I've been pulling for the Jazz to get Kyle Irving this draft, but Harris showed
his All Star self today. The best part about Harris is the fact that he actually
played when he didn't have to. Work Ethic. You look at alot of the
players and they seemed to have given up, but this was a great sign tonight from
Harris. If Harris learns to penetrate and kick out to an open.........Hayward?
He could rack up his assists...the Jazz need another 3 point threat.
@AnonigmaI think that Harris is good but I can't see him changing
his game at this point because this is who he's always been. His career average
is 5 assists.He made a lot of 3's today but had 7 TOs. I just don't
think he has the vision of a top PG. He does have that killer instinct to take
advantage of a scoring opportunity but he doesn't run the offense effectively.
Hopefully he'll learn the system better and run thing more
efficiently next year - if he is still here. Who knows what KOC has planned.
Great game Mr. Harris. Hope you can overcome the injury bug that seems to have
plagued you over the pass three years. The Jazz need to send their training
staff to Phoenix to see what they are doing to keep their players in the game.
They must be doing something as Grant, Nash, Stolemeyer, even Shaq came back
from injuries or got fewer injuries playing for the Suns. One thing is for
certain the Jazz had less back injuries when Stockton got them to keep a quality
Chiropractor on the staff, which they let go since John's retirement.Given
the Jazz over the pass several years have lost their best players to injury it
is time to look at this part of the team for an upgrade.
Last night was painful. On some posessions, the team looked like they knew what
they were doing and they got some open looks. On other posessions, they'd make
a pass then stand around waiting for that player to create something off the
dribble. Sometimes that worked, most of the time it didn't.Interior
passing was sporatic, at best. With Al, Paul, and Derrick, this team should
have a strong inside presence. One games doesn't make or break anything but I'm
concerned about the Jazz inside game. It's be interesting to see the stats from
the game to look for assists in the paint. At this point, I'm as
excited to watch New Jersey loose as I am the Jazz play. We have NJ's draft
pick as well as our own. It's sad that the most exciting thing these days is to
watch the younger Jazz players potential and the possibilities in the draft.
Good luck, Coach Corbin. Here's to next year being terrific.
Players looked like they gave up out there, only Harris and Favors played hard I
thought. The execution offensively was horrendous, but at this point I don't
really care that much. I just want the rookies to get better, Hayward missed
some shots but got the free throw line. I would hate to be a guard on this
team...all they get to do is pass it to an undersized PF and a C who holds the
ball for 10 seconds before making a move. I think they need to use Hayward's
ability to create shots for others a bit more but instead he just catches it and
passes it into the post...he looked bored out there tonight.
I believe in Devin Harris. At least for next season. lets focus on this draft
and find our way to get harrison barnes if he goes to the draft. If he ends up
going back to school, then derrick williams, and if we cant get him, perry
The thing about last night that was awful was watching veterans play so many
minutes and players like Favos, Evans and Weaver watching like us. Why play the
Vet's so many minutes when this season is lost? When are you going to get
minutes for the young guys? Aren't we going to rely on the young ones to fill a
need next year? Where will they get minutes this summer? This Sloan mentality is
still here apparently. What does a win do for us now? I'm confused as to what
your plan is Ty.
@IndyYeah I think I might be getting too excited about 1 game, but
there's potential there. You have to remember, he's been with an awful coached
team the past 3-4 years and that he hasn't had time to develop chemistry. What I saw last night was a solid shot, the ability to penetrate through
defense at will, a killer cross over, and passing ability. It's raw, it's
there, it just needs to be coached. The work ethic is the best part.
It's pretty rare in this league nowadays to have that type of mentality. In other words, I'm saying that Jazz should just get the best player
available instead of filling the need for a pass first PG. Maybe next year, if
things don't go well, use that great GS pick to get a PG.
Harris when healthy and motivated (he obv gave up in NJ, who can blame him) is
prolly the 7th-9th best PG in the league and has a very reasonable contract.
Watson is a fine backup, and Weaver & Hayward can hadle the ball. Buh-bye
Ronnie P, love ya, but business is business. If the Jazz do wind up
with the top pick they should probably trade it to a team with a top five pick
who's convinced Irving is the next Rose and is willing to overpay. As
great as Rose is, they have a lot more than him, and so did Isiah Thomas when he
got his rings. How many playoff series has CP3 won again? The Jazz
need tall, athletic, hardnosed, great shooting young players that will bond with
Favors/Hayward/Evans, not more PG drama.
some people still blame "sloan's mentality" for what ails this team.
it's been 2 months since he was gone. it's corbin's team now. he's not doing a
good job coaching. and the players don't want to run plays or give hard screens.
no one is cutting hard also. the bigs don't defend. enough of sloan-blaming.
he's gone. stop blaming him for what the jazz's stinky play and bad coaching is
@Indy05i agree with you...I really dont think harris is the key at
PG...i'd trade him for Eric Bledsoe and DeAndre Jordan...or someone who would be
willing to move the ball and not look to score...@josembthe reason why they blame it to "sloan's mentality" its because
corbin was one of his understudy...he was an apprentice...but corbin plays
matchups...and would at least give him one full year to prove himself...they can
always fire him at the end of next season...I hope we could trade
harris...for a team that needs a PG...the only team i could think of right now
is the Lakers...probably minnesota...why not trade Bell and Harris...for the
rights of Ricky Rubio or Flynn and Wesley Johnson...
