This offense needs more time to jell. The very poor start was a problem. Not
having Favors was a problem. Bell played okay but CJ was hot and maybe should
have gotten more minutes (in spite of fouls). Hayward also could have played
more as he rebounded well and also played pretty good D.The Jazz
lost it when KMart matched up with AK at PF. It may have been better to move CJ
to SG and AK to SF(with Millsap at PF). Corbin wanted to keep both AK and CJ in.
It is a difficult call because Felton/Lawson are so fast (they were playing
together at that time). At the end CJ could have stretched the floor
and helped close. Corbin is still feeling his way on closing. However, better defense in Q1 would have made a big difference. The Jazz played good D most of the 3rd and most of the 4th. The offense
folded in the last 7 possessions. Time to move on.
That was a very good game.. I am just happy the Nuggets came out on top, Tough
luck jazz fanzz.
hey... another "moral victory" notched by the jazz. woohooooo! ty
corbin was pretty pleased with the team's play. that's great. there are still
lots of moral victories to be won. we're on track to win the title on that
category. i wonder how many moral victories it'll take to get corbin mad at how
his team play? or maybe he just doesn't have a clue as to how the jazz should
execute when the game is on the line.
kenyon martin hit the ball while standing out of bounds! that's why AK fumbled
it.....if anything, we should have gotten the ball back with .5 on the clock and
a chance to tie!! i can't believe no one saw that, or nobody said anything
It was a mistake to pull AK. He can keep up with either Felton or Lawson as
well as Bell. Bell's play was, predictably, horrible down the stretch. Also, on the last play of the game when Martin knocked the ball loose,
just barely, from AK, he likely was standing out of bounds. No way that he
could have established both his feet inbounds quickly enough AND knocked the
ball loose. Probably should have been the Jazz's ball underneath the basket.
But, still would have been tough to score on that.
Great hustle by AK. It was devastating when it didn't go it, but I'm impressed
he got a shot at it. I'm pretty frustrated with Bell. I usually try
to stay optomistic, but our 2 guards are awful. Hayward is continually showing
improvement, but he's no Wes Matthews (but I think when he's 23 he'll be better
than Wes was at 23.)Somehow in the past month the Mavericks signed
Peja for $700,000. All sorts of 2's are being waved right now, why not try and
find someone who can hit an open 3? Azubuike isn't fantastic, but I'd rather
see him take that shot then Bell.
I was impressed with the way both CJ and Hayward were playing, one of the two
should have been in to close out the game instead of Bell.
Bell is horrible. I like Bell as a person, but lets keep it real, the guy is a
step slower than anyone he guards and he has been chewed up all season long. His
defense used to be decent and was what he was known for, but know he is a
liability on both ends of the court. A starting shooting guard needs to give you
more than 8 pts and 1.5 assist per game.CJ needs to start at the 2 guard.
This season is about over with, lets see the next generation of Jazz players get
a chance to develop. Bell-34 years old..washed up! sorry, the truth
As usual, giving up over 100 points a game.Corbin took Fesenko out
and he was the only thing stopping the parade to the basket.Jefferson and Millsap couldn't stop my grandmother in the paint.Every opponent has the same plan. Run pick n roll against Jefferson or
Millsap who both won't show and make the guard bump out to let our PG recover.
Then their guard dribbles down the middle for a layup or kicks it out for a wide
open three point shot.Rinse. Repeat.I have already
heard the danger signs "Corbin is tweaking the offense to allow a little
more freedom". Translation? Selfish play, isolations, one-on-one, and
license to jack up bad shots. The results speak for themselves. This team is quickly becoming just another re-tread of the other 25 or
so pathetic franchises in the NBA.Wonder how long Corbins multi-year
contract will last with a .166 winning percentage?I have been
watching since the late 80's but I am close to have seen enough of this failed
experiment. This team is years away from being anything but a speed
bump in the 1st round of the playoffs.
Just a couple of things here. 1 you have 2 point guards in the game for Denver.
We have a 6'3" point and a 6'4" 2 guard. How many times did we post up
either of thoses guys. 2 down the stretch our whole offense was clear out for
AJ. What about PM. And please keep Hayward in the game the kids a baller. He
plays good D,and is a good rebounder. CJ show up for more than 1 game in every 5
please we need u. Denver got one heck of a deal with New York. We will have to
wait to see how the Jazz did because we have to wait for draft choice. to
@Jazz-Nation- it hurts even more when you realize we signed him to a 3 year deal
:( Atleast he's not getting paid more than CJ.
Utah should have had the ball out of bounds with about .8 seconds left after
Martin hit it from out of bounds.... I'm not surprised though that they missed
it.. as a bball ref myself, its so tough to see something like that when you
think the game is all but over and crazy stuff happens. Well at least the
Jazz have been watchable the last couple games.. Lets get a win tomorrow fellas!
