I'm really worried about the Monterrey game. I sincerely hope RSL fans get on
and get their tickets the second they open to the public on thursday. I will be
staying up and buying them at midnight.
Champions league is way more important right now than MLS schedule. RSL was
smart in throwing all their resources into that competition. RSL fans know what
it is all about and are showing up big time for the games. Every fan in MLS
wants RSL to win the Champions League. This could be the start of the Champions
League becoming a huge deal to soccer fans in the US. (Although if we can kick
Crapids around along the way that would be great to)
@iRSLfanI wouldn't worry...yesterday James Edward tweeted a quote
from RSL president Bill Manning. Something to the effect of how he would be
shocked if it weren't a sellout before Thursday. In other words, season ticket
holders will likely sell out the match on their own (every season ticket holder
can buy 3x their normal number of seats. The 7k season ticket holders could
theoretically buy 21k seats. Stadium only holds 20.5k).In fact, if
you really want to see this match, I would recommend getting cozy with a season
ticket holder and buying his/her extras. If you wait until Thursday, it looks
like you will be out of luck.
If only the fans would show up in the comments section. Current comments on the
latest Jazz story: 23. Current comments here: 2. We've still got a long way to
go to establishing a strong foot hold in Utah sports. That said, it's
great to have such an impressive club here in Utah. Good luck in the upcoming
RSL is playing very well. There should be another good crowd on Wednesday.
So If the season ticket holders just buy up the stadium, but many of those
tickets don't get used, we have a sell out but the stadium only has 15,000 in
attendance. I don't want Monterray to have a huge presence in the stadium, but
it would be nice to see the stadium full also.
I imagine people might become more and more interested in RSL, especially when
the Jazz are performing so woefully poor.
I really wish I had saved some of the comments from this message board, KSL, and
others from a few years back when people were complaining about the stadium
construction and claiming the team, league, and venue would never find
success. From what I can tell all everything is exceeding
expectations so far and creating a wonderful ride for a great group of coaches,
players, and fans.
I cozied up to my STH friend and got 2 tickets for myself. Don't wait till
Thursday, you might be out of luck. There are some STH's on Twitter posting
available tickets. Do it! We can't let the Mexican club fans have a
significant presence in the RIOT!
@BraveSirRobinWell that's good news for RSL but horrible news for me. I'm
not a season ticket holder. There's eight of us that want to go to this game
and support RSL. I hope there's enough left on thursday/friday at midnight.
Who was the mayor so against the building of this venue, where is he now? just
wondering. He was too short sighted to see the tax base, jobs and revenue this
would generate thank goodness for John Huntsman who vetoed this idot to make RSL
@ThleteWhat are the names of their twitter accounts? My family would
definitely buy some.
I need a couple of tickets too. can you post the names?I grew up in
Tampico which is a town about 350 miles southern from Monterrey. We used to have
a pro Team and the biggest rivlary was against the rayados. I want to see our
RSL beat Monterrey. Let's stop the Nortenos from buy tickets and make our home
field advantage count. Oleeee ole ole ole Reallll Salt Lake!!Go RSL
@JP Don't worry, games like Galaxy, Colorado and Champions final will draw
attention for fans. Soccer is still new to alot of people, the Jazz have
stablished themselves and they have been among us for over 20 years. RSL will
have a solid foundation in the years to come.So far they have exceeded
success expectations, I remember when they presented the project they said to be
profitable they will have to sell at least 12,000 tickets and so many concerts
to back it up. I've missed sevral games because they were sold out, the average
attendance is way over 12,000 and they couldn't have that many concerts because
of the Conca Champions. Thanks Huntsman for being an envision man and allow this
