This team was going nowhere. He knew it, management knew it.
the Jazz may as well make the deal, it's what Deron wants and it's something
that could help the Jazz down the road. It's much easier to find a quality pg
vs a quality big so it's worth the risk on Cousins.Love Deron, he's been
good to the community but the way the deal with Jerry went down he's not ever
going to be as beloved as he could've.
What the ?????Jazz just became the Timberwolves.
Too bad that he just couldn't like UTAH!30 % of Basketball is Attitude,
and Deronjust did not have a good attitude! He will fade into no mans
land at New Jersey!
Seriously, Jazz are basically going for a lottery pick at this point. Way to
throw in the season. We get virtually nothing for D. Will....
No! Say it ain't so!
This is a done deal as of now, 9:34 am
I love it! Harris can ball and Favors is Money! We get 2 first round picks as
well. Lets get Sullinger and Fredette!
Didn't see that coming now did ya Todd? Maybe KOC works the phones after all.
Now we will see how much Williams was a product of the system or one of the
league's best PG. I believe is just another product of the system. He'll
continue is slide to an average PG in the league. Good luck playing in the East
Great trade for the Jazz. D-Will was done here.
DNews on top of this one.... not. Trib and ESPN report that the deal is
done.Wow! That's gonna help the Jazz with outside shooting.
Plxy... it's Derrick Favors. Cousins is not in this deal.
Not a bad deal for the Jazz. I'm okay with it.
Here we go back into full rebuilding mode. Who's next AK? I Can't fault the Jazz
for changing the direction of the team, they weren't going to win a championship
anyway and Deron wasn't going to be happy with anything less. Hopefully the
people the Jazz pick up have the drive to win like Deron did. Otherwise, the
Jazz lose in the deal.
Deron Williams is much better than Devin Harri, there's no debate there. But
Devin Harris, Derick Favors and two 1st round picks from a lowly Nets team is
much better than only one an half years of Deron Williams on the team. Let's
face it, he wasn't sticking around especially with all the stars joining forces.
Wow! First Sloan, then Williams. Those were the only two guys holding this thing
together year after year. I'm not sure what they're thinking. Did everyone
notice that once Deron quit and then got hurt (in more ways than one) that the
Jazz suddenly lost 14 of 17 games? Deron is a rare player. He's a winner and
that is more than just skill. I'm very afraid of what will happen. We've been
spoiled. Heaven forbid we become the Timberwolves. Sorry Al.
I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
one year with the nets, one off season to see if prokorov can bring anyone in
and if not then he's gone. well played deron. can't wait until you come back
to utah. us jazz fans have been known to harbor grudges.
There's so much we don't know, but all I can say is that if this is true, there
is so much more to the Jerry Sloan story than we know. The Jazz are great are
keeping things tight lipped, but actions speak louder than words. If
Deron is that much of a problem that they would trade him, they could at least
make a better trade. Two first round picks are risky. At the same time, it's no
secret that the Jazz need to rebuild in order to become competitive.
Williams is a great player but isn't the leader Utah needs. He's shown that
this season; great numbers but no leadership. Now to convince Sloan
to return...this trade is 3 weeks too late...
Is the Concord jet still flying? Let's get him on it so he is out of here as
fast as possible.D Williams is a joke and a marginal player at
This has to be the most ill-advised trade in Jazz history. Williams is a
premier, young guard. Devin Harris has already peaked and will not put up
numbers as Williams did. O'Connor, you should be the one that resigns now,
before you are run out of Utah for good.
Good Ridence!DeRon is a problem!
Dumb dumb dumb if you ask me.. Oh and fradette is a great guy, that everyone
likes in Utah, but as a pro, he might struggle.. Get rid of Kevin o
This has huge upside. Watson is playing well, adding Favors and Harris is huge.
Will Kirilenko stay? Doesn't matter much now that we're better positioned with
picks and players.Hopefully O'Connor got humbled and can convince
Sloan to come back.
I was kind of shocked to hear williams leaving so soon but nonetheless it seemed
like he wanted to go. I think that Devin Harris and Derrick Favors will come in
and be good additions to the team. Hopefully we can start winning again and make
the playoffs. That would be nice.
I love this! I never would've wanted this to happen pre-Sloan retirement, but
with DWills attitude and blantant disregard for what Sloan wanted him to do, I
love this move. No better way to let the players know it won't be tolerated
This is Awesome, I'm actually excited about basketball again. DWill had too much
control, he was unhappy and it's been showing in his game lately. He has been
schooled by Westbrook, Rose, and Nash twice in the last few weeks. Nash is like
48 years old, and he took DWill to the woopin shed 2 games in a row. Favors is what makes this deal good, now Milsap can come off the bench, where
he's best. They'll get 2 good first round picks in the draft, good move Jazz.
Worst trade in Jazz history. I no longer support the franchise nor anything that
it does. Kevin OConnor is horrible.
Honestly, all I care about is the fact that I'm a Mom of a 7 year old boy who
LOVES the Jazz because of D-Will. Now I have to comfort a 7 year old who is
going to be crushed. Yes I understand the Jazz's reasoning. And yes I
understand that this is the way the business works. And I get that the Jazz are
okay with killing the team this year for the future. But, I'm still going to
have to explain it all to a very sad 7 year old. And that, I'm not happy about!
This Is Wonderful News....DeRon is Gone!DeRon Is Gone!Hooray!
ahh really?Jazz are doing not too great As it is,wish Deronwillams and his
family well and more Success :)
Nobody wins a championship with their best player as point guard.Deron has lead this team exactly no-where with his mutiny and "my
way" before the coaches attitude.I guess now we know what the
organization thought about how it went down with Deron and Sloan.Evidently they did not believe his attitude was taking them anywhere.
It makes me wonder if Sloan would have stuck around if he knew this was coming
Big mistake, Williams is the Jazz. Without him this Team goes nowhere for many
years to come. The Jazz will never keep star players,if they don't find away to
surround Williams with talented players. Good luck Derron, what ever happens. If
the Jazz let you get away they have let the best point guard in the NBA go.
Larry is turning over in his grave!!
interesting - just like Boozer wanting to move on - goodbye Mr. Will if that is
what you want after final year 2011-12. Go ahead and do the trade.
I'm just glad they are getting "some" value for DWill. Otherwise he'd
leave soon and the Jazz would get nothing in exchange. The players are not a
big deal to me, but he picks could be! I hope the Jazz do their homework and
make the most of them. I also believe the Jazz fans will feel better
about what's on the court. I'd rather have several "50 watt bulbs"
burning at 50 watts, than a "100 watt bulb" burning at 50 watts!
DWill was not giving the organization his best. I'm okay with the Jazz coming
up short as long as they play hard and give their best! Lately, they've been
loosing because of a lack of effort!Time will tell!
Jazz- Dumping talent since 1979.
Is there any way we can throw in CJ as well? If we are going to blow up the team
lets also get ride of all the people with a "go it alone" attitude. We may as well throw AK in as well just to get ride of the bad contract.
He will not resign for the 5 - 6 million that he is worth.Lets
really start over and do this right.
The Jazz just got a double D upgrade
Seems like Larry will have the last laugh here.Millers did not like
what happened to their coach, and this speaks volumes.the team will
be hurt but Deron may like it in deep dark Siberia New Jersey...not
Love it! Harris is still young, he should thrive with the Jazz. Favors is
supposed to be a star on the rise and two picks to get lucky and get a star.
All for a player who didn't want to be here.
we got robbed
I am not a huge Jazz fan but as a fan of the NBA, this trade is great for the
Jazz. Deron Williams would have bailed on the Jazz anyway and the Jazz brass
just protected themselves. The Jazz traded away 20 and 10 for 15 and
8..basically a wash. They also picked up Derick Favors; a young and athletic
6'10", 250 big man with incredible upside. The kid was the ACC player of
the year as a Freshman. You throw in the $3 million in cash and the
two first round draft picks and this was a GREAT trade for the Jazz. This might
allow them to salvage what is left of this year.Personally, I hope
this was a result of Deron Williams shooting his mouth of to a Hall of Fame
Coach and costing an organization a 23 year veteran. I hope this was a
back-handed attempt to show a player that he is not bigger than the league or
the organization he represents. Kevin O'Connor showed me something..
Dr. TruthNo they hold AK's contract though the end of the season,
that holds salary cap space to rebuild with next year. Can't say that
I am not disappointed. I enjoyed watching Williams. Maybe a change in scenery
will do everyone a bit of good. It will be interesting to see what first round
picks they end up with, and what Utah will do with their glut of power forwards.
I can't imagine any of those guys playing the 3 next year.
The Jazz will now have 3 power forwards on the team. That makes a lot of
sense. However I like the idea of Favors starting and Millsap coming
off the bench.I don't like the move but I don't think the Jazz had a
choice and now they save a ton of money on luxury tax.Harris is a
good point guard. Not even close to Dwill but Dwill quit on this team. You can't win in the NBA without superstars on your team. Now the Jazz have
zero. But I like the idea of building a team around someone other than the
point guard.Dwill was gone after next year any ways.........The Jazz
did this to save money NOW
I guess my only question is why didn't management let Sloan suspend the 10th
best PG in the league when he wanted to??? We could've ripped that band aid
off, shipped Mr. Tattoos back east where he can fade into oblivion behind
Derrick Rose and Rajon Rondo and let Sloan get back to doing what he had done
for 23 years - being the glue that held the franchise together.I
wonder if Ty Corbin is second guessing his decision to take the wheel of this
bus going into the ditch, and fast.
