyhow, qualify for a security clearance via any
other way than by being elected. (A fact too many Americans don't take into
account when voting - character should be an issue, and no one knew anything
tangible about this character.) I am surprised frankly that he was given this
kind of sensitive information from as far back as it is being reported, as I
have no doubts many in the chain would not have trusted Obama personally with
the info. Luckily for America he doesn't have much breathing room to conduct
his own little agendas for political expediencies.I look forward to
whatever revelations come about the support and such that came from the
Pakistanis, and whatever upheavals this might bring in the ISI.
I am in total agreement with the suggestion that politics be set aside and the
triumphant moment brought about by the intrepid men of the forces be truly
celebrated. I say this from the standpoint of a Canadian who loves his American
I have a hope that we can stop the bickering, and the division in America and
start to come together like we use to be. To me the division that has happened
has taken a toll on us and our quality of life. It's up to all of us to reach
out to one another and unite as Americans. United we stand, divided we fall.
I have a question for all of you that are saying that Obama had nothing to do
with this and deserves no credit. What would be your reaction if we had received
word that he had authorized a mission to capture a high value target, which
resulted in the deaths of 40 special forces personnel and the destruction of
several military choppers? He would have been owned by FOX news and the
Republican party. The only thing that we would be hearing for the next several
weeks is how Obama is like Carter and the failed mission to rescue the hostages
in Iran. I think if he took the risk of what failure would mean for him, he
deserves the rewards that come with victory.
It was our military that accomplished this. Thanks to all involved that never
gave up. This isn't about politics it is about Americas courage and resolve. I
am willing to give credit where credit is due and yes I give Obama credit for
staying the course. Justive always prevails. God bless America.
Now then...the questions remain. If this is true...How big will be the uprising
and the unification of his martyrdom and how long will we be fighting throughout
all of the middle east as a result of having accomplished this one particular
mission that took way too long to finally be fulfilled ??? This isn't the end
by no means. If the U.S. is thinking that the War on terrorism is over or nearly
over then they truly do not understand the resolve of radical Islam. We'll know
over the next few months just exactly what is in store. It would be a
tremendous victory if it meant what we would like it to to mean...but the face
value and it's actual underlying core value unfortunately are not the same.
We've already had one significant premature "Mission Accomplished"
celebration...and we won't know the fallout from this "not fully
verified" significant event as of yet. You have to realize that if Osama
bin Ladin is in fact dead and died in combat... then his celebration of
martyrdom will more than likely be a proportionally significant event as well.
We must maintain our viligence.
"Barack Obama could not, no way, anyhow, qualify for a security clearance
via any other way than by being elected."Please detail out what
this means. What is it about BO that that would preclude him from getting
security clearance? This should be interesting.
It is a good day for America - no matter who gets "credit". We should
sit back and enjoy this moment while it last.Unfortunately we all
know too well that this will not end groups like this who wish to initiate
political change through intimidation, and attacking innocents. Hopefully
though this will slow them down some. But we know the target has just changed,
not gone away. But for today, lets just enjoy the satisfaction that
in part justice for 9/11 has been served. Enjoying being an American today - or
one who love liberty no matter where you live. We can get back to
petty comments tomorrow.
Congrats to all involved in bringing justice to the world.I can't
figure out why many in these posts cannot bring themselves to give any credit to
our current President for the success? What is about President Obama that
people find so offensive? Is it politics? Racial prejudice? I can't figure it
out. Why can't we, as Americans, be proud of our President?I teach
history at the high school level. It's sad to hear the comments students repeat
about our leaders, regardless of political party, that they hear from their
parents. As a society we are damaging our future with our inability to be proud
of being an American. We're so busy being Republicans and Democrats we forget
we are Americans. Many of the comments posted here are examples of this
concern.I hope the day will return when we are Americans first!
Having the body buried (many of us would rather say 'discarded') at sea is a
perfect solution, denying any opportunity to those that might want to pay any
respect to this person.Again, congratulations to the Navy Seals for
a job well done. The world is better off today.