As I have mentioned before, I am not the biggest Jazz fan but I do like when the
home team wins. With that said, here is what I see with the Jazz. The
Jazz are so system oriented to a fault sometimes. A couple of games ago, Al
Jefferson was on fire and killing whoever was guarding him on the low block.
Instead of riding him, they let their sets take away from what could have been a
huge lead.I am all for set offense..You don't win without it but
when a player has a mismatch and is hot from the floor, feed him the basketball.
Let him go until the other team figures out a way to stop him.Miami,
with James and Wade are real good at this. Last night James could not miss and
he had something like 9 straight possessions where he touched the ball or the
offensive sets ran through him.
Jazz Source has it right...this team is broken...who looses 7 straight at
home...not even bad teams loose 7 straight at home...you can make all the
excuses you want...new coach, new players...blah blah blah...at the end of the
day you have an average backcourt and not one player that is even close to being
able to take over a game with his ability..not one player thats even close to
star status....and you need at least 2 players like that to compete at this
level...perhaps even worse is the body language of this team..they are a
defeated group..i was at the game in detroit sitting right behind the jazz
bench...during time outs all fesenko does is watch the dancers and the silly
little promotions that go on to entertain the fans...maybe he should pay
attention to what is being taught by the coach during these time outs..
Welcome to life without a star PG who can get the team to execute down the
stretch. You take it for granted when you have it but this team is a
gigantic discombobulated mess without it.No interieor defense
either. Bell is a bust--good thing we did not pay that much
relatively speaking. We should waive/release him at this point and move on. I
was a big Bell fan but I just can't believe how poor he has played and shot the
ball. I could forgive some of his pathetic defense if he was filling it up from
outside and stretching the floor but he is terribly inconsitent.Unfortunately CJ is only slightly better overall. CJ's defense is pathetic
and he can score about once every 5 games. He a lot of talent but his own
eog-induced constant focus on shooting blocks out his own ability to
consistently play all aspects of the game.
i cant understand why raja bell still starts !! he is now a b teasm player !!cj is no kobe but with minutes he can add value wit points whereas raja cant
and he is suppose to be a asset on defense but he cant stop anyone huh???start AJMILLSAPAK47CJ HARRIS
Just one thing to say.......AK get in the weight room. You can't even hold on
to the ball with no one on you. Martin touched the ball with his pinky and you
fumbled the tying shot while time ran out. All you had to do is one step and
dunk the ball instead you acted like there was 5 seconds left and hop-scotched
towards the basket while fumbling it in your hands. Horrible play but a
I agree with the posters who noticed the impact that Fesenko had on stopping the
parade to the basket. He should have played more minutes in this one cause we
had Denver on the ropes with him in there. I am suprised that the coaching staff
has already forgotten the playoff series with Denver last year when Fesenko was
very instrumental in slowing down Nene and stopping the guards from penetrating
the paint. Fesenko's defense in the paint led to our eventual victory in the
series. Remember Ty Lawson laying flat on his back looking up at the scoreboard
after Fesenko stopped his layup attempt.Jefferson and Milsap need
Fesenko in the rotation to reset the defensive tone down in the paint when they
let it get out of control. Favors will help us alot too in that regard along
with the other assests he brings with his game.Maybe we should bust
up the Jefferson, Milsap combo and pair Jefferson with Favors to start, then
Milsap with Fesenko off the bench depending on match ups. This solution would
solve some defensive problems that are killing us as of late.Yes the
officiating was a total joke last night.
@JK- Jefferson is becoming a star@Fesenko lovers, specifically Chuck
Nunn"during time outs all fesenko does is watch the dancers and
the silly little promotions that go on to entertain the fans...maybe he should
pay attention to what is being taught by the coach during these time
outs.."Just wanted to repeat what JK said. This is why I think
Fesenko will NEVER be what you see in him.@CJ Miles- AK gained 20
lbs two summers ago and he has kept the muscle on. It was not a horrible play,
it was a fantastic play. Can't believe he even had a chance (he should have
made it, but 99% of the players in the league don't get a chance to take that
As I have stated before I am sick of C.J. blowing the other C.J.'s horn. Now
down to facts. This Jazz team in the next season or two are going to be
fantastic! We can trade with the draft picks, take the picks, and a few players
with expiring contracts won't be here then. I can't wait because of the youth on
this team Favors, Hayward, and Evans coupled with players that will still be
very quality and young like Harris, Jefferson, and Milsap only confirm that the
future looks awful good for the Jazz. One thing further and that is that I
personnally think Tyrone Corbin will be one of the best coaches in the NBA very
soon! I know that everyone won't agree with me on this but just remember a year
from now what was said! I kind of hope we miss the playoffs this year also, so
that we will get another lottery pick to do something with. A 7 or 8 seed is
only going to extend the season for a week or so anyway with a ist round loss.