I am a jazz fan from canada and will be in detroit for the game on
saturday...guess i'll get the first live look at the new look jazz.....still don't think we got enough value...favors better become a star!!!
Say what you want, for efficiency rating Deron Williams +23.55, Favors +8.80 and
Harris +15.83. Favors and Harris add up to the efficiency of one player.
To Kevin OC, maybe the math adds up but you can only have 5 players on the
court. You've gutted the team from great talent. What a shame. As a season
ticket holder I am extremely disappointed on the direction of the Utah Jazz.
I'd love to see CJ included as well for a draft pick or some other young player.
I'd like to keep AK and resign him even if it is for as much as $8 million.
All these young players are going to need some veterans to show them how the
game is supposed to be played, I can't imagine two better vets for that role
then AK and Bell.
how can anyone be happy about this trade? this is just awful. You all are
saying that dwill had attitude problems? is he supposed to be happy that the
jazz have been playing awful the last two months? hes even blaming himself that
he hasnt played very well lately. this is a terrible move, Harris is nowhere
near as good. Why dont we just trade dwill for cp3, at least get another all
star out of this. Sorry Jefferson, but you are truly bad luck to whatever team
you play for. I still love deron, but this franchise is doomed. go thunder!
Lets just be honest.Deron is an incredible talent and fun to watch.
He also has a bad attitude and has led this team exactly
no-where.All he did was run his own stuff/plays and run off a hall
of fame coach and lead his team to a lousy record this season. He is
supposedly the best PG in the league and yet he can't LEAD his team to better
than an 8 seed? Tha about sums it up.Brutal nonetheless
and shocking for sure but when was the last team that won a championship with
their best player as a PG?Not happening.NBA
championships belong to teams with good BIGs.I don't think we are
done trading either. Derrick Favors plays the same position as Al Jefferson,
and Paul Millsap.....Uh-oh.
Good bye & Good riddance!I'd rather have a team of "No
Names" that work their behinds off, then a PrimaDonna who is not a real
teammate, and expects it all to be handed to him.See ya. Don't let
the door hit you in the back on your way out to NEW JERSEY!!!
The only negative I see to this trade is that CJ wasn't packaged in the deal.
So what if this is possible--after the Bulls game Sloan was told that they were
going to trade Deron and he didn't like it. He told them as coach of the team
that he wanted Deron to stay in spite of the arguments they had. KOC and/or
Greg said no dice. So Sloan walked because of the lack of respect for his
opinion. It certainly explains why Sloan would quit in the middle of it all.
Maybe instead of being fed up with the prima donna it was the management. Just
a crazy hypothesis.
i just saw that golden state was thrown in this trade as well...so why didnt we
try to get Stephen Curry or Monta Ellis, theyre both clearly better than devin
A true committed competitor wouldn't give up on his team. (Stockton's are rare)
I haven't enjoyed watching the chemistry collapse these last 17 games. I've
been way disappointed in DWill's change in performance. The trade will be
better for the JAZZ. One player does not a team make, unless you're the
Cavs. What is it with these guys that think....I'm an All-Star thus I
know better than the coaches and my team mates. Attitude is the foundation of a
You almost never benefit by giving up the best player in the deal. Sounds iffy
to me. Still, probably make Jazz better 2 years down the road (when they
wouldn't have DWill), but two seasons is a lot of basketball.Maybe
the new guys fit in and the Jazz actually get better. Ewing effect anyone?
Teams that trade superstars wind up in the lottery.
Love to see DWill play. But great attitudes and team chemestry win tough games
and championships.I think Deron would have worked out of the current
team melt down, but a major change could be better for everyone.
Wow! The Jazz really threw in the towel on this season. This says
one of two thing: Either the Jazz would rather take the risk to be good in the
future than be mediocre now, or, that they are more concerned about the luxury
tax than winning. Favors could be a star though. Harris is decent
and New Jersey's pick should be in the top 10. It could end up being a great
move 2 years down the road, but I'm not a fan of it right now. Let's
hope Golden State is really bad next year. I hope it's not protected very well.
Farewell, Coach Sloan!!Good riddence, D-Will!!!The old
saying goes that "Revenge is best served cold." Ahhhhh.... Jerry must
be SMILING out there on his John Deere this morning!!
It appears ,by the looks of this trade that Jazz management figured that D-Will
was not going to stick around once his contract expired, and if indeed that was
the case, then the Jazz made as good of trade as was possible for the time they
had. I loved DWill;I thought he was the best point guard in the league along
with many top analysts early in the season.Unfortunately, the relationship
between him and the Jazz got beyond repair.I wish DWill the best and I hope that
the 19 year-old Favors can help the Jazz inside the paint where they desperately
need another quality big man.It appears that Harris was not liking New Jersey
too much,so the Nets let him go.For the Jazz fans who are disappointed, this
trade was much better fgor the Jazz' future than keeping a disguntled Williams
around for another year. Please rethink yourselves when you say that you're not
watching the Jazz again.Anyone can be a fairweather fan.
as much as I like D-Will as a player, I really like this trade. The Jazz get
rid of D-Will now and avoid the circus that would be next year. We get a young
big guy (that we wanted in the draft) and an experienced point guard, plus draft
picks and money. This is a win win win for the Jazz. D-Will is a great player,
but the team as a whole is in a much better spot with this line up. Good luck D-Will in Jersey/Brooklyn. Jive Jay Z my regards
First impression: I Love The Trade.Serious folks - D will would be
LEAVING at the end of next year. (just look at his face, he wanted out). DH can
ball! and DF is a future 14/10 guy! Plus, a couple of First round draft picks!
Jazz management should be appaluded.
To those who think the Jazz got "nothing" for Williams: take a deep
breath, the sky is not falling. This appears to actually be a good
deal for the Jazz. Williams wasn't sticking around anyway. He hates
Utah and has told friends he wants to go to New York to play with Stoudemire.
d'Antoni's no defense, all offense style suits Williams game. Dallas
has been trying to reaquire Devin Harris, a quality point guard. Although he may
not have as strong an upside Derron does, he doesn't have Derron's DOWNSIDE
either. Harris won't pout and destroy his team with his prima donna attitude.
Williams liked offense -- particular things that stuff stat sheets
-- but lets small guards blow by him at will, putting Jazz bigs in foul trouble
or letting opposing bigs get easy buckets. And Derrik Favors has a
tremendous amount of promise, not to mention size (6'10"). For
all the Jazz fans that HOWLED about drafting Hayward instead of size, now the
Jazz just got size: the 3rd pick of this year's draft, and they got a solid,
veteran point guard as well.
Send AK along and it will be a great deal.
Deron was the 3rd pick in the first round and so was Derrick Favors. Plus we
get Devin Harris who is serviceable not to mention two more 1st round picks.Kevin OConner got that instead of nothing when Deron walks after next
season.Deron was leading us to a first round exit in the playoffs
this season.Gee, let me think.See, ya Deron. You were fun to watch but you clearly can't lead a team anywhere.Derons statsu up and team wins down.Clearly not working. There will be more trades coming. Favors, or Jefferson, or Millsap may be out
of here soon. Too much money tied up in that position clearly. They
are revamping this team for a different coach.
I like this trade. They would not have done it unless they knew Deron wanted out
and was going to leave as soon as he could anyone---whether we got anything in
return or not. Did we really want to go through next year what Denver went
through this year with Carmelo? No. This way we got a good point guard (not as
great as Deron, but still pretty solid), and a prized young forward, plus two
first round picks. I don't think this makes us that much worse, and it holds
better promise for the future. Good move!
Great move by the Jazz...move a disgruntled player who wasn't living up to hype
and getting 4 players in return and 3 Mill in cash. They also received a 19 year
old #3 lottery pick along with a former NBA all-star and what did they give up?
A overhyped point guard who can't play defense and who was going to leave in a
year anyway...good move!
This is a great day for the Jazz. DWill has become a distraction the last 10
weeks, yes he gets his points and his assists but he also has had a lot of
turnovers at critical times in winnable games. He wasn't going to stay here, so
let's see how much happier he will be in Jersey. Jazz fans have to be realistic
about the their chances. There is only one NBA champion a year and the Jazz
can't compete financially with big market teams with their money.Hats off
to the Jazz for being as competitive as they have been since coming to SLC.Also, with what is going on in the NBA, attendance is falling, TV ratings
down, the future of the league, as is now constituted, is in doubt.
This may be a blessing in disquise,Harris is solid,Favors has upside, hopefully
the picks pan out, hoping miles is included in the deal
There is no way we gave up our superstar but if he really wanted to go to New
York like the reports suggested I am happy he went to New Jersey, which is the
next best thing for him. Even though I'm sad to see Deron leave this team will
be better off in the long run. Deron wasn't going to resign with Utah in 2012
and things have been falling apart, he hasn't had a healthy shooting hand, plus
he was taking a lot of heat for coach Sloan. I'm excited to see some new things
happening especially with the addition of Derick Favors, who was the 3rd pick
overall last year, and was the most talented big man in last years draft. The
Jazz were used to taking players who were 6-8 and 6-9 and making them into all
stars. Now imagine Derick Favors giving quality minutes and becoming the
eventual starter. Devin Harris is also a great point guard at 15 points and 7
assists. This team will likely not make the playoffs but in the long run it
made sense. We'll miss you D-will
I think a lot of people are emotionally fired up. It is WAY too early to
declare how this trade ends up. -We know we are getting in Harris.