Obama cut a round of golf short yesterday to take care of Osama. Now back to
golfing and frittering our economy away. King Obama, the golfer, also said that
"al-quaida is not dead, and we must continue to be vigilant." Now
this is the direct opposite postion that he took years ago. I hope he doesn't
mean we will continue to waste precious blood and national treasure fighting
immoral wars in the islamic world.
Amazing how in a moment of triumph for our country that all we can do is bicker
about who gets credit. I think we are our own worst enemy. There are
a lot of people who deserve some credit. Bush and Obama both deserve some
credit. Obama deserves some credit for sure since he made capturing Osama a
priority. However Bush made captureing Osama a priority as well. It just so
happens that the military found Osama during Obama's presidency. Some of the
intel was gathered from people detained during Bush's presidency. I believe
both presidents where doing the right thing. But lets not forget the real work
was done by the armed forces.
The President authorized and personally directed the operation. His approach
has been called aggressive and daring. On KSL news last night and here the
desperate conservatives have been trying to spin it the other way. The Iraq
operation painted the right into a corner, it is time they come our and act in
our country's interest.
o is my hero. at the end of the day he'll establish that he was there and
personally shot him.
Bush disbanded the Bin Laden unit in 2006. Not sure how focused we were on
Bin Laden during those times. Obviously Our hands were full with Iraq and
the insurgency there.
His body has already been disposed of at sea? Really? Why did they dispose of
him so quick? Could it be that he really died years ago and now when Obama's
team find this out they stage a big fire fight and then Bin Ladan is dead? It
was all fabricated for ratings, that all.
Personally, I find it sad that another life was taken in a brutal manner and
that millions are celebrating. Remember how we felt when we saw the footage of
celebrating in the streets on 9/11/2001. There is something wrong with
celebrating the killing of human life. I would rather he would have been
captured, brought to trial (so he could see his atrocities), then properly
sentenced like Saddam Hussein was. Now I realize that in this particular case,
events had to proceed as they did, and I am happy that there were relatively
very few lives taken. It is all the celebrating that I am deeply concerned
about. Do we have to stoop to the same level of our enemies? What does this
say about the society that we live in?
I was just reading that his body was buried at sea. Yesterday the news media
said we had his body and DNA testing was done to confirm his identity. Now we
have no body and even if we have the DNA results, how do we know they are really
bin Ladin's without his body? Could this have been a ploy for the
presidential campaign? In his speach last night, the president was crediting
mostly himself for the victory.
Great news. A little embarrassing to hear groups of people chanting "USA,
USA" like we just won an Olympic gold medal match. A terrorist and a
mass-murdered is dead, justice is done, but it isn't exactly a time to celebrate
in the streets. Well done to our brave military involved in this, you are
I am waiting for a month or two to pass and a new Osama video surfaces where he
says, "The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated".
How could we be so stupid to bury evidence of a crime in the sea? Now conspiracy
theory will abound. Was Bin Ladin really killed? Was he already dead? Is he
really still alive? Were Americans and the rest of the world duped into
believing something that really didn't happen? Was this report a hoax? No
autopsy? Why? Isn't every human being, regardless of how vile he may be,
deserving of a proper burial? This makes absolutely no sense. Why must our
government quickly clean up crime scenes without proper handling of evidence.
This reckless destruction of evidence also occurred in Waco, Oklahoma City and
New York City. This is foolishness and this may come back to haunt us for
decades to come.
"Buried at sea?" Perfect. We have a dead terrorist with no
body...And we have a president with no papers...
Congratulations to all involved on this accomplishment! As a life-long
Republican I have no problem giving credit to the President, his administration
and in particular the CIA, Military and the brave Navy Seals who carried this
out. One of the great mistakes of the Bush administration is that
the Military had Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden pinned down in the Tora Bora
mountians but the authorization to go ahead to proceed was delayed because
Rumsefeld/Cheney/ McCrystal were planning going back into Iraq. The when the go
ahead was given they had the Afgan fighters go in. By that time most of AlQaeda
had slipped in to Pakistan. We should have been in and out of Afganistan and
Pakistanif that is what it took within 18 months and never worried about Iraq
Jonathan Eddy: While I am certain heaven weeps that Bin Laden did not change his
murderous ways before being sent out of this life, I am also certain there is
great relief that his murderous ways are now at an end.In fact, I
kind of have to chuckle because I'm betting the first to meet him were a couple
of Mormon missionaries . . .
