Phil has a good system but has even better players. When most of your career
you coach the best 2 players in the game, you will have rings on your finger.
As they say, being in the right place at the right time is better than being
Prior to Phil going to Chicago Jordan owned 2 scoring championships but no team
rings. Phil fixed that and he fixed the Lakers when Kobe and Shaq could not win
in LA prior to him arriving on the scene. He has had talent on his
teams but nobody should argue he knows what to do with it.Phil runs
the triangle offense designed in 1965 which is older than the offense Sloan used
to run. Opponents know it is coming but are not always able to handle it.Phil has been a constant in the NBA for a long time and the league will
miss him. Perhaps the league will get better without him...but I don't see that
You say......you can't really blame him when he's been at the top of his
profession as often as he has. Jackson has won more titles than anyone in NBA
history with 11, and a 12th is looking more likely as the season progresses.Well Jackson has had a knack of getting with the top teams in the NBA
and surrounding him self with the top players.....Let him go coach
the Washington wizards... That will tell us if he is a coach
Phil has been a thorn in the side of every NBA team except the one he is
I won't miss Phil when he retires from the NBA any more than I would have missed
Kobe had he gone to jail a few years ago.
@CJ Mileswell...goes to show again your lack of knowledge...as
DOUG10 pointed out Jackson fixed both Bulls and Lakers teams...although they
have the star power to win it all...if they dont have the right coach...they
wont win it...when Phil took control of the Bulls...they were just a playoff
team...then they became champions...when he took control of the lakers...who
were just a playoff team...under dell harris kurt rambis...rudy T...et al...they
became champions...if you couldnt see that...well...i'll still continue to read
your posts...because they humor me...
@Southern Utah Fanhe wouldnt probably coach them knowing the talent
that they have...i think one coach...that could coach them to the
playoffs...would be nate mcmillan....although Phil has the players to win...how
come the coaches that he replaced didnt? im just giving credit where credit is
due...instead of saying if phil coached the wizards...how bout...when the jazz
went to the playoffs...if phil were our coach...do you think he would win
against the Bulls?