Its a downgrade for sure, but its better than Watson. -Favors could
be AWESOME. Maybe not, but he could be a 15/10 guy. -We get the
Nets pick this year, that could be top five! -We could get the
warriors pick next year, which could be top 10.-How many teams go
far with a PG as their best player? Anyone? Buellar? It was clear
that the Jazz needed an overhaul. This year's team wasn't working. Harris deal
only goes one year longer than Dwills. Its not a long term deal. We may not be
done dealing. Very excited for the future and I will cheer for my
jazz no matter what!
I agree with the general sentiments posted here. D-Will is a great player,
passionate, and was fun to watch. In hindsight, he could have matured a little
differently so that he could have integrated with the team and coaches a little
bit better. Good luck to D-Will in New Jersey. I will applaud you, D-Will,
when you come back to Utah--thanks for giving us your all.I'm really
hoping we're looking to trade Devin Harris to the Mavs after this. He is a
decent player, but he is a poor shooter. Those of you who thought Bell was
struggling with his shot--Harris' shooting percentages are worse. With D-Will
gone, and even less outside shooting, defenses might as well quadruple team
AJ.I do like Favors--tall and lanky, and not afraid to play defense.
He has a few years to develop his NBA game, though, so his production is down
After a 15-5 start who would have thought Sloan would bounce like he did and
Willy would be traded. I would have liked to have seen Williams to
Houston for Kevin Martin and Aaron Brooks. Think about it, Houston is actively
seeking trades, if you put 2 guards who can fill it up from the outside and
Millsap and Jefferson on the block, that would be a dangerous team. Now the
Jazz get an unproven rookie and a decent pg. This is not a good trade unless
they have another deal lined up.
Look at Harris' numbers. They are in line with DWill's. Yes Dwill has higher
numbers but just think what this kid can do if we have a united front. Let's be
honest after Sloan left or should I say was forced out look at Dwill did now.
He is going to a big market with less athletes. Maybe Harris' numbers go up.
GREAT TRADE for the following reasons:1) D Will didn't want to be
here. Was going to leave next summer anyway. That's the way the new NBA is -
all the superstars want to play in the big markets together. Look what happend
to Cleveland when they thought their star would stay.2) Harris is
no D Will but he's good.3) Favors will be a STUD.4) 2
lottery picks.Cleveland would kill for this deal for Labron if they
knew he would leave.
devon harris...alittle above averagefavors....a question marktwo
first round picks....question markwe could have gotten felton a
fabulous point guard and some shooting from the knicks....they could have held
out for more talent...to much unknown in this trade.....like it or
not....williams is one of the best 3 at his position in the league...and we got
back a big ol' bunch of average for him...unbelieveable!!!!
Thw END of the JAZZ franchise is near. Prepare for no major league sports in
town. [Real Salt Lake is not major league! The best soccer players in the world
play in Europe]. Some government body in Utah will have to purchase
the ESA.Thanks Mr. O'Connor you have destroyed one of the best
things in Utah.
I have changed my mind and opinion. Fresh faces = Playoffs. Go Jazz!!!!!!
to bama fan...how is deron williams for devon harris basically a wash????
come on!!!!and derrick favors and his 6 point avg..???how is it that we can maybe salvage the season by getting rid of williams for
these two guys!!!!that math doesn't add up....for now we have become
a nice blend of the timberwolves and cavaliers!!!!!
Wow, never saw it coming...I am shocked and saddened by this, but somewhere
around December, someone quit on the team or they knew Williams caused the rift.
I also really believe Jazz management should see if Sloan will come back or Phil
Johnson. Williams did not have much respect for arguably the greatest coach in
NBA history....Would Russell have done that to Auerbach?
Good trade for the Jazz. The fans who complain about management not making
moves to improve the team are delusional. This is a great move by the Jazz.
Kevin O'Connor does a great job of making things work in this small market.
This makes me want to go to games again. I didn't want to go watch Deron pout
all game and be a poison to this team. I wish him luck in Jersey...maybe you
can make the playoffs next year!
Who is next to go??? I predict they move CJ (he was buddy buddy with DWill and
has a small contract that should be easy to ship), and then likely move AJ next
year. AK gets resigned for much less next year...So does Utah's
long term future contain??PG - Fredette???SG - Other lottery 1st
rounderSF - HaywardPF - FavorsC - Tomic
We are for sure out of the playoffs with this trade. With all of the new
players, and a new coach, the team will still be trying to find itself while all
all the other teams will be clicking.Miller tried to keep his star
player happy, which resulted in the coach leaving. Now he discovers that the
star player was going to leave all along. Very poorly played by management and
owners. This is one crazy and wild ride with all these changes. In the words of George Jettson, "... Let me off this crazy
Williams was the point Sloan dreamed of. He was my pick in the draft at the
time. Problem is he wouldn't get his head straight, be the point and leader the
team needed. I'm with management on this one. Don't think Harris is the answer
but he, Price and Watson will serve very well until they can do better. Jazz
will make playoffs and quite likely supprise a few people there.
You dont win the NBA Championship without superstars, period. The Jazz now have
none. I have been a Jazz fan for 20 years but I am happy DWill is now playing
10 minutes from my house. Those of you thinking he is going to fade into
obscurity couldn't be more wrong, the Nets play 5 minutes from New York City,
his endorsement deals will go through the roof.
Well, this has been a stellar year for the Jazz---NOT! Who would have guessed
three weeks ago so many changes were about to take place; all that was apparent
is that things just weren't working.Let's see if suddenly D-Will can
hit a basket now that he's out of here. What a great year to have
passed on buying season Jazz tickets.
Without Boozer, Dwill could not win games in Utah. He is not a star on his own.
For all those haters out there, think about this; Jazz got rid of an attitude
problem for the 3rd pick in the 2010 draft (Favors), more cash, a deeper bench,
and draft picks for the future! I say great deal!!!
Just another bone headed move by the worst front office in the NBA. Jerry's
influence on personnel decisions masked the fact that Kevin O'Connor and company
were even worse than Isaiah Thomas and now Jazz assistant Scott Layden were in
New York. This down hill slide started when the Jazz didn't even tender an offer
to Wes Matthews who said he would have signed for a lot less than his current
contract with Portland if the Jazz had just offered. Jazz fans are truly lucky
Greg Miller promised the public to keep Milsap no matter what. Maybe Greg will
step up again and fire O'Connor and hire Jerry as the new GM. Then maybe and
only if O'Connor is gone will the Jazz improve personnel on a consistant basis.
"Chris B.This team was going nowhere. He knew it, management knew
it."Kinda like the Utes???
Newsflash. When you dismantle a team completely, only one person could be in
charge. His initials are G.M. Who didn't sign anybody last year? Who seems to
have orchestrated Sloan's resignation and blamed D-Will for it?The
owner is grabbing the team by the throat and strangling it. O'Connor will be
next. The new collective bargaining agreement has teams unloading
big salaries, hoping to pay less in the future. The Jazz are at the front of
the line.A once proud organization is going down the drain.
From the weather report this morning, the skies will be dark, but as far as I am
concerned...the sun will shine as bright has it ever has.It won't
take long for DWill to sour in New York and he will be traded again within three
years...you can take it to the bank.Great draft picks...now if KOC
can only make them work rather than waste them again and again and again.
Great move. So long D-Will.
Didn't like having a team leader that threw basket balls at team mates during a
game in order to express himself/lead(?).Was growing more and more
dismayed with Williams for some time now. I like the move.
The Jazz also get the nets 1st round pick this year and the Warriors 1st round
pick next year. That is 4 first round picks in the next two years! I did the NBA
draft lottery on ESPN 20 times and the Nets pick didn't go below 7th once. It
hit 1st 3 times. That is at least something to look forward to.
If the Jazz had been more aggressive during the draft last year, they probably
could have gotten Favors. With Favors, D-Will would probably be much more
optimistic about the future in Utah.
What is Utah's identity now?
Derons attitude and wrist have become two big problems. Jersey gets both
an allstar and a coach in one package. Looks like there has to be a follow
up trade because we do not need 4 power forwards. We still need a shooting guard
and defensive minded center.
Now lets hope the jazz dont mess up with these first round draft pics like they
have in the past. Draft Jimmer!!
What years are the Nets' draft picks? Is one this year? If so the Jazz could
have two lottery picks this year! (theirs and the Nets) Sadly, that is about the
only positive thing I can say about this. I am nearly 100% positive that the
Jazz will miss the playoffs this year. After Sloan retired, I was about 90% sure
of this already, but now I don't see how they could do it this year. Maybe they
will actually do a good job of rebuilding this time around? But glad the Jazz
are getting something out of Deron leaving rather than him just going when his
The Jazz now have 3 power forwards. I doubt they are done trading.
A young man with a lot of talent, but a cancer for the team. Another example of
a big ego, I am great and too good for you attitude. Glad to see him go.
Williams was great... last year when he actually ran Sloans offense, a thing of
beauty. This year he has gotten full of himself and lazy- no defense and
mediocre outside shooting, and playing more for his shot that running the team.
I saw a loafing guard for the first half of games, then aggressive and mostly
for himself in the last quarter.
Is it too late to bring back Sloan? Unless Coach Corbin is truly a "Sloan
Jr (as Locke calls him) we could sure use him to tie up all the loose ends we
will have over the next few years.
Wow, that's a shock! I love DWill, I have three Dwill No8 Shirts and Jerseys.
That said, it will be nice to avoid the DRAMA of next season's
"will he go to the knicks" no sense, let the nets deal with that. I hope we can get some good players with the draft picks.