Body buried at sea?????If America is great at one thing, its
producing situations that are ripe for conspiracy theories.
The body was buried at sea so as to avoid giving a pilgrimage site for radical
"The U.S. official who disclosed the burial at sea said it would have been
difficult to find a country willing to accept the remains. Obama said the
remains had been handled in accordance with Islamic custom, which requires
speedy burial."Are you kidding me??? We kill a terrorist and
our military have to comply with Islamic custom? And it would be difficult to
find a country willing to accept the remains? Just bring it to the U.S. for
positive ID. We just have to accept Obama and the government's word. Good luck
with that!!! Buried at sea, how convienent.
To you who discount President Obama's responsibility in finding and killing Bin
Laden, I say:Barack Obama is the Commander in Chief of the US
Military. He is directly responsible for any and all military operations. If
something had gone wrong on his watch, you know darn well you all would have
blamed him directly and personally for it! It is disingenuous to withhold credit
for the good he has accomplished.Bin Laden was found and killed by a
CIA special team, aided by Marines. The Director of the CIA - Leon E. Panetta -
was appointed by President Obama, and confirmed by a Democratically controlled
Senate.Panetta reports directly to the Director of National
Intelligence: James R. Clapper, who said,"In my nearly 50 years
in intelligence, never have I seen a more remarkable example of focused
integration, seamless collaboration, and sheer professional magnificence as was
demonstrated by the Intelligence Community in the ultimate demise of Osama bin
Laden....I want to thank the President for his cool, decisive
leadership. The Intelligence Community will never waver in our continued
commitment to protect our citizens, our friends, and our allies."Congratulations, President Barack Obama! You make America proud again!
Remember the good ol days when then senator teddy kennedy used to mix up the
name osama and obama? Ah, they were good times. Now what is osama er, ah,
obama going to do? The war is won? Not by a long shot. quit celebrating and
prepare for more attacks because of our lax immigration policy, and our pc stand
against radical islamists.
It truly is a day to celebrate! A day to celebrate our freedom, our country,
and the hard work and dedication of ALL those who were involved in taking down
this terrorist! The military, the government, and all their friends and
families who have sacrificed so much for those to do their job and finally put
an end to Osama Bin Laden. It truly was a collaborative effort that could only
have been accomplished with many years of hard work on the part of countless
individuals! God bless America!
Andy If ever there were a reason to celebrate the end of a dispicable life,
this is it. This is the same type pf celebration as at the surrender of
Germany, and Japan. This pig is responsible for leading and inspiring the
killing of 1,000's of women and children through out the middle east. He has
justified the death of muslims as collateral damage in his fight to destroy the
Western civilization. You were his enemy and his target. The real
full celebration will come at the death of Osama's ideology. Next target
I'm thrilled that justice has been served to that evil man, but afraid that we
woke a sleeping giant. Remember that them folks over there don't have school or
full time jobs to go to everyday. They wake to plan and scheme death without
even thinking twice. It's ingrained in them to kill to become exalted in the
afterlife. Now is the time where the USA needs to be prepared because I fear
that they'll make 9/11 look like an appetizer with what's to come. May God
A more appropriate burial would have been in a pig sty where such swine belong.
In reading these comments, it is sad to see how many people use this monumental
victory as a reaffirmation of their hatred for the President of the United
States. Give the partisanship a rest for a while. This is a huge victory for our
country.Stop putting your love for the GOP ahead of your love for
Facts: Obama gave the Order as Commander in Chief, He is the President, he is
legitimate and he is a real American. Many people worked to make
this happen. God Bless our troops and our country. If Obama gets the
false blame for the economy, he gets credit for this. BTW, Bush signed the bank
So here is an alternate theory. They find Bin Laden's corpse that was long dead
in some cave, killed by some smart bomb. Hurry quick lets make up a story to
sound cool. Take some tissue samples and then toss his carcass in the ocean.