JFFR........ Were you watching the game? A fantastic play by AK? AK is
standing there and Martin hands him the ball. It's not like AK took the ball
away from him. Martin handed him the ball. All he had to do was grab it, take
one step and dunk it. Instead he acted like it was a hot potato and fumbled
around. 99% of the players in the league would have sent the game
to overtime. The 1% (AK) head to the locker room. Game over.
Anybody else notice that Harris beats everyone down the court and has to wait
there to let everyone else catch up! The Jazz could be getting some serious fast
break points if they had anyone that could keep up with him.
I think we have serious coaching flaws...Why is Bell playing? CJ fumbled a
pass, Millsap missed a dunk....Corbin took out Jefferson and Kirilenko for about
4 minutes, when we were up by 6, then the roof caved in on us. I think Watson
should be on the floor at all times...This team is much better with Harris and
Watson together...just a thought. It is really disappointing to lose in a
winnable game. Sloan would have pulled this one out, so would have Williams.I do not think we have a star, other than Jefferson. I wish he had a
reliablejump shot...Millsap is almost automatic when he shoots.
@C.J. Miles. Wrong. Martin hit the ball after AK grabbed it. THen he tried to
recoup then score. He thought he had less time, didn't work out. To say he sucks
is narrowminded and ignorant. We could all get on C.J. fumbles throughout the
game even considering his scoring. Also, C.J. has one game out of five all the
time that are good. AK has been consisten last bit. Anway w/e
miles,I`m sure cj would have made that shot...right,AK never really had
possesion, easy to blast him now,but I`d take AK with the ball over cj
anytime, btw, how many games has cj won at the buzzer, that`s what I thought
Hey what has happened to Kirilenko? I notice the old Russian is finally doing
well.I think all the cancer has been removed from the team, Williams
leaving might help...
Houdini of course you would take AK the 17 million dollar wonder over CJ. It's
clear now that you work for the postal service where they spend but never
I need some one with creditable credentials to tell me why Fes is not getting
more PT and I don't mean someone blowing off some steam. The way I saw it was
that it only took the Nugs 2 possessions before they started driving into the
paint. I seriously don't get it. PLEASE HELP
I think the reason that Fes does not play is because:Fes doesn't
even understand the simple offensive setsFes is out of position most
of the time on the court.Fes doesn't work hard during practice or
between games to get better.Fes doesn't listen
wow Old Timer. i admire your optimism. lol. ty corbin becoming one of the best
coaches in the NBA soon. wow. and more wow. of course he wil be one of the best.
from other coaches' standpoint, that is. who wouldn't want him to be coaching
the jazz when their teams can beat up on the jazz all the time. lol
@CJ Miles...you are one funny guy...give the guy a break...he made
the play...you don't see CJ doing the same thing...being a clutch defender...he
could have made it...but let's not cry over spilled milk...its already over...a
loss is a loss...the team lost the game...@josembyou
sure dont get it...i know its not an excuse to count that he is just a newbie at
the job...and he is still adjusting...figuring out the team...heck Jerry Sloan
was not great when he first coached the Bulls...he was 30-52 when he started
coaching...take note of that...and on his last season with the bulls he was
19-31 then he got fired and landed the job at utah...know your history before
bashing coaches...give him time...not everyone is like Phil Jackson...everyone
stumbles in their first step...don't go high and mighty and being a know it
all...till you have looked into some of the good coaches' first year
Miles: I can't believe your criticising AK for that play at the end of the game,
if you watched it you know Martin hit the ball and caused AK to lose control, he
didn't just fumble the ball. At least he was alert enough to come up with it in
the first place.
I see that D-Will finally got a win in NJ. Don't forget that this losing streak
got started under D-Will and Sloan. I don't think Corbin is an improvement over
Sloan, but we weren't going anywhere with D-Will, and now we have a lot of hope
as we fill the roster with lottery picks who are only getting better. Look at
our weak spots now. We can get rid of those weaknesses and make them strengths
by drafting the right players or trading away all our picks for proven talent.
The Jazz, for the first time in a long while, look to be stronger in the near
future. We might miss the playoffs this year and get another lottery pick, but
I think Jazz fans wouldn't be satisfied with a first round elimination anyway.
Did I see someone say the Jazz will be a speed bump in the first round of the
playoffs for years to come? THE PLAYOFFS! You can't be serious about the
playoffs. The Spazz's playoff run is over...