Lots of mind readers in the Jazz fans. Now it has been established reading here
that Deron was going to leave next season. Maybe or maybe not.Whatever it seems like the management is in charge once again. Hope they are
making the right decisions as the fan base likes to win.this trade
clears the way for coach Corbin to make inroads with the team, it hands the
reins over to him and tells the team no team member is bigger than the coach.
Now Corbin step up and make do with this group, the management has
levelled the playing field and you are in charge. Theyears you spent with Sloan
shoulhave taught you that team ball can be played and since you are now short on
all-stars you had better coach team ball.I am really surpirsed at
the atta go management spirit shown here. Very little support for Williams,
seems the fans like loyalty. Is this the final trade for the Jazz
Wow, Deron is a superstar gaurd with all the potential in the world. Instead of
getting another superstar to go with him the Jazz trade their future away for
hope and a prayer. Bad trade in my opinion, you need at least two to three
superstars or great players in todays NBA and the Jazz just don't have the money
to make the big deals needed to get to that level.
Good, I am tired of the excuses and him trying to run the team.Have a nice
time in New Jersey.
love this trade ppl if you dont then you know nothing ... we just got a kings
randsome for a pg ... remember pg is the deepest position in the nba by
faaaaaaaar now... and in college and especially in high school there are tons of
studs comming up..favors is a question mark .. would rather have ekbe udoh.. but
mabe its a good thing if favors never is that good and only plays good defense
then we can afford to keep him and have all the components of a good team...i
agree that a deal to houston for brooks and martin would have been tantalizing
but overall with the two first rounders i like this trade bc harris is very nice
if healthy and favors should at the very least be a force defensivly with
ability to finish over bigs on dump offs.. it all comes down to those first
round picks and if koc can finally make good picks..
I love how everyone was hating on Williams for having something to do with Sloan
leaving, but yet now that he is gone eveyone wants him back! I think this is a
step in the right direction for the Jazz, Deron had a piss pour attitude and was
planning on leaving anyway! Good trade for the Jazz!!!
Big Al at least has a good attitude, tries hard and appreciates being here. I
think he is a keeper. Williams might be poison...The JR Ryder or Latrell
Sprewell of the Jazz. You should see how excited New Jersey is over Williams.
I am so happy get rid of the cancer! Good job Greg your dad would be proud! Go
Sheez, relax. OConnor did what he had to do. Derron has demanded a trade and he
is damaged goods. i repeat Derron is damaged. First, his hand is hurt and he is
going to need surgery or maybe you haven't noticed his numbers lately. Second,
his attitude needs an adjustment. Three, Derron will never live down that he was
the main reason Sloan quite - thus people in the future would only love Derron
if he could win - he can't and he would forever be the goat in Utah.
Interestingly enough, if the Jazz do not win without Derron then Derron will
continue to be the goat. It's too bad that Derron is hurt physically. He
won't be the player he was and if he does come out and has been sandbagging then
he will the most hated player of all time.
Now we need to try and get Sloan back!
The more I think about it the more I like this deal, especially after watching
carmelo put the whole state of Colorado through the wringer all season
long.Harris with a new start may surprize alot of fans,NJ`s pick this year and
GS`s next year, lets just hope they both lose every game,GO JAZZ.KOC you may have
just redeemed yourself
DeRon would have walked anyway...he is also a problem...now we have Harris,
Favors and 2 first round picks... a no-brainer!
Look up my comments last night, this is exactly what I said we should do and I
am the happiest man in Utah "RIGHT NOW"! Don't underestimate Devon
Harris fans he was drafted just 1 year before D-Will and has himself been an
all-star. And to get Favors and these draft picks? I also once again do believe
in Santa Claus! Super.
our idenity is called depth dude!!! not only is harris capable but he is also a
nice trade chip... many teams are interested in him... now our identity is
called a big man who can play some defense in the future ... now our identity is
using all those first round picks to build affordable good young talent around
our exsisting good team..an honestly i dont even think if dwill was out this
entire year that our record would be much different ... dude is ooooverated and
once again there are pg's all over the place ..in the pro's in college and in
high school..easiest position to replace .. bigs are the hardest .. the only
thing holding up the carmelo deal was timothy mozgof lol avging 3 points per..
what does that tell you .. it tells me that defensive bigs that are athletic is
somthing you can neeeever have to much of ...
This is a good move for the Jazz. They get taller and more skilled in the post.
Milsap, Jefferson, Favors, and Okur make a very deep front line. 2 are 6'10
and Okur is 6'11. Now we compete with the lakers at this level. As
for PG I have always liked Harris. He was solid in Dallas and NJ but had
nothing to work with in NJ. Remember Kidd was lost in that abyss as well and
nobody doubted how good he was in his prime. I believe Harris will score nearly
as much as D-Will but maybe not have that take over the game mentality D-Will
sometimes showed. Big Al should step up in the middle though and I see his
numbers on the rise. Milsap should start until next year and then be the depth
off the bench with a healthy Okur.Draft picks should be good picks
with both GS and NJ likley headed to the lottery for the forseeable future. If
they could pair the two to get into the top 1-2 picks this year that would be
even better.Good move Jazz
next move is trading memhet okur if possible... trade him and a first for cris
Going to the game tonight with my son (who is currently wearing his #8 Williams
jersey at preschool). Between the trade and injuries, are the Jazz going to be
able to field a team against the Mavs? In any event, I think this is a great
trade for the Jazz. Harris is more than serviceable, Favors has great upside,
and they could have two lottery picks each of the next two years. The most we
would have had with Deron is a first round exit this year, and he would have
walked after next, but now we actually get some value to build upon. It may be
a painful couple of years, but it would have been more painful for the
organization had Williams left in 2012 and the Jazz received nothing for him.
I am little sad...However,I don't thik Deron would have stuck around after
the fans became disaffectionate with him, after the whole Sloan incedent. But seriously, Favors and Harris??? What about a center??? We got 3 Power
forwards (if Favors is a PF- as reported.)Okur is done for, Elson can't handle
the ball very well, Fes is too slow. We need an all-star center. KOC- you
should have tried to get Lopez.
Who is Deron Williams?
Kevin O'Connor and Greg Miller are borderline humorous in their mismanagement of
this organization.I am not saying Groutch Williams did not need to
be traded for he certainly did. But what we got in exchange for an all-star
point is ridiculous.Devin Harris is always injured. If you thought
Boozer was bad, you have no idea what's in store. Harris will sit out with a
paper cut.Derrick Favors has enormous potential, but I have been
unimpressed with him since his college days. It is possible to be athletic
without being talented, and Favors only adds another log to the jam at PF and
center. And I sure hope these are future draft picks as this is the
most shallow draft in years. All in all, this is a poor trade to
say the very least. I can not imagine this team being competitive until some
serious changes are brought forth in the Jazz's front offices.
Good Job done by KOC!! Williams has created problems for the Jazz since joining
the club. Yes, he's a great player/AllStar.. but he wasn't going to stay here
for the long term. It's a good move to unload him now and get some good picks
rather than try negotiating with him to keep him when he's unhappy.Jerry Sloan is smiling this afternoon.
i just want u to fathom this one little idea, lineup is
mathews, boozer, brewer, dwill, big al. do you realize the potential in this line up
here.but once again o connar has a nack for rebuilding and being a tight wad. we
had opportunity knocking.now with sloan gone who in my opinion is a major reason
for most our accomplishments, i mean he made no names into stars not many can do
that not even the great phil he had kobe and jordan i can get 11 rings coaching
them.sloan got fed up with conners lack of vision and quite frank jazz nation is
too. we deserve a ship more than anybody, were loyal to our cause best fans
hands down.d will is who he is cause of sloan, and stockton as his mentor or
else hed be ok at best, open your eyes we want rings now or you out of utah.
were fed up with these ill advised trades.just make sure ty doesnt go changing
the system jerry has worked so hard to master,no more or we will form a strike i
Maybe this is the real reason why Sloan left???
the fault should not go to d will, read the press conference, d will occonar,
sloan they all say it wasnt the fight that made him quit, come on give jerry
more credit than that..that happens every coach will tell you that. this all
boils down to wanting rings d will knows occonar trades all our assets and
rebuilds i think it gets him off to see us hopefull and than shoot us down to
the ground. d will was not happy here i dont blame him im not happy either but
im loyal to the jazz him not so much stockton was, any way occonar im sure you
need to learn your lesson i am threatening you with a strike im sure i can
convince the jazz nation too we want rings, so we want progress or you shall
feel our pain!!
KOC doesn't have confidence in his own ability to bring in stars to build around
D-Will. If the man with a vision for this team isn't able to build around a
future hall of fame player he needs to go! Fire KOC!!!!! PLEASE
Just don't blow the draft pick on Jimmer whatever you do. He is not a top 3
player and if we are drafting top 3 he shouldn't be considered. But if it was
like 14 then he might be a good pickup. But the guy will be JJ Reddick at best.
Mybe a little better.
What everyone needs to realize is that nobody was forcing the Jazz to make a
deal, this is not like Crymelo at all. This deal was too good to pass up.
Getting a one time Allstar in Harris and a 3rd over all pick in Favors and a
first round 2011 pick and first round 2012 pick, are you kidding me, we made out
like bandits!Great move, GO JAZZ!