Look I'm the king of the world says obama. Just saying. lol! Who cares about
customs? They certainly don't care about ours. Bring his butt here, show video
then dump his body somewhere at sea. Then you can avoid the conspiracy theories
like this one. Just a thought.
Bin Laden just got Jimmered.
Here's what I hope. I hope that, at the very end when his compound was being
stormed and he was facing down Americans with guns, I hope bin Laden was afraid.
In memory of the people who were trapped at the top of the towers, above the
crash zone with no hope of escape; for those who chose to jump from the windows
to sure death, for the passengers and crew who took their plane down in
Pennsylvania, knowing they were going to die; for all those people, I hope bin
Laden tasted the fear he made them all feel. And I hope, when he met
his Maker, he experienced overwhelming remorse and shame for the life he chose
and the decisions he made. I hope he realized how very wrong and evil he had
been. And I hope he feels that for a very very long time, until all those who
remember the devastation caused by his actions have a chance to face him
personally in the afterlife.Good-bye Osama. The time of your
reckoning is finally at hand.
The liberal Bill Clinton had his chance, he refused to take it, George W Bush at
least tried, but could not find him in the hills and mountains, now, some 10
years later, it's about time, through water boarding the truth out, Osama bin
Laden, the face of global terrorism and architect of the Sept. 11, 2001,
attacks, was killed in a firefight with elite American forces. Thank God for
that. He's a terrorist. After bin Laden was killed in a raid by U.S. forces in
Pakistan, senior administration officials said the body would be handled
according to Islamic practice and tradition?. Does this mean that now he'll get
his 70 virgins?. "HOGWASH". If I were Obama, I would of demanded his
body to be wrapped in rotten bacon, doused with gas, then burnt in the streets
of NYC, in front of The World Trade Center, then flushed the ashes down the
toilet and let them be washed out to sea that way, because he's a mass murder, a
terrorist, and another Hitler. And if this offended the Muslim's, doing it this
way, to dang bad. That's my true American views.
Good thing president nobama continued the 'war on terror' policies of Bush, eh?
I watched in disgust the cheering, the laughing, the singing, the dancing, the
praises to Allah with the desecration of American soldier's bodies as they were
dragged in the streets by victorious Islamics. I thought to myself, what a
debotched and ruthless people these must be to celebrate in such a horrific
manner. Then I see with the alleged death of Osama Bin Ladin, the
exact manner of celebration with chants of "USA, USA, USA!" here in
our nation. The nation of Islam sees America as the great Satan. Americans see
Islam as the Anti-Christ. Enemy against enemy. I wonder how God is responding to
American jubilation. Can there be two enemies with an equal share of guilt?
Obama got Osama? Good. But gas prices are still going up, housing sells
stagnant, food prices going up, unemployment going up. Hip-hip ...
Very predictable you liberals are... I knew you would try to give all the credit
to Obama. Certainly he deserves SOME credit, but you are not be honest to
yourself if you think Bush had NOTHING to do with it. Bush started it, US
special forces finished it under the direction of Obama. I do not agree with
most of what Obama has done as president, but I will give him credit where
credit is due. Perhaps you could do the same for Bush?
Bin Laden died in December 2001 of kidney failure. But they covered it up so
that they could implement the Patriot Act and TSA to take our rights away. The
CIA patsy Bin Laden has been dead for 10 years but the real masterminds behind
9/11 are still out there. Justice has not been served in the slightest. It
disgusts me even more that people would cheer over something like this. I
wouldn't cheer over the death of my enemies. God takes no pleasure over the
punishment over the wicked.
The government will blow up the sears tower as an excuse to stay in the middle
east. If this were a real terrorist that they killed instead of a CIA trained
patsy, the TSA and Patriot act would be ended immediatley.
I would like to shake the hands of the Navy Seals that were involved in this
attack, especially the one who ended Bin Laden's life.