This is the best move the jazz have made. Get rid of that pre madonna d-will and
get some players who will actually play and work as a team. Devin Harris is
every bit as good as D-wil and will be great plus we now have more depth at the
power forward position with derrick favors. The 2 first round draft picks will
be nice too seeing how were going to get jimmer and jared sullinger
Deron Williams has been gone since his arguments with Coach Sloan and his less
than team unity attitude from the beginning. I thought he might be going to
either New York or Dallas before his contract ran out. I for one am glad he is
gone; as in don't let the door hit you in the behind as you leave. For me, he
must have had personal problems apart with his alienating himself from teammates
and management. I don't wish him any bad luck in the future, but it was time he
was moved; he wanted it, and he got his wish. I like what the Jazz received for
him. I don't think the team could have done much better. The way things stand,
the Jazz will be lucky to make the playoffs in terms of who is ahead of them,
even if Deron remained. Kevin O'Connor knew this, and so did the coaches and
management. The time to pull the trigger on the deal they just consumated was
timely and right. Thank you KOC; you did the right thing at the right time.
Boozer and Williams were not in the right place.Go Jazz.
We may not keep those draft picks, and the fact we got two players for one means
we can still move someone. I still hope they try for a shooter, but I really
don't want to see Millsap go...so that leaves jefferson. I wonder if they are
done dealing, should be interesting the next 24 hours.
to jcrotty...depth is a deep bench..when the starting 5 isn't very
good you don't really have depth...and if harris is a trade chip
what are you really going to get in return...he's alittle above averageand our identity is "getting affordable good young talent"...sounds
like a subpar identity.and you making the point that he's overrated
is exactly my point....everyone thinks he's great and we just DID NOT get fair
value....if dwill was a free agent this year then i would understand the need to
move him before the deadline...all the sports sites i am reading seems to
say the nets really didn't have to give up that much...i am now
reading that the phones are ringing off the hook regarding milsap and
How can you possibly fault Williams? He is on a team where he has been the only
legitimate NBA starter since he was drafted but the NBA bench players that start
with him are blowing up the bank with starter salaries. What you say, let me
count the ways? Milsap is at best a 6th man and good but not a full year player
at 4 and can't cover the 3 so he has no position and gets beat down for a full
season. Okur is the best 7 foot 2 guard in the league but is too slow and soft
to play the center or 4 position. Corver was a benchie and continues to be with
Chicago. Boozer is half a legitimate starter but not on defense and always
needed a defensive stopper to play with but never had one. Jefferson is a nice
back up center or power forward. AK has been a 6th an type his whole career.
Please don't insult the Jazz fan's intelligence with this line up and then be
shocked when Williams wants out. This is management's issue all the way. The
Jazz are an NBA farm team right now.
we got picks we got cap room next year ... this is exciting again ..
I like Favors as a 3rd big. Harris is not Williams but he is pretty good and
probably good enough if the Jazz can get some help at SG. What
happened on the money? Favors/Harris is about 12 mill. DWill is 15. The draft picks help if they are used wisely.
hopfully we get doc rivers kid with one of our 1st rounders.. austin rivers in
Great move by the Jazz. Williams was as good as gone after next year so why not
get something for him while they can? Harris will do very well in this system
and Favors could be great down the road. They are not done dealing though so
who is next...........
A lot of "wisdom" from a guy who's screen name is taken from a 3rd
string PG who never made it in the NBA. I bet jcrotty 25 thinks if Crotty still
played he'd be the best PG in the league. If things in the Jazz organization
were still as peachy as they were up until this year he would still be using his
dwilliams 8 screen name. Like most fair weather Jazz fans and I think they make
up the majority of Jazz fans jcrotty 25 is willing to throw anyone under the bus
and when things don't get better he and others like him will throw someone else
under the bus. To all of you calling Deron out over complaining about his job or
co-workers I say try doing the same at your own jobs before offering it as
advice to someone else.PS I quit supporting the Jazz when Kevin
O'Connor made one of his first bone head mistakes and traded a young and
improving DeShon Stevenson for an old slow washed up eurpean league cast off
Gordon Gericek...I have no NBA team so I consider myself pretty objective.
I can say I called this one a year ago in these forums.Long before
dwill sign his new contract, I told everyone here dwill would not be here
long, that he did not want to be here.BUT THIS IS A GOOD THING.Jazz need to rebuild for a new system, for new coaches. The
slaon system, the sloan players, are a_thing of the past. The jazz
must move on,they now will have a_glut of PFs.look_for
another trade to boost the 2 an possibly the 3.and possibly a trade
involving AK and okur.if not, the jazz will take_ak at a_much lower
price, or let him go probably to new jersey, while they use
the_money to sign a better 2, 3, and/or 5.who knows, with dwill
gone they might try to move up and get jimmer fredette.lots
of_possibilities now that sloan is gone.and unlike many here I
belive the Jazz are poised now to become great team, and NOT just
a_team with a great or very_good pg and pf and a system to get the _most out
of_that.The future is bright, and_many wanted the_jazz to moveup and
I support this trade 100 percent. Deron was the problem. As a fan I did not
support him for many reasons. He had a posse that passed to eachother , avoided
passing to others. Maybe now Hayward will get a fair shot. I look for CJ's shots
to go way down as well. And that is a good thing. Maybe everyone will start
playing some team ball again.I wonder, now that the Jazz don't have
a player complaining to the officials every single play of the game will they
actually start getting some calls?
I have to say that initially, I was surprised by this trade, but OHHHH boy am I
excited by it. A few things to consider:-The likelihood
that Williams was going to stay after next season was VERY low!-Did
we really want to go through what Denver did this year?-Williams
really didn't want to be here any longer.I have enjoyed watching
Deron play and think he is a great talent, but we got some great things in
return. This years Nets first round pick, next years first round pick
from Golden State. A solid PG that will probably start in front of Watson and a
very promising young forward in Favors.Go to youtube and search
Derrick Favors dunk. He is so athletic and at 6 '10 WOOT. It's like Shawn Kemp
Everybody's got it all wrong, thinking this trade is to get rid of the bad guy
who ran Sloan out of town. Pale Bear and Anonigma got it right-- Sloan got wind
of the impending trade and had no desire to start all over rebuilding with a
bunch of new players. He is a 'foxhole' guy, and when KOC said we're getting
rid of your #1 comrade, after being unable/unwilling to pay to keep Matthews,
Boozer, Korver, Brewer-- Sloan said I've had enough. Maybe D-Will and Sloan
butted heads, but they both competed and wanted to win and cared about the team
AND the community! For KOC to ship off the PG that Sloan had groomed into an
All-Star was more than Sloan could take. I will miss D-Will a lot. I already
miss Sloan a lot. I hope the Jazz can remain competitive.
too bad we didnt get anthony marrow in this deal would have really given us an
amazing deal...and a much needed shooter..
This Prokhorov guy is really scary/sly/true businessman (pick any of the three).
Everyone was talking bout Carmelo and Nets getting Butler from Mavs. Did anyone
have even slightest idea that Deron could be traded? to Nets? Man! Honestly, I think we could have gotten much more than this. Or is Prokhorov
investing in auto dealership in Utah in a separate deal?Or maybe
Jazz administration were so fed up with him and decided to teach him a lesson
and dump him to New Jersey (in a true SNL fashion)
There is more to come. The KOC/Miller are remaking the team with cost effective
players. Harris and Millsap are about 8 Mill. Favors is 4. In the
process they may also make it better and deeper in the longer run. AK and OKUR still represent 27 Mill and that will be used as the new CBA
becomes clear. KOC will build this team from the ground up to fit
his own and Corbin's ideas on how to run the team.It is the true end
of the Sloan era. Sloan is not coming back. DWill is gone. The Jazz
are in full rebuilding mold for the next 2 years. If they miss the
playoffs they get to keep this years 1st round pick. The new CBA
will make draft picks much more valuable and expensive Vets less valuable. Corbin has already moved away from most of the flex as it was not
working. He is running stuff that AJ can run. Fix the outside
shooting and D next. Then work on a good back up C.Todd you got your
wish and there is more to come.
It seems like this move will only serve to dissolve whatever bonds of loyalty
exist between the franchise and the rest of the players on the team. They'll
all feel like the betrayal could come at any time, so just look out for #1
instead of for each other and the team and community.
Move over D-Will. It's Jimmertime!!
@ me myself and i... ?? .. we needed to trade deron even if he wasnt going to
leave in two years ..our team looks like a nbdl after the top 5.. we needed
depth and more talent... deron is overated at the position of the most
depth..you wanted to keep stevenson ..wow what a genius lol... i called for us
to draft tony parker over raul lopez after i watched him toy and torch the
highly recruted baron davis in a high school vs. the world game... top that
one... i called for josh smith over kirk snyder and kris humphris..top that one
i called for monte ellis over cj miles ... i called for josh howard over
pavlovic...and your talking about deshawn stevenson lol...
Sell the JAZZ. The NBA has become the prima-donna league. The Jazz doens't have
the philosophy that will cater to players calling the shots, nor should they.
The Leauge is starting to spin out of control, it's not fun anymore.
You all know we're going to miss poor D-Will, right?Yeah, like a
blister on the bottom of my foot!Or like a LOT of other players we
wish we would have kept or signed over the years, you know who I'm talking
about...Gordon whats-his-nameSomething SeiklyUm that one
Russian guyOh, and that really good player from Duke U.And don't
forget, Danny Ainge!Yeah, we're going to miss D-Will
alright...(LOL)My suggestion: Now that the Jazz just went
younger, they are going to need some training from the BEST ever. So, KOC go to
work and earn some of those big bucks you've been raking in over the years and
hire Sloan as a "Consultant/Talent Scout", Karl Malone as an Asst.
Coach for "Post Players & Physical Fittness", and John Stockton as
a Asst. Coach for "PG's and Game/Pressure Management". Coupled with
Jeff Hornacek ("Shooting Guards"), Scott Layden ("Play
Making") and Head Coach Tyrone Corbin--that's would be a WINNING Coaching
Staff that I would gladly pay to see working on the sidelines!!Trust
me, D-Will is going to miss Utah!