When they don't abolish the TSA or the Patiriot Act, you will know that the
government was really behind 9/11 and al queda were nothing more than patsies
used by the CIA. When reality sets in that there is no way they will ever get
rid of the Patriot Act or TSA, people will wake up to the fact that only
revolution will be the thing that abolishes them.
Bebyebe, "Bin Laden dead.Bush couldn't, wouldn't,
didn't.Obama did. "Nice try. Bush set everything
in motion to capture this guy. He's the one who came up with the system to
capture the leaders. He created a section of government aimed to beef up
national security. The next president, Obama, just happened be next in line to
continue what Bush started. This kill goes to Bush. When the whole world
mocked him for being aggressive, he started the plan to attack our enemies
before they attack us. Thanks to Bush our country is safer. All Obama cared
about was healthcare and things nationally. Thanks Bush for setting
up a system to catch the criminals and keep us safe!
The US denies sharing knowledge of the strike with Pakistan. Meanwhile, a
senior Pakistani intelligence official said members of Pakistan's intelligence
service, the ISI, were on site in Abbottabad during the operation. Yep, they were on-site alright....guarding OBL while he was hiding next to a
military training facility of three Pakastani regiments.
'Nice try. Bush set everything in motion to capture this guy.' - Striker | 10:32
a.m. And Bush still couldn't do it. You can claim 'Bush
set everything up'... after 9/11, yeah. So, AFTER the
worst terrorist attack in US history, Bush kept us 'safe.' Then,
failed to capture Bin Laden. But Bush 'set up' Obama to do it! Now,
let's look at the comparison: Bush: 9/11 + 8yrs = No Bin Laden. Obama: No 9/11 + 2.5yrs = Bin Laden dead. Don't claim to give
Bush credit for this...after Bush has been out of office for over 2yrs. 'Don't live in the past?' Partisan bickering aside, this is a
great day for our President(s) past and future, military and country.
All of you that say President Obama shouldn't take credit for this are the same
ones that would have blamed him if Bin Laden got away. The President
is the COmmander in Chief, a civilian that is in charge of our military. The
military does not act without his orders.Everyone from soldiers to
intelligence and the President get kudos for this one. The whole country gets
kudos for this one, except you birthers who were distracting the President from
getting Bin Laden with this silly birth certificate craziness.
The same people who say "Bush set everything in motion to capture this
guy" like Striker, also say "Stop blaming the economy on Bush."
The fact is Bush is partly responsible for both the economic crisis and the
capture of Bin Laden. Obama too.
Congrats to our Intel community and many years of painstaking work. Congrats to
our military for their bravery and success. I remember the first time President
Clinton ordered raids directed at Bin Laden in the 1990s. Pak intel tipped him
off and he got away. Then there was 9/11a day we will never forget. Since then
I have hoped for this day. It has taken three U.S. Presidents, many attempts,
numerous interrogations and a daring raid near the capital of a foreign country
to pull this off. I read that part of this is due to a courier we identified
years ago but was only detected last year. So lets not think this is easy
business. I know that both Presidents Bush and Obama have quietly made this a
top priority since 9/11. It is an answer to many people's prayers. America has
been blessed. I hope that we will live worthy of it.
I would just like to remind everyone that even though Obama is President of our
country and leads the armed forces dose not mean he should get all the credit
for getting bin laden. It was a team effort by many agencies in the government
and especially by those individuals who put their lives at risk to make this
happen. Well done one and all.
So this whole time he was in a comfy mansion, not in some cave? GRRRRR
@Pagan-10:47 a.m.Reply: Wrong-again. The liberal Bill-Clinton had
his chance, he refused to take it, George W Bush at least tried, but could not
find him in the hills and mountains, now, some 10 years later, it's about time,
through water boarding the truth out, Osama bin Laden, the face of global
terrorism and architect of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, was killed in a
firefight with elite American forces. Thank God for that. He's a terrorist.
After bin Laden was killed in a raid by U.S. forces in Pakistan, senior
administration officials said the body would be handled according to Islamic
practice and tradition?. Does this mean that now he'll get his 70 virgins?.