What is the Utah Jazz management thinking. They need to fire Kevin O'Connor. KOC
is the cancer to the Utah Jazz.
This trade has the potential to be the best trade ever by the Jazz. For Williams
we received the whole package offered to Denver, difference is Denver would have
given up Carmelo,Billups,S Williams,Harrington and or Carter.WE got it all by
just giving up Williams!I think the Nets panicked when they lost out on
Anthony,and thought" man,we better get somebody",Chuck
The new Star of the Utah Jazz: CJ Miles25 points a game with Dwill
and his ball-hogging out of the way!!
That's too bad, I was hoping that he would have stayed and the Jazz use the
money from AK's & Memo's ending contracts to bring in another All-Star to
play with D-Will, Millsap & Big Al. I don't like the trade, but Deron mostly
like would have left at the end of next year, which would leave us with nothing.
At lest we got 'something' for him. I just wonder If the Jazz can attract
another All-Star Free Agent to come here at the end of this season or the
Good luck DWill. You will be missed!
As bad as next year's draft class is, with the nets' pick, which more than
likely would be in top 5, we could get a hell of a player in kyrie irving or if
lucky jared sullinger. on top of that, with our very own pick we can always get
our very own jimmer nation.
to Great Houdini...thats just the problem with the deal...the center
piece of the deal is the word "potential" and you should get more than
that when giving up one of the best 3 point guards in the game...
Great job KOC & GM. You really know where eggs come from!
Enough with the good ridance blogsQuit saying D-Will is overrated!
All NBA last year-All Star- NBA player of the month! Olymic gold medal winner!
How many gold medals do you naysayers have? NONE! THAT"S WHAT I THOUGHT!
It's not D- Will's fault that the Jazz downgraded the roster. I will say all our
old players seem to be doing well in Chicago! No Memo hurts as well.
i hear alot about trading okur....who in the world would want him...he's damaged
goods...what was the one suggestion ..price and okur to the clippers
for Kamen....yeah right...even the clippers arent that dumb..
Sooo sweet, gotta love it baby... loser like boozer and it'll make the Jazz a
much better team, (team, not glory hog). These athletes are sooooo expendable
and I love when they finally get the boot. They are no better the Hollywood
movie stars, all about themselves. He'd be pumping gas if it werent for
basketball and he had to blow it.. so old story, just different day couldn't be
The biggest question now has to bewhere are the points going to come from? Who
will be the shooters? CJ? Bell has not been great at shooting. I hope the Jazz
can swing a deal to bring in a shooter. I like the trade, but we need someone to
create and be able to space the floor and knock down open jumpers.
It was very unlikely that the Jazz could re-sign D-Will in 2012. This way they
may get a lottery pick at the end of this season. Could this be their attempt to
position themselves for a shot at drafting Jimmer? For that matter, is Jimmer
worth a lottery draft choice?
Jimmer will not be anywhere near D-Will's level! Those comments are just
I feel bad for Ty Corbin right about now...
i hope he gets mugged in the big city, he"ll for sure get lost and wont be
the big guy in town.
I love DWill I thought he was a great player for the Jazz (most of the time).
Now I have 4 DWill No8 jerseys/t-shirts headed to chairty I guess. I
think this is a good move for the Jazz going forward, lots of flexibility and
prospects for the future. So we can raise up some more young prospects to get
into the prime of the careers and head to one of the big markets. In the
meantime we can enjoy the young talent.
Attitude can transform good players into a great ones.Conversely,
attitude can also turn a great player into one that misses the mark.Remember the attitude of Stockton and Malone.Remember the attitude
of Deron Williams. This trade was a no brainer.Attitude
Jimmer could replace D in a New York heart beat... Jimmer is smarter, a better
shooter and has a better attitude and attitude is everything. Plus he's not into
Downgrade? The Jazz had a good team! Period. Deron quit on this team during the
summer. Pathetic too because the Jazz had a good playoff spot before this
finally came to a head. I wonder if he will ever realize what he let go. I mean
what a selfish player he was.
All you DWill haters need to get used to losing and quit whinning about it.DWill was the best player on this team AND he played hurt. The National News Media dreamed up a big controversy and blamed DWill for
Sloan quiting. Which DWill (nor any other player) could not do. Knot
headed so called Jazz fans fanned the flames. The National News
Media got what they wanted. They moved DWill to a big market. Quit
whinning about not being able to get stars. When you get one you run them out of
town. This trade does not make the Jazz better today. However, Favors MAY be the PF of the future (time will tell). Harris is a
decent PG but lacks the scoring capability of DWill. The Jazz saved
7-8 Mill in salary and Lux tax and are positioned to make additional changes
under the new CBA. They are in full blown rebuild mold right now. IF
they were bold they might try to trade AK and picks for Wallace. But dropping
lux tax is probably more important and the picks may be more valuable in the
long run. The team will be rebuilt around AJ/Favors.
Plyxply - Cousins? Are you paying attention? And those of you who think the
Jazz're getting nothing? What universe do you occupy, seriously? I'm totally
confused at how any of you can turn this into anything but the best move the
Jazz have made in a long time. D-Will's a legit superstar, and he'll thrive in
NJ, and we (those of us who can think) wish him the best, but one superstar
point guard isn't gonna get it done. This team just got a LOT better.
After reading all the nasty comments, I'm glad Deron is rid of all you
ungrateful, fairweather friends. Let me see, how many titles did the Jazz win
under 23 years of the great Jerry Sloan (who QUIT on his team), Stockton and
Malone? Zip, zero, zilch, nada, none!! Your losing ways are now guaranteed. I
haven't read one single word about the charitable work Deron did in Utah through
his Point of Hope Foundation. Deron is a caring, giving person, a better person
than most of you can ever hope to be. I am disgusted by the Jazz so-called
fanbase, and I am no longer a Jazz fan. The Jazz are now guaranteed continued
mediocrity. Enjoy Harris and Favors. It's just a typical pathetic non-impact
Jazz trade.I am now a New Jersey Nets fan. Good riddance to the
Jazz. And if you people want to know what a bad attitude is, just look in you
mirrors. Your reflection will reveal to you the epitome of a bad attitude and,
moreover, you will see what a real loser looks like.
Jazz just became the leading contender to win the CBA Title. That's the only
Title you will see in Utah
They needed to change this team...but what is their fascination with that
'always injured' Kirilenko..and that other Euro stiff Okur?
Re: ohplease Who cares what others think? There is not even 200 comments on this
board. There are millions of people in Utah. Why would you stop being a fan of
something because of what a few of us say? You would only being selling yourself
short of something that you loved right? Not good for you my friend. You are right though lets both look in the mirror.
@ Bugoff this will be a very fast rebuild .. tell me the last time we had an
athlete like favors... why do you think Evans gets playing time ... its by
default .. he is the only athlete on the team with a 7 ft wingspan..now we have
favors who is a shotblocker 7ft wingspan athlete.. we can pick up a shooting
guard next year (nick young)maybe. and make moves with picks and cap space we
are accually going to get better waaaaaay faster by trading dwill then by
keeping him .. we cant attract free agents so we have to build thru the draft..
not by making the 1st rd of the playoffs and losing and getting krik
snyders and pavlovics in the draft.
When we look back at the sports stories from this year Jimmer will be a much
bigger story than the loss of DWill and Jerry Sloan. I think
everyone will want to get Jimmer-fied again and again and very few people will
remember this trade.
Nice maneuver. The "cancer" is gone. Miles has to go also. I hear
that will be done tomorrow with AK. Sad but true. Had to be done for Corbin to
control the clubhouse. Go Jazz!
Jimmer = Adam Morrison the 2nd.I wonder if Corbin knew anything
about this? So, if they got rid of Williams and Sloan is still gone;then I
believe Utah Jazz sportswriters have not gotten to the bottom of Sloan's
departure. They could have told him to wait until they were finished trading
Williams. Am I right?
@ohplease ..i met derron williams in idaho for a preseason open practices and
had front row seats and was able to go onto the court afterwards with all the
larry miller employes and derron williams was by far the most conceted person i
have witnessed .. my friend asked him if i could get a picture with him and he
blew it off with some rude gesture.. and there were only about 5 people who were
even trying to get his autograph so its not like he was overwelmed... sorry dude
all you do is put a ball in a hole and thats the only thing you can do .. so i
dont want to hear about what a great chairitable guy he was .. he thought he was
much better then he really was and knew he could never lift this franchise the
way stockton did as a leader..so like lequit james he is going to a future
superteam...so he doesnt have to carry a team
I like Deron, he'll make good things happen in NJ. However, this was a good
move by the Jazz front office. The team did not have the assets to get the
roster to compete for a championship. This move will give them a very strong
core in 3-4 years. They could have a team made up of 5-6 lottery picks, which
will be a substantial talent upgrade over our current roster.Ship
AK, then resign him as a free agent for much less money. Send him on a 3-4
month vacation to somewhere warm.Okur is available, but I don't
think there is much of a market for him with his injuries. Utah is probably
better off hanging on to him.
A typical small market approach. Running for cover as opposed to building a
championship team. The Jazz are done for this season. Hopefully this will pan
out in the future. Its tough/frustrating to be a Jazz fan sometimes.Good luck D-Will!!!!