"HOGWASH". If I were Obama, I would of demanded his body to be wrapped
in rotten bacon, doused with gas, then burnt in the streets of NYC, in front of
The World Trade Center, then flushed the ashes down the toilet and let them be
washed out to sea that way, because he's a mass murder, a terrorist, and another
Hitler. And if this offended the Muslim's, doing it this way, to dang bad.
There is no body. There was no raid. There was no burial at sea. There was no
I preface that I am not an Obama supporter. But, I'm pretty sure had this raid
gone awry, leaving innocent civilians dead and no al-Qaeda leaders found, then
we would have placed the blame on the President and the CIA.If we're
ready to place the blame, we must be willing to give the credit. On this issue,
"Well done, Mr. President."
Woop Woop! Usama is dead.....This is simply a feel good mental victory. Don't
kid yourselves ....There are many, many other powerful and influential Al Queda
leaders still out there plotting their next attacks-- with or without Usama Bin
Interesting that the news just reported the body was dumped at see and no one
will see it. Did they really get him or was this just one more political
distraction to pump up popularity for the President to start of the election
cycle, or perhaps to distract us from something else going on we are not
supposed to notice?Either way it's strange to me that they dumped
Osama at sea if they really had him in the first place. I think they better
release footage or this will turn into another rumor and conspiracy thing like
those who say 9/11 never happened, we never landed on the moon and Obama was not
born in the US. If they don't prove it the speculation will never
end. And if they claim national security, and not show us the video which they
would have taken with helmet cameras and others we may never know the truth.
Hey, wait just a cotton picking minute!I want to know, "where
have all the patriotic war protesters gone"? Now if we could just find
former mayor, I hate to write it, Ross C. Anderson and all his perpetual peace
mongers. I thought Liberty Park would be full of 20th century
beatniks, incense burning, weeping and wailing, US trashing, flag burnings, drum
beating and on and on and on.I suppose all you progressives were
"against the war before you were for it"?I suppose it
depends on what 'for it, against it', is?
@activ2004Perhaps most of us "progressives" have jobs.
Lots of us "progressives" are veterans who saw enough death and
destruction to last us ten lifetimes.
michaelm - really? Let me guess what your suggestion is. Lets bury him
somewhere all his followers can them come and create a new mecca. And Hitlers gave site - where is that? Do you also believe that just perhaps
Hitler did live out his days in Brazil, and his death was all a hoax.It actually makes me ill that there are so many that choose to twist this into
their own little conspiracy causes. The "ploy" could only work if
there were NO chance he would ever pop up again. But you all have decided to
let you hate of our president so taint your hearts that you would assume this is
just a political ploy. It is really clear that some have have let
politics blacken their hearts so much that they would believe, or should I say
hope the the absolute worst is possible.activ2004 - you are mixing
things here. Osama was not Iraq. Even "progressive liberals" want
justice for terrorist. It is pretty sad that you would think people who don't
vote like you don't care about innocents being murdered or justice for
terrorist.Political hatred! Enough already.
@Pagan 10:47... of course you would blame Bush for 9/11, but let's remember when
that happened he had only been in office for about 9 months. I am sure the 9/11
attack took a LOT more than just 9 months of planning, so lets share credit AND
blame where it is due! This goes back a long, long time and there is more than
just one presidency involved (in the bad blood, the attacks, and the victories).
For once, can't we put the politics aside and just celebrate this American
Quickly buried at sea to honor Muslim law. And photos? I heard there would be
a death mask made, but that could end up coming from anywhere - an old statue,
who knows. I hope some photos are released to the American public. A clean
shot to the head was reported to have been what killed Osama. A clean photo of
him in death is required.
Anti-Bush Obama:Do you have a shred of evidence to back up anything
I have seen enough horrors of abortion and Mr. Obama approved late term
abortions. Teen prostitution (pornography), at the hands of drug lord pimps,
innocent people killed by alcohol and drug abuse and people rotting away because
of sexual disease to last me through the eternities. So please do not
misunderstand a Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom veteran who has pledged his life in
defense of the indefensible regardless of ethnicity, color religion, politics. I
will not be silent and deterred by one man being brought to justice as if this
were the end of the Never-Ending story of good and evil.