Great move by the Jazz... home run! Williams couldn't get this team past LA or
the Spurs, and we've been regressing for 3 years with his great
"leadership" in the locker room. We get a PG who is cheaper and
nearly as good, a GREAT potential player in 19 year old Favors, and not one, but
TWO lottery picks (2011 for sure, 2012 probably). Williams wasn't
coming back, Jazz didn't wait, and got a king's ransom from New Jersey who was
desperate after the Anthony move to NY. Good luck Deron with that supporting
With the tenth pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, the Utah Jazz select James T.
Fredette from Brigham Young University. With the 34th pick in the
2011 NBA Draft, the Utah Jazz select Jackson Emery from Brigham Young
University.Get Cougar fans in those seats! The Jazz won't
win much, but they will be interesting.
Bye, y'all! This ex-Jazz fan is now heading to the Nets' message boards where
the fans are very excited to have landed DWill. Sloan, Stockton,
Malone. 23 years, 0 rings. Sloan: 23 years, never COY. Jazz chances
of making playoffs this year: 0%
Sorry ohplease, but regardless you were leaving as a fan. You are from Illinois
and a DWill fan - not a Jazz fan. I loved DWill and at times thought he was
better than Stockton - but the last few months he has seemed like he didn't
really care. A change of scenery should be good for him. Hopefully we start
playing with heart again.
oh please:you have enough to worry about with Rahm and o coming from
Illinois. Do us a favor and worry about your own problems and leave the Jazz
alone. Glad you are a nets fan.
Re: Ohplease BYE....
Come on, ohplease in Illinois. I've seen how the fans in other cities turn
negative against their former heroes when they leave. Deron is a good guy as
NBA players go, and he gave it his best shot in Utah, and bought into Sloan's
way for several years. But the Jazz couldn't get enough of the right players to
get it done. Not Deron's fault. The article said that "nobody saw this
coming!" Not true. With Deron being the only really valuable asset the Jazz
had, AND he being free to leave in another year or so, leaving the Jazz
empty-handed, AND with New Jersey having struck out again in free agency and
they had all that cap room, etc., this was an opportunity that O'Connor couldn't
have missed. This deal was almost certainly put together in the last couple of
days. A solid move by the Jazz where business sense finally overcame the team's
intrinsic sense of loyalty. And Coog fans, Jimmer isn't the answer. It's be
really fun to have Fredette on the Jazz, but be realistic.
I think that this clears the way for Jimmer to play on the Jazz. He'd be a
great fit in several respects. First of all, the fans would be familiar with
his game (many of the fans are already rooting for him). Second, he can let it
rain and the Jazz need a long range sharp shooter (that hasn't been in place
since Korver left). Third, he's going to be a star. Fourth, who doesn't want
to get Jimmer-fied?
@jcrotty25I am not sure they are even through trading. AK or Millsap
could go before tomorrow. Millsap is expendable in a rebuilding year with
Favors coming on board. Millsap has a cheap desirable contract so Utah should
keep him but who knows what will be offered. AK still has value both
as a player and as an expiring contract. He may get dumped for salary purposes
and then come back next year? Millers saved 9 mill on the DWill
trade. It was a salary dump as much as a building move. 3 mill in cash, 3 mill
in salary and 3 mill in lux tax. Smart economic move. Greg/KOC are
now going to build a team they really want. Sloan is no longer calling the
shots. Favors is the PF of the future and AJ is a decent C/PF. If
Millsap goes they get a bigger C for him. If AK goes they get an SF/SG. They get younger and cheaper. That has to happen under the new CBA.
However, Millsap is reasonable and AK will be next year. They may
even trade AK/Millsap for picks and salary dump.
Well??? Good for the Jazz, CLEAR THE AIR sort of speak and get 2 Number 1's and
some cash and players! He makes to much money anyway!
This move saved money (9 Mill). The key question is does the Jazz really need a
max salary PG? It has always been the most important position in the
Sloan system but DWill could shoot not just pass and run a team. This gives Harris a chance to step up and regain his DAL form. But if the Jazz
have Favors and AJ at the PF positions (the current Sloan flex has 2 PFs and 2
wings). Do the Jazz really need a scoring PG?They appear to need
wings who can shoot. That and the defense are the next obvious moves. How fast will KOC/Miller adjust AK/Bell/CJ/Hayward? AK/Hayward rebound. CJ
shoots. Bell is a generalist like AK (both are a bit old). None of
them are ideal. Sometimes the Jazz do run a more traditional look
with a true C. Do they want to try to get one and change the dominant approach?
If they do then they need even more outside shooting. The Jazz will
rebuild the team to fit Corbin/KOCs vision of what it is supposed to be. I do not think Miller will put up with over paying to lose.
Deron was a great player but when Boozer left Deron's number was up. He
promised to make Jefferson and allstar but has not been able to teach him the
pick and roll yet.Lately he played like he had already given up,
that might not be the case but he could never hold his head up in Utah again
after he and Sloan had a BIG fight and 90 minutes later Jerry resigned.Hopefully Deron you can find some peace at your new team and your career will
continue to grow for you but chance are...it won't
RE: ohplease | 3:56 p.m. Feb. 23, 2011 Springfield, Il Stockton, Malone, Sloan = 2 straight NBA championship games (losing to
Jordan's Bulls). DWill = 0 NBA championship games. Your
logic is illogical. I would much rather have old-school than DWill DWon't.
I must apologize to Jazz Management. They have shown that the inmates don't get
to run the prison. Lets cut Corbin and the new people a little slack. The team
wasn't going anywhere as it was.
OK, Zoobies, I think it's time you faced reality and realized this is NOT about
your boy Jimmer. This is about the Jazz not about the Y. Wake up and realize
that Jimmer is not going to "save" the Jazz franchise. Get real for
i hear the media talking about the value of a superstar and how the superstar
always wins in a trade but what i think they are missing is that our superstar
is a point guard so remind me the last time a superstar won a championship as
the clear cut best player on his team.. neeeeever..and i only have to say clear
cut bc of magic jhonson but we all know he had 2 other all stars with him.. so
other then magic there are none..
I like the move, it seems to be a smart move, DWill is good but he was showing
signs of having an attitude problem and wasn't the leader we needed him to
be.We have alot of young talent to go forward with, Favors could be a
stud, Hayward is very talented, Evans has potential but I think he will need to
prove he can play the 3 spot. CJ is still young and KOC still thinks of him as a
player that is one of the core players for the future. He now has to step up and
become more of a leader and a go to guy on this team, it may take some time,
let's hope he can and will. The two possible lottery pick could end up
adding talent to this team, so the future looks good.I wish they could
move AK before the deadline and get a talented 3 or a center & possibly
draft picks and then sign AK next year for half what he is making now.
Wow, it will be very interesting to see how things work out now. Can the the
team win with all these changes? Who knows? Good team chemistry is so
essential at this level and it usually takes a lot of time to get everything
right. As I said, it will be fascinating to see how it all plays out. It is too
bad all these changes had to happen now instead of in the off season.
@ bugoff ,i really dont want to lose millsap he seems to have a clutch gene in
him i remember he beat boise state in college with a jordan fade from three and
he seems to step up in big games in the playoffs but as far as moving cj miles
and Ak feel free.. try to get cris kaman somehow would be nice.. and a sg fo
Anyway we could have included Boris Diaw in the deal as well?
In his interview, Deron was much more gracious and thankful to the fans of Utah
than they have been to him. That is the essence of the man that JazzNation has
scapegoated and thrown under the bus.
this trade is big gamble again, just like when we let Matthews go and gamble on
Bell who is still struggling finding his shooting..I just hope this gamble made
by Kevin will have a positive result.. I hate to see D-Will go but I think this
trade will help both parties to "move on" after D-Will's name was drag
on the departure of coach Sloan, which I think that rumor is proven true because
of this trade..I'm still optimistic about our chances making the playoffs, if we
ended in 8th place, that will be nice match up against the Spurs, Harris versus
Parker, that will be fun to watch!
Almost a "complete" new start. No more sucking up to anyone anymore
This will free up our new coach , big Al, Hayward,Fess, Evans and others. Now
all the players can clean the do it my way or else slate. Just 2 years ago
Harris was an all-star and lord knows how good Favors can be. 3 mil and 2 #1's
how can anyone not like this deal?
Loser like Boozer
You don't tug on Superman's capeYou don't spit into the windYou
don't pull the mask off the old Lone Ranger and you DON't mess around with
the Head Coach.Williams has been around long enough to know better.
wow...i think i said this a few weeks ago...they pulled it off...the package
deal that was meant for melo...went to us...two future first round draft
picks...favors and harris...they are going to blow the team up...I think this is
partly the reason why Jerry retired...i think o'connor told Jerry that they
would trade deron...and jerry dont want any part of it...so he retired...just a
Re:Ohplease I thought you were leaving?
Guess the Deeecision really wasn't up to you after all was it Coach D???The Seats have Spoken!!!
Nah, I'm going to stick around and watch the Jazz lose to the Mavericks. Go,
It is good he gone, he was a 'cancer' in the locker room and the Jazz can build
for the future. They should be able to make a couple picks next year and
improve the team. It was obvious with Williams the team was going no where.
I wonder if ohplease is related to miles?
On an intellectual level, I understand that the Jazz needed to make the trade,
because Deron had been unwilling to commit to re-sign up to this point in time,
and the Jazz did not want to be placed in the situation that Denver, Cleveland,
Toronto or Phoenix found themselves in (or that the Jazz found themselves in
with Carlos Boozer at the end of last season). However, on an
emotional level, I feel really sad, almost like I had a family member die.