'@Pagan 10:47... of course you would blame Bush for 9/11...' - Dogmatic78 | 1:48
p.m. 1) I never said Bush was responsible for 9/11. I said Bush was
PRESIDENT during 9/11. Which is a fact. Even YOU support that. 2) My 10:47
reply was to someone wanting to give credit to Bush for the death of Bin Laden.
2.5yrs after Bush's presidency. 3) You can give no timeframe besides a
'long, long time' to plan 9/11 and 4) Don't claim I'm not trying to put
politics aside... when you start out an a post about 'blame Bush' on
an article about Osama Bin Laden being dead. It is good that a known
terroist is dead and can't harm anyone else. Let's start there.
I vote for not showing the corpse photos or for airing Obama's martyr tape. I
hope the White House doesn't release them, except to 9/11 victim's families if
they request to see them. Showing the photos won't convice the doubters anyway.
Perhaps in a few years we can read/hear about the mission from those who
participated in it.
@ active2004: "I want to know, "where have all the patriotic war

War and the death of Osama bin Laden?I suppose you are a regressive
who is still searching for validation of the Iraq War even with the lack of
weapons of mass destruction and the lack of connection between Osama bin Laden
and Saddam Hussien and were in favor of claiming it was humanitarian until you
were against humanitarian intervention in Libya?Other than
expressing your personal sour grapes about the situation, what does your comment
have to do with anything?
Pagan - Obama still wants to blame everything on Bush so it is only logical that
Bush should have the credit for the killing of bin Laden.
activ2004 - I hear you as I see the horrors of war daily in my current work,
trying to put back together the lives of young men and women who sacrificed much
for this country. I did not serve directly, rather I just put them back
together again. That said, what in the world do any all those other
evils you recite have to do with anything Osama? Does the fact that these other
"evils" continue take away one bit from the triumph of taking down a
man responsible for killing thousands? Should we all raise our hands in defeat
because evil continued today without Osama? No one is asking you to
be silent. Only rational. The fact that you served doesn't give you more
rights than another, nor does it take away either. My family has served in
every conflict this country has been involved in, and we have lost plenty in the
process. I serve by putting those back together whose lives are torn apart.
That doesn't give me more or less rights. Today was a good day for
America, if you can't see it, I feel sorry for you.
I heard Bin Ladin died eight years ago. Where's the body? opps! Who organized
and brought those drunken kids to cheer the killing?
So does that mean we've "won" the war on terror and we can bring our
troops home like he PROMISED? (Before he got us into ANOTHER war in the Middle
East -- Libya).
Good, now maybe we can bring our troops home and spend all that money on
improving the infrastructure. Those were his talking points during the election,
I think it's stupid to see all these politicians patting themselves on the back.
Last time I checked, none of them were the ones risking their lives in
Afghanistan and Iraq. Some of my Democrat friends talk as though Obama himself
picked up a rifle and hunted Bin Laden down personally! Ridiculous! Politicians: first in line to take the credit; last in line to accept the
Why are we still there? Let's bring them home already!
@Anti Bush-ObamaYour ultra-paranoid "Truther" conspiracy
rhetoric is wearing pretty thin, especially right now. Only someone incredibly
naive would believe that the death of Osama bin Laden would be immediately
followed by the repeal of the Patriot Act (those parts that haven't already
"sunset") and the dismantling of the TSA. Al-Qaeda did not instantly
cease to exist with the demise of bin Laden, but it has certainly been dealt a
significant blow by this major accomplishment. "Well done!" to all
involved, both directly and indirectly, and both present and past. There's more
work to be done, and the world is obviously still a dangerous place, but this is
great news.Tell you what, Anti Bush-Obama . . . you go ahead and
continue to don your tinfoil hat and scan the horizon for the black helicopters
and blue-helmeted stormtrooper you no doubt are convinced are coming; meanwhile,
the rest of us will anxiously await for Ayman al-Zawahiri, Anwar al-Awlaki,
Adnan el Shukrijumah, and other top Al-Qaeda leaders to meet bin Laden's fate.