Deron Williams was the one Jazz player that I really enjoyed watching, and now I
won't get a chance to watch him play very often. I don't think there are many
Jazz fans who didn't really love Deron Williams.
Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! Jazz get blown out by Mavs. More blowouts to come.
Stay tuned.Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!
I get and understand the trade but Jazz are just a bunch of average players with
an unproven rookie coach. The writing is on the wall.I know many people
are happy with the trade but this team is not looking to compete for anything
for three years specially with Heyward and Favors combining for 5 points a game
this year. No team competes for playoffs let alone championships without at
least a couple of stars. Look at the top teams in the league right now and they
all have a minimum of two stars with really good role players. Jazz have a
couple of role players and no stars. The time has finally come to drop the
season tickets and spend that money on a cruise with the wife. At least I get
good memories with that and not an expensive nighlty dissapointment.
My favorite is when people on the forums talk about "he was a cancer,"
etc. It's really funny the level of intellect here.
i was the only one on here screaaaaming not to let wesley mathews go and now im
telling all of you .. let it be heard here and now .. letting dwill go for that
trade was brilliant .. again when is the last time a pg won a championship as
the best player on his team .. this is best move the jazz have ever made ...
good job koc finally..pg is deepest position at all levels..college high school
and nba..we can now build the only way a small market team can and thats with
depth drafting and dynamic players
Coach Corbin sais, "He's a great player and he's a good teammate for the
guys."That pretty much says what I think of Williams - better
player than teammate.Hopefully the Jazz draft well with the picks
they got in the trade.
If we get perry jones and kire irving from duke it is officially ova you gotta
pull it off koc we are on our way baby!!!two lottery picks and we are back..
kyrie irving is twice the athlete as dwill will ever be...
Under Sloan there was "continuity". Greg is now calling
the shots. If a player does not produce Greg is not likely to put up with it. He
is not afraid of change. He has finally taken control of this team. It was not DWill's team (ever). It is not now AJs or Corbin's or even KOC's.
Greg has come out and will make bold decisive moves. He may be wrong
sometimes but he will fix the weaknesses. The Jazz as an
organization are still pretty loyal but they are going to be more results
oriented. They also are going to focus on younger cheaper players.
The Sloan days of expensive VET bias is gone. VETs are fine but don't over pay
them. Do your job or get moved. AJ,AK and Millsap are
playing well. Adding Favors into that mix is a formidable front line. Hayward has to shoot. Evans becomes an SF. A good shooting SG is now crucial
and an upgrade in D is essential. If the Jazz tank they get to keep
their pick for this year?
The future looks a whole lot better as wellas brighter already. It didn't take
a rocket scientist to see that the outcome of sitting around and waiting for
"I'll Decide's Contract to expire was only going to amount to a free one
way ticket out of Salt Lake for Williams anyways. He didn't have anything to
lose and really no incentive to have to sustain an all out regime to perform.
Once someone who isn't happy where they're at realizes the the impact of that
self realization, then attitude definitely becomes an issue. I finally think
that KOC at the incredulus unintended and after-the-fact loss of a much more
critical team asset suddenly realized that his star PG was fast becoming a
fading liability. It suddenly became a BFO moment for him. KOC got slapped in
the face with... the repercussion of a very "Blinding Flash Obvious"
moment. The "Seats" were determined to have their say... and they
have. Fortunately KOC had the sense to not drag this out any further... but to
try and minimize the collateral damage. For all intents and purpose this is no
longer title hunt for 2011.
@jcrotty25i've been pulling for kyrie irving...that dude is
awesome...if we get more lottery picks for next years draft...we might get
harrison barnes and kyrie irving...make it happen two lottery picks + Favors +
Jefferson + Millsap + Hayward...its like what happened with OKC when they got
Durant Jeff Green on the same year...then russel westbrook on the next... hope
the same thing happens to us...but still props to d-will for being classy when
he left...im still a fan of his...and would definitely watch nets games...
@Kakashi... exactly right couldnt have said it better myself.. someone who is
thinking like me your a smart man...
I respect Dwill for his honesty. He was incredible to watch. Obviously this
year was different and the Jazz got a great deal out of this. DWill will get a
standing ovation from me when he comes back to Utah.
I see nothing but an upside to this trade. In my opinion, we would have lost
Deron anyway and the move brought in money, players, and draft picks.I look at
OKC .. they had to change and go with a whole new team and they are doing very
well now. KOC did his job and is a very good manager in a tough position.
Patience is time well spent and the fans of the Jazz just have to be patient as
they rebuild the future.Favors is only 19 and could develop into a good player
as the coaches work with him, including Hornececk getting him a mi-range jump
shot like he did with Millsap. The Jazz didn't have a first round pick and now
they could be in the lottery again this year. KOC and the scouting staff found
Millsap @ #47 and Mathews wasn't even drafted, so I think the future is bright
as the new players and rookies get playing time and develop team-work among the
group. 3 years from now should be enough time to have a solid team that works
well with each other. Just give them time.
Once again Jazz fans contradict themselves and make themselves look foolish.
This time in the online poll questions asked by the DesNews. I find it hard to
make sense of 52% of those polled say the Williams trade was a good thing and
60% of the same people polled say they regret to see Williams go. Which is it?
You can't have your cake and eat it too.
@jcrotty 25You praise Kevin O'Connor in one post and blast the majority of
his draft picks in another. Of course you called for the NOW better players the
Jazz could have drafted and passed on. Prove it! Oh that's right you can't. As
far as the Stevenson trade is concerened for me it was the straw that broke the
camel's back and showed the world that O'Connor is a horrible GM. Add it to all
the blunders you called him on and how can you praise him even if you like this
trade. I think the Jazz got more than fair value for Williams just don't think
it was the right move at this juncture.
@ me myself and i .. yep i do blast koc for all the horrible picks he has made
in the past so what and i still dont like him as a gm .. but he did make the
right move for once so i still will give him the credit he deserves for finally
making a bold move .. maybe he has learned from his mistakes..we shall see in
june this year and next if he can finish it off with some nice picks..
Forced decisions are not necessarily good decisions. But as the situation
developed and was heading in a more southerly direction at least we can credit
KOC with salvaging a crew. Maybe a shipwrecked crew... but at least a crew with
a couple of lifeboats and some preservers. They can't very well continue to
pursue the objective they started with...so turn around and head back to shore
and rebuild. there is no other choice to live with.
When Stockton and Malone retired/left it was over for the Jazz. The league has
evolved into players or owners looking out for themselves. All the mid to small
market teams which other than Boston, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles is all
the rest of the franchises in the league have no shot, and will continue to be
the training ground for new phenoms and other pretenders coming into the league,
who will end up moving around as time goes on. All of this moving scenario
aggrevates the have not franchise fans and is leading to a lot of bellyaching.
The same holds true with all the other professional leagues. So live with it,
pay the $20 to $1,000 plus per ducat and purchase all the other dewdads at your
local outlet and praise the Lord we live in America; the Land of the Free.Go Jazz.
RE: carabaoU | 4:48 p.mIT took like 15 years of playing together
for the team reach the finals, and even then the NEVER one best two
teams, if there was no jordon ( and when jordon was out the league
they still couldn't win) then indian would won the champioship, sorry folks the jazz were never one of the best two teams ( that would
be chicago and indiana) and not even have bestteam in west (the west
was WAAAY down and better teams like the lakers and surs were still young),and one of those years they made it to finals was pure luck on a last
second 3 pointer. The jazz never had players you need to win
champioship, NOR a system to use those layers, they were always
lacking greatness in the 2 and 3, the best they ever did was when
they had horny with his bad knees.NO. any honest jazz fan would
recognize under slaon they never were good enough and system held them back.now now that sloan regime is over the jazz can now get players you need
and implement a system that actually uses them, and win a championship.
So management dumped him because they 'thought' they'd lose him in the
future?Would Larry Miller have done that?I doubt it.What ever happened to trying to treat someone so well that it becomes a
desirable place to stay?In terms of stiupidity this seems to me this
ranks only slightly below letting things get to the point where Jerry said he'd
Management didn't even have the decency (or the guts?) to tell Williams face to
face he was being traded and he finds out about it by watching TV?!?!?!!?Neither Larry Millor OR Jerry Sloan would have treated even the lowest
player on the team that way!Oh, Jazz, I've lost lot and LOTS of
respect for you now.
Anybody else want to bring Jerry back?
This is about D-will and the Jazz not Jimmer! He wont be able to get his shot
off at the next level!!! The MWC is a long way from the NBA!!! He will be a role
player and need to get passes out of double teams, I agree if he is open he will
do well. Plus he will get torched on D!
Darin was the best point guard in the NBA along with Rose of Chicago. Darin was
a player the Jazz could only dream of landing and so they trade him for a bunch
on garbage. This entire franchise is dead in the water. Expect the Jazz to
follow the Cavs in futility for years to come. What a sorry collapse of an
entire organization. First Miller passes, then Sloan retires by force and now
Darin is traded. Oh boy, expect the bag-heads and boo-birds to start appearing
in the stands as the losses pile up. Nothing left to watch or care about with
Dont dog on jimmer .. how many playas can rise up from anywhere anytime any
angle in transition off screens how does anyone guard that doesnt matter who you
are .. has nice pop in his legs is crafty and is fearless..makes touch shots ..
im not saying draft him in the lottery but if we are late lottery ya gotta
consider it.. plus white guys are more likely to stay in slc and be loyal even
if he does thrive at the nba level and would become a wanted commodity ..so im
not going to bet against him but i havent made up my mind on where he is safe to
draft yet.. it would depend on who's still on the board..