I like Obama's style as Commander-in-Chief.100 un-manned Tomahawk
cruise missiles into Libya = (Zero American deaths).20 Seals - 3
helicopters = Bin Laden dead (Zero American deaths).as opposed to
the Bush Doctrine;10 years + 5,000 American deaths + $1.5 Trillion
dollars = Zero Bin Laden.I think it was a change in the right
Some of these people who put posts on this page, just dont get it.Our president
promised in the campaign of 2008, that if he had the chance to take Usama bin
Ladin out, he would. He Did. You chicken littles can spin the facts anyway you
want to, But you cant change the facts. This president does what he says he will
do. He gave us healthcare, he has turned the failed economy around and we have
created private sector jobs for the last 16 months. He said he would do all of
it, and he has. At least give him credit for doing what he says he would do. Now
you can start your little conspiracy theroies, and stories. The sky is falling!!
Some of you people just dont get it.
Earlier on, someone said "The military killed Bin Laden...Obama didn't do
jack but give approval to pull the trigger."By that logic, Bin
Laden didn't kill anyone on 9/11, right?
Let's look at this logically for a moment shall we. First stating that I, or
others who agree with me, simply would blame Obama for a failed mission are
making a gross blanket statement. I would not blame Obama for the failure of an
op just like I do not blame him for the current economic crisis. Second, stating
that he would make a promise that if he had the chance he would authorize the
hit on Osama is like stating that I will wake up and eat some food or have my
heart pumping or breath. It is a forgone conclusion. To base you praise off of
something that most anyone would have done is poor logic at best. As others have
stated yes Obama gave authorization he should be praised for that. The real
credit goes to the CIA and SEAL Team 6.
The real credit goes to the United States team which was lead by the President.
Giving the credit to the people that shifted the focus from Ben Laden to Iraq,
rewards incompetence as to taking down the people that attacked the United
I didn't like us going into Iraq from day one. My stomach churned as we entered
that war as it was obvious exiting was going to be a problem. I think Bush got
that one wrong.BUT, it was the framework that the Bush
administration created that enabled this to work out. It is kind of like a
basketball team that wins the championship two years after a head coach change,
like UNC did. Does the current coach get the credit for bringing the
championship home. Yes. Did he play the game. No. Did he use players
recruited by the previous coach... absolutely. This situation is the
same. Obama does get the credit for being the head coach at the time of the
victory. He pulled together and led the team. But he also heavily leveraged
players and tactics built upon Bush's work. So some credit is due to Bush as
well. This argument about who gets credit is silly. Grow up people.
We get you hate Obama. But even your worst enemy does things right once in a
while. Patton admired Rommel, even though they were at war with each other.
@Homebrew "He gave us healthcare, he has turned the failed economy around
and we have created private sector jobs for the last 16 months. He said he would
do all of it, and he has."Dude, you need to share what you're
drinking. But seriously, Obama is ten times more dangerous to America
than Osama ever was.
Religion, conspiracy theories, and political hatred by conservatives just shows
me just how gullible people are in Utah and other places!! Amazing to observe!
Say it ain't so, I'm shocked that the polical party in power has suddently not
become so pacifist. Isn't this the same party that holds protest rallies at
prisons when a death sentences is about to happen? Isn't this the same political
party that held protest rallies when Bush invaded Iraq, but why are you now so
quiet when Obama invaded Libya. Where is your pacifism now?
VIC.....some democrats do those things you mentioned, but they hardly represent
the majority of democrats - any more than the extreme groups of
"conservatives" represent the body as a whole of Republicans. But I guess it is a lot easier to brand every either all "A", or all
"B", with no variation in between. Nope, your one or the other. If
you are pro-choice, you must be against a balanced budget as well. Or if you
are for gun rights, well you obviously are against any kind of health coverage
for the elderly. This is just silliness.
I protested the unfunded invasion of Iraq because it made no sense. There was
no reason to spend a Trillion on the guy facebook would have taken out for free
if we did not destabilize the country looking for non existant weapons. The Myth
that conservatives are the only tough guys has been busted. Better spin a new
